The fourth in a collection of conversations around the big questions of life and faith. This week we sat down with Pastor Hugh Moore to consider the question: What happens when we die? Exploring the reality of heaven and hell.
In this teaching We will be covering Tithing from the covenant, tithing as partnership with God, and tithing as stewardship
Father means source and sustainer . A father birth all of us on earth, and the presence of the father in the household brings so much stability in the child. In raising a fatherless child, the Grace of God makes the difference in who they become.
Bridging The Gap Radio - Pastor Hugh J. Harmon Topic: Gun Violence
The power of self worth. Knowing your value as a human being. We all need to love ourselves beyond possessing material things. Love yourself irrespective of your flaws. Before God your value never goes down. We look for self worth on wrong things like what you do, what you own, who is your friend or your connections. You are above all that. You are of High value. Your self worth is not your net worth. Your net worth is who God says you are. Psalms 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; Psalms 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? Psalms 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Psalms 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Pastor Hugh Heinrichsen joins us as we seek to break the silence, reduce the stigma, and remind people that it is not a sin to be sick. This Sunday inspires and challenges us as we seek to equip our church to become a place of refuge and hope for those in pain. There is hope.
Eternal life “Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”” John 4:10 NKJV “Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”” John 4:13-14 NKJV “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” John 7:37-39 NKJV
Arise and occupy part 1 The body of Christ should never have a bad attitude towards money. 5 principles of wealth transfer. 1. Knowledge * God prefers that His people be knowledgeable * It is not right for us to be poor because we lacked knowledge. * Where knowledge is lacking, darkness prevails. There need to be illumination that is brought by knowledge 2. A higher level of tolerance * A power of an organisation to withstand unfavourable environments and We need to have a high tolerance of those who differ from us. Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. * Your high level of intolerance is partly responsible for your wealth and influence. * The key to our next level of wealth is intolerance and creating friendships with those out of our Christian friendship. * Learn other peoples cultures because you will easily have friendships. * Not everything in the kingdom will be accomplished by Christians or the church. God has earmarked some pagans for this cause, who have capacity. 3. Capacity We need to grow our capacity, What is capacity? * Capacity is ability to perform the maximum production possible * Capacity is developed privately where no one sees you . * The more vessels we have the more capacity you have 2 Kings 4:3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 2 Kings 4:4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 2 Kings 4:6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

““As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”” Genesis 8:22 NIV
1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
That you may believe! John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
A Father's Love This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10
There are pressures that we as people experience that automatically make us experience pressure. “We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair;” 2 Corinthians 4:8 AMP
Change things in your character that might affect your relationships
Rebelling against the god of the stomach * He who does not fast food will succumb to the spirit of lust. 3 attitude to embrace during fast 1. Forgiveness... you are not allowed to display an attitude of unforgiveness 2. Generous spirit... share with those in need. 3. Kindness spirit... be kind to other people . Be kind in your words. Have an attitude of kindness in your every day life. * The power of hunger...fasting is about rebellion. An act of defiance against rules and those in authority. * Refusal to take instructions from authority. * Fasting is rebelling against a god ( a god of the stomach) * A god is a deity.. have authority and make demands like your flesh ( stomach.
What is fasting? * Biblical: it is voluntary wilful abstinence from all pleasure including food and or drink for a predetermined period, individually or as a group , for the purposes of prayer and dedication with specific outcome in mind. Why do we fast? * To humble ourselves (repent) ll Chron 7:14, Joel 2:12-13 * To petition God. Esther 4:16, ll Chron 20:1-4 * To discipline our flesh 1 Cor 9:29 * To deal with stubborn situations. Mark 9:29 * To be effective in ministry. Acts: 14:23, Acts 13:2-3, Matt 4:1-11
Exhortation to the church: Philippians 4:10-20 NKJV “But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress. Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Philippians 4:10-20 NKJV
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:15 NKJV Peace is our nature... we bring peace where ever we go because “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3 NKJV Jesus is the PRINCE of peace/ the originator of peace / the Father of peace
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 NKJV Powerful message on how to TRIUMPH in pain.
What does God say about EFFECTIVE PRAYER? “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” Philippians 4:6 NKJV Prayer is a place of request. A place where we bring all our anxieties and needs to God . Make your requests KNOWN to God, even though He Knows all our needs. We have to make all our requests known to God. God move when we pray, as prayer gives Him the authority. Pray also with THANKSGIVING . Thank you Lord for supplying all my needs . Prayer of thanksgiving should be our lifestyle just like FAITH. As Faith cannot be separated from our prayer lives. Thank you Lord for answering our prayers . Amen
Vision Contending for new grounds . See/ ENQUIRE,RESEARCH before you possess. Let my people see where they are going . ““Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them.” And they returned from spying out the land after forty days.” Numbers 13:2, 25 NKJV “Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.” Numbers 13:27-28 NKJV “But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants ( the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”” Numbers 13:31-33 NKJV Be aware of your next place of influence. The next level requires FOCUS, ONE NESS, UNITY, togetherness, courage etc Where there is two visions there is division A house divided against itself cannot stand.
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” John 4:23
THE ELDER BROTHER MENTALITY. ““Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.' “But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.' “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.' ”” Luke 15:25-32 NKJV Do not let the fact that you have been around the church for so long let you loose focus of the ministry purpose. Understand that Growth is always about new people/ new additions 8 Spiritual to guard against in the organisation/ the church. 1. THE UNFORGIVING SPIRIT .... the elder brother said>> this son of yours....no more my brother, he was disconnecting himself from his family. There is No view of the grace of God from the elder brother mentality The father is welcoming and the son is unforgiving. 2. CONTROLLING SPIRIT... you want to have a say in everything/ consulted first. Let the father be. 3. DESERVING/ ENTITLEMENT SPIRIT...I deserve it/ pastor must bury me. Let not your loyalty to the vision turn into poison. Be a point of good reference. Do not turn your longevity to a curse. The voice of someone outside has less power than the one inside the house/ inside there is elder brother. The elder brother inside the house is more influential because you trust them. Be a custodian of only the good news about your church and vision. Tell the good news. Be the stability, focus 4. THE SPIRIT OF NOT KNOWING WHO YOU ARE INSIDE THE HOUSE OF GOD. Understand that all that belongs to your father belongs to you, no need to worry about the elder brother. Own up the vision.tithe, pray, you are the owner. Understand your power, this vision is yours.understand your role. There is a reason we call Him OUR FATHER. 5. THE DESSENT SPIRIT... THE DISETISED SPIRIT. Enquirer from the sons Bout the father. Discussing matters of the house with the servants instead of the father. Don't spread gossip with the lower 6. THE ANGER SPIRIT....Angry others are used by God more than Him.God is a God of presence. Difficult to work with people who are angry. 7. ARROGANT SPIRIT/ I WANT TO BE BEGGED SPIRIT. The father had to come out to beg him/ coming to beg/ plead/ explain himself.... 8. BUSY BUT NOT CONNECTED WITH THE HEART OF GOD OR THE PASTOR IN THE HOUSE.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3

Pastor Hugh delivers a powerful message.
In the fight against Gender based violence, we believe that men who are abusive to their partners and children are mostly men who have left their place/ position in Christ and the message is calling all men to come back to their Creator. “Now the snake was the most cunning animal that the Lord God had made. The snake asked the woman, “Did God really tell you not to eat fruit from any tree in the garden?””
Ps Mark hosts this week and opens with a very enthusiastic welcome to and blessing over every suburb in the Bundaberg region. He also profusely thanks us for continuing with all the tithes and offerings throughout the lockdown period. Then we meet Pastor Hugh with a very important aspect for all of our lives ..... Have you ever had one of those deep, dark places that you can't escape from? Dying of cancer? Been made redundant? Been divorced? Had a car crash? ..... And focusing on that dark place prevents you from seeing the good? I think we have all had either a little or a lot of that at sometime in our lives. Ps Hugh gives us the key out of these dark places, beginning with Romans 9:23 ..... We can know God's Glory. Ps Hugh lists a number of things that are not necessarily important to the running of our day to day lives. They are extras! But they are extras that God created specifically so that we can enjoy our lives and also enjoy Him more. During difficult times these extras don't disappear - they are always present. Our souls might be undergoing a tribulation but our mind knows that, all the way through that, God is still Good Reading from 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, we get the encouraging story of David and Ziglag. Well, it doesn't seem encouraging at first but God shows us that it is. Then 1 Samuel 30:6 & 8; Romans 8:38-39, and John 3:16. We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus! ========================================== What did you receive from today's message? Is there a 'takeway', 'nugget of gold' or revelation you can share with us? How can you apply today's message to your life this week? ==========================================
“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me].” Genesis 17:1 AMP . Abraham demonstrates one of the greatest examples of faith in the Bible. He believed against all odds, and he endured in his faith. Abraham's faith was an obedient, believing faith—a faith that genuinely obeyed and believed God. Abraham had a decisive, obedient faith. He obeyed, and he went without any directions from God as to where he was headed. When God called, he acted immediately. He did not hesitate, argue, question, or waver back and forth. He simply obeyed. As soon as he heard the call of God, he arose and followed God; he acted decisively. Note a significant fact about following God: Abraham did not know where he was going. He did not know where following God would lead him. He just believed the promises of God; therefore, he acted upon his belief. He believed; therefore, he obeyed.
Ntate ke mang ya kang' ka wena? (Father who is likened to You?) O tshwanetse Ke thoriso (You are worthy of all the Praise) Ntate ke mang ya kang' ka wena? (Father who is likened to You?) The bigger you make God in your life and your movements consistent with the scope of His size, the greater your faith will be. Keep moving with your feet, in spite of how you feel. The greater the movement, the greater the faith. The beauty of faith's triumph is that you get the benefit of divine approval. It doesn't mean everything goes smoothly, but it says of all the others who are people of faith, that they triumphed because they got a divine okay, they got a God-stamp of approval. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

THE GOD OF THE COVENANT.. . . . . . . . . . . . For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” Isaiah 54:10 KJV Though Heaven and Earth pass away, God's Love will not fade. Though Heaven and Earth pass away, God's Peace shall not wither. His Peace shall keep you in all seasons. His Peace shall cover you. His Peace shall Protect you. Let the Peace of God cover your feet. Let His Peace lead you. Let His Power and Love guide your footsteps. Let His Love overtake you.
“But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.” Psalms 37:11 NIV
WINNING- Most of the winning attitudes run so deep, they are hard to distinguish and easy to fake. So how do we know if we really possess them? This attitude is a benchmark. When we do good, help others, genuinely pour our heart into sacrificial service and it is turned against us, what is our response? We often seethe with hurt and wallow in self pity. Especially when those close to us revile us, it cuts deep. There will definitely be hurt, but if Jesus could “despise the shame” that was thrown upon Him so can we. If Paul could reach out to those who hurt him and transform them that is our charter. Are we able to trample those feelings of hurt, rise above and be true lights. BE THE WINNER... choose not to focus on the negative.
30 “Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it. 31 “But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”” Numbers 13:30-31 NKJV
