Today we launched our new series, "Breaking Through the Storm." In Part 1, "Peace in the Storm," we looked at Mark 4:35-41 — where Jesus calms a raging storm and reminds us that His peace is greater than any fear we face. Key reminders from today's message: Storms are inevitable, but Jesus is with us. His silence doesn't mean His absence. Fear reveals where our faith is anchored. Jesus has authority over every storm. We don't have to fear because of His Promise, His Presence, and His Peace. Scriptures: Mark 4:35-41, John 16:33, 2 Timothy 1:7

Just as Israel was full of worry and anxiety under the oppression of Rome, we experience the oppression of worry and anxiety in our world today. It's no wonder that one of the greatest gifts God has given us is peace. Jesus is not just the Prince of Peace, nor does He keep peace to Himself as a possession. Rather, in His grace, Jesus has given us HIS PEACE by the power of the Holy Spirit. We can have His peace as a gift right now by just receiving it.

The Silence feeds me. The Silence clothes me. It moves me. It walks me. It talks me. It provides. It will fill you up,but you have to be full of It first. Paradox. You're full of words, usually, but not right now. Right now, you are being His Peace. When people meet you, they find Him,they feel Him, they see Him,and call you beautiful. But you know the Truth. What the Peace of God is, what it isn't, and how do we live in His Peace.
"He made His Peace with God" Rev. Joe Evans, Senior Pastor
Jesus says: “Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division” MESSAGE SUMMARY: From the Gospel of Luke (12:49-56): “Jesus the Divider” Introduction: While Jesus does bring us “Peace”, Jesus tells us that His ways are not always our ways; and Jesus does not always bring us “Peace”. In the world, we have tabulation; but Jesus has overcome the world. However, Jesus tells us, in Luke 12:49-56, that He, also, brings “division”. Today, like in the time period of Luke's Gospel, we need to pay attention to God's signs in the world. Today's Message: If we are serious about being a follower of Jesus today, we need to listen to Jesus in Luke 12:49-56. Jesus begins His Simon, to many thousands starting in Luke 12:49, with His “fire of persecution”: “I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! In this passage, “fire” does not mean the Holy Spirit; “fire” means the “fire of persecution” – which is “when the Gospel is preached without compromise”. This “fire” is the hostility that occurs when the world hears the Gospel preached without compromise. Jesus continues, in Luke 12:50, with: “I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!”. Jesus uses “baptism” to refer to His immersion in death and His separation from the Father on the cross, but death would not hold Him. Continuing with Luke 12:51, Jesus tells us: “Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”. How does this statement of “division” rather than “Peace” reconcile to Jesus' other statements regarding His bringing “Peace” into the world? This apparent contradiction, regarding Jesus and His “Peace”, can be addressed by considering the five ways the word “Peace” is used in the Bible [as presented in the audio teaching]: 1) an attribute of God; 2) fruit of the Holy Spirit: 3) a state of mind; 4) absence of conflict; and 5) being in right relationship with God through Jesus. Therefore, when Jesus, in Luke 12:51, says that: “Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.”, Jesus is referring to the Bible's use of “Peace” regarding an “absence of conflict”. Jesus is telling His followers that He, the Gospel, and His followers have come to disrupt and confront. However, Jesus wants to have “Peace” in the other four contexts of “Peace”. In Jesus, we do have “Peace”; but when we do stand with and for Jesus, “division” and conflict are created. In this passage from Luke, Jesus wants His followers to know that following Him will have a cost in terms of conflict and worldly tribulation. Many in and of the world will not tolerate our communication of the Gospel. Jesus is not saying that “division” is good. Rather, Jesus, in John 17:22-23, expresses His desire, to the Father, for His followers to all be one with Him and the Father. However, Jesus is warning us that “division” is inevitable because we are human and sinners. Jesus ends His message to those assembled, in Luke 12:54-56, with: “He also said to the crowds, ‘When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.' And so it happens. And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,' and it happens. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?'". In this passage, Jesus was pointing toward His purpose on earth and the cross; but no one understood His message at the time period of His teaching in Luke – they could not read God's signs. Do we see and follow God's signs, or do we miss them and become party to creating “divisions”? TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, I confess that when difficulties and trials come into my life, large or small, I mostly grumble and complain. I realize the trials James talks about are not necessarily “walls,” but they are difficult to bear, nonetheless. Fill me with such a vision of a transformed life, O God, that I might actually consider it “pure joy” when you bring trials my way. I believe, Lord. Help my unbelief. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter, Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 94). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Jesus told us that He gives us His Peace, but not a peace that the world gives. Before I came to Christ my peace was based on what was going on in my life AND my possessions. That meant that peace was based on things that can change at any moment. It was based on events that many times I had no control over. But when I came to Christ, I experienced an unchanging peace not based on possessions, but on a person who loves me and never abandons me. This Sunday Paul will take us on a peace journey as we continue through Philippians.———————————————————————————————Connect with us on Social Media:Website: nbcc.com/Facebook: facebook.com/nbccnorcoInstagram: instagram.com/nbccnorcoYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6S-3n9PVnXm8zSPHAYVyGw----------------------------------------If you have any prayer requests or questions, please message us on our social media or send us an email at hello@nbcc.com. Jesus said in John 14:1,27: “Do not let your HEART be TROUBLED; believe in God, believe also in Me ... Peace I leave with you, My Peace I give to you... Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” *(I) The TROUBLED HEART: “Do not let your HEART be TROUBLED” (John 14:1a). The Greek verb used here for ‘troubled' is tarassō: to stir up, agitate or roil, as of the sea (Matthew 2:3). It is used x3 of Jesus in John 11:33, 12:27, 13:21, before He said in John 14:1: “Let not your HEART be TROUBLED; believe (trust) in God, believe (trust) also in Me.” Jesus tells us to not allow the core of our being to be moved from its centre in God. Proverbs 4:23: “GUARD your HEART with all diligence, for out of it (your heart) spring (flow) the issues of life.” *(II) The TRUSTING HEART: John 14:1: “Let not your heart be troubled; BELIEVE (trust) in God, BELIEVE (trust) also in Me.” Having commanded us not to have a troubled heart, He then tells us what to do instead: BELIEVE! Instead of being TROUBLED, let us TRUST in Him. This is not talking about a vague belief in God, but Jesus commands us to TRUST in Him, to have a trusting heart. We can TRUST Him in times of TROUBLE, because He has given us certain PROMISES in John 14. These promises are like anchors for us, when we are tempted to have a troubled heart. *PROMISE (1): “In My Father's House (Heaven) are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to PREPARE a PLACE for YOU (in Heaven). And if I go and PREPARE a PLACE for YOU, I will COME again and RECEIVE you to MYSELF; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go (Heaven) you know, and the way you know” (John 14:2-4). *PROMISE (2): “Whatever you ASK in My NAME, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ASK anything in My NAME, I will do it” (John 14:13-14). *PROMISE (3): “I will not leave you orphans; I will COME to YOU (through the Holy Spirit)” (John 14:18). “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another HELPER, that He may abide with you forever, the SPIRIT of TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He DWELLS with you and will be IN YOU” (John 14:16-17). See also 1John 4:4. Jesus says: “BELIEVE in ME, when I say I am going away to prepare a place for you and will come again to receive you to Myself” (John 14:1-3). Jesus says: “BELIEVE in ME, when I say I am leaving you My NAME, and you can ask whatever you need, and I will do it” (John 14:1,13-14). Jesus says: “BELIEVE in ME, when I say I will not leave you on your own, but I will give you the Presence of the HOLY SPIRIT, to live inside you and be available to help, strengthen and lead you” (John 14:1,16-18). Proverbs 3:5: “TRUST in the Lord with all your HEART, and lean not on your own understanding.” This trust in Jesus, centred and fixed on Him, brings us to a place of peace in the middle of trouble. Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep him in PERFECT PEACE, whose mind is stayed (fixed, leaning, resting) on You, because he TRUSTS in You.” *(III) The TOWERING HEART: After He promised to us the PRESENCE and HELP of the HOLY SPIRIT, Jesus also promised to give us His PEACE: “the HELPER, the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. PEACE, I leave with you, MY PEACE I give to you” (John 14:26-27). Jesus has left the HOLY SPIRIT with us, who is the GOD of PEACE (Philippians 4:9). In Judges 6:24, God reveals Himself to Gideon as Jehovah SHALOM - the Lord is our PEACE. PEACE is not just the ABSENCE of conflict, but God's PRESENCE in our heart in the midst of turmoil. John 14:27: ”PEACE, I leave with you, MY PEACE I give to you (in your heart), not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not LET your HEART be TROUBLED (John 14:1), neither let it be afraid (don't be cowardly)." Philippians 4:7: “The PEACE of God, which passes all understanding, will GUARD (protect) your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” His PEACE is like the WALLS of a castle, towering around our hearts. Romans 5:1: “We have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”, because: “Jesus is our PEACE” (Ephesians 2:14). He has given us His PEACE. That PEACE is already ours, because of His Sacrifice on the Cross. For this reason, instead of having a TROUBLED HEART, we can have a TRUSTING HEART. Moreover, we can have a TOWERING HEART, that towers over and above the trouble, by abiding in His PEACE. Proverbs 18:10: “The NAME of the LORD (Jehovah Shalom) is a STRONG TOWER; the righteous run into it and they are SAFE.” We can TRUST in JESUS and stand in the STRONG TOWER of His PEACE, no matter what's going on in the world around us. He is our JEHOVAH SHALOM - the LORD our PEACE (Judges 6:24).

You spend time with God by listening. Think of that image of Dolores from Disney's 'Encanto', with her hand up to her ear. That. Just listening. This listening is continuous, that's mediation. When you're listening you're not thinking, that's meditation. And then in the quiet listening, Love is felt. You hear God's silence, and then you feel God's Love. You're gifted His Peace, and then you notice that that too, is continuous! No matter what comes (or goes), this Peace stands. All you have to do is remember to listen for the feeling of Peace, and then that Peace dissolves everything that isn't Peace... help comes, because God is. I Love you, Nik nikki@curlynikki.com Today's Quotes: "...continuous reaching toward the center of our being, will eventually result in the experience of the Christ. In that moment, we discover the mystery of spiritual living: We do not have to take thought for what we shall eat, what we shall drink, or wherewithal we shall be clothed; we do not have to plan; we do not have to struggle. only Christ can live our life for us, and we meet the Christ within ourselves in meditation. The degree to which we attain the experience or activity of the Christ, the presence of the Spirit of God in us, determines the degree of individual unfoldment." -by Joel S. NOTES: “HOW CAN WE OVERWHELM WORRY?” Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4–7 (NIV) REJOICE - CELEBRATE GOD'S CONTROL. Right now all conflict has ended. All division has ended. The past is dead. The mind is dead. What does a dead mind sound like? What does this Silence feel like? Rumi says it's like a carpet of light being spread out for Him, being held out for His Presence. At the top of your next inhale, hold in the Stillness, and share in His Peace. And as you exhale, notice that the Stillness is still inside. The Peace is still within. But you're not controlling that breath. You're not the one breathing, you aren't the breath. All of this is happening in You. This voice, these words are happening in You. For the love of mere words we need not become involved in disputes and dissensions; instead, we should try to discover the true Name with their help. Unfortunately, what do we see in this world? Those who remember the Lord as Wahiguru begin to call themselves Sikhs, while those who remember him as Allah call themselves Muslims, and those who remember him as Ram call themselves Hindus. We become so intolerant that it becomes difficult for us even to meet each other. Where this wrangling over words is leading never occurs to us. If today, however, we were to merge with the true Name, all strife and discord would come to an end.... Conflicts last only while we are deaf to the music of the true Name and are in love with the names expressed in words." -Maharaj Charan Singh
Death Brings Life By Tammy Lacock “Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.” (2 Corinthians 4:10)In this final part of The Cross, Warren takes us into the very heart of the Apostle Paul in the hopes that his gospel of grace will take hold in the hearts and minds of those who hear it. Without Paul's writings, we would never fully understand what exactly happened at the Cross. Paul was the only one raised up by Christ Himself to explain it. Paul's gospel explains the abundant life Christ promised to us by His death on the Cross. As believers in Christ, we are now complete in Him, by the uprooting of the sin-nature passed down through the curse of Adam by Satan, replacing it with Christ's nature, His Incorruptible Seed. By His very life within us now, we can now truly live free, free to rest in Him and experience and know His Peace “that passeth all understanding,” even amidst our inevitable sufferings. By Christ in us now, we stand perfect before God as His bona fide sons and daughters. There is nothing we can do to be perfect. Christ is our perfection. Paul's gospel of grace tells us that even when we fail, God only sees Christ. In 2 Corinthians 4:10, Paul expresses his intimate love for the Christ within him by acknowledging our need to bear the suffering in our bodies and death to ourselves as the only means by which Christ can be manifested through us as believers. Just as by Christ's death we have been given new life, so too, by our own suffering and death to our old lives, Christ's life can now come through us. Life comes through suffering and death. The suffering and death to ourselves manifests His life through us to others. The trials and tribulations in this life are meant to cultivate a deep and unique relationship with Christ, one that becomes a love affair as we continue to live and breathe in Him. Through Paul, God's ultimate plan for us is revealed: To know and live Christ as our new life, to live and rest in Him knowing everything is in His hands, and to reciprocate His perfect love for us by making Him our first love each and every day and through every single suffering. His death ushered in our new and everlasting life. Christ in you and me, the hope of glory!“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” (Colossians 1:26-28)

Life IS Jesus Christ Shawn Paul Have you ever wondered what it would be like to just go “all in” for Jesus? What would that mean for you. Don't worry about what someone else did. Don't worry about somebody else is going to do. Just “knowing” this is what the Lord has called you to do – and then just DO IT. Just go all in… What would that be like? Would you go to a foreign land? Would you teach others about the Word? Would you go into full time ministry? Would you go into becoming a caretaker of a church or church grounds? Really – the possible ways are endless. The only requirement is – you're doing it for the Lord. Amen! Our guest today has followed that path. Shawn Paul owned his own construction company. He became successful in real estate, flipping houses and was living the life. But, he gave it all up to become a full-time missionary, blending his faith and technical skills to impact Central America and around the world, with the Gospel. Amen! He believes you can follow the plan God has for your life and when you walk firmly in your faith, the extraordinary will follow. There is nothing a person cannot do if God has told you to do it. Amen! He is also a podcaster, a radio broadcaster, short term missions leader and is raising up and training pastors through a 2 year Bible College program in partnership with Mark Barklay Ministries. Amen! Shawn has taken a break from all of that to give us a few minutes of his time today… so help me welcome to the program, the founder of “Morning Star Missions,” Shawn Paul. Amen! Shawn it is so good to finally get you to sit down for a minute and come on the program! I do appreciate it! First question I always start with is this. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Shawn Paul?” You're affiliated with Mark Barclay Ministries. Mark Barclay has a great ministry based up in Michigan. That's where I'm from originally. Great man of God. Amen. You're originally from Iowa, I believe I read. You now live in Guatemala as a full time missionary and serving the Lord there. Let's start with your background. Were you always interested in preaching and teaching the Word or did you was it something that evolved over time? I know… I believe… that God has a unique calling for each and every person. He uses our experiences, our pains, our failures and our victories to form us into the person He needs us to be. Your calling started by going into business. God needed you to learn those principles so He could use you later. How did God lead you to start your business and how did that evolve over the years? Living in a foreign land is not easy. I know… I lived three years in Korea. It is also enjoyable, exciting and all of that. But there are challenges. My unique calling is to minister to the people of my own land…God specifically used Ezekiel chapters 2 and 3 to call me into the ministry. That evolved into ministering to the world through the Internet and to help others do the same. I know…I love what I do, despite the challenges. How does God give you His Peace in knowing you are doing, right now, exactly what He needs you to be doing? How do you “know that you know that you know?” Tell us about your podcast, “Life is Jesus Christ” podcast. How long have you been podcasting? How often to you release new episodes? Shawn, this has been so interesting. If someone would like more information on you or your ministry, or possibly would like to get you on an interview like this – how can they do that? How can they get in touch with you? You also have a support page on your website for the ministry work. Amen! I'll put that link in the show notes as well. Folks, the work like Shawn Paul is...

When we hurt, Jesus understands. Because He knows and understands our grief, sorrows, heartaches, and pain, we can experience His Peace. He entered our world at Christmastime to deliver the Peace that passes understanding to us, and the world is completely unable to deliver the peace that only God can give.
Today Steve, Vicki and Luke dive into Colossians 1 starting in verse 13. It is our sin that wages war with God and makes us unable to feel His Peace. Jesus has reconciled everything to Himself through His Blood so that we can all experience His Peace again. This Peace makes it possible for us to know Him. How can we experience His Peace? TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Luke 12:49-56; Luke 3:21; John 14:27; Judges 6:24; Romans 15:33; Philippians 4:9; Romans 16:20; Ephesians 2:13; John 16:36; John 17:22-23; Psalms 28:1-9. Are You Incomplete?By Tammy LacockWarren lays down Paul's gospel of Christ in the hopes that believers will fully grasp exactly what happens to us in that moment we believe. Only by God's grace, our sin-natures were literally uprooted and another life, the Spirit of Christ, was planted in our very spirits, making us one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:7). This is what it means to be born again. In fact, Paul tells us in Ephesians 1:4 that it was already in God's mind before the foundation of the world for us to be in Christ:“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” Christ's death (“the lamb slain,” 1 Peter 1:19-20) and our rebirth in Christ were both in God's plan before the foundation of the world. There is not one without the other. Christ's death, burial, and resurrection ushered in grace, a brand-new gospel revealed only to Paul. This grace is Christ as our new life. Paul's gospel of grace is one of completion (Colossians 2:10). Before we were born again in Christ, we were incomplete. Now that God's plan of Christ literally living in every believer has been finished by the Cross, we are finally free to be exactly who God created us to be. Paul's letters reveal the battle in his mind of burying his old self and mindset and knowing his new risen life now in Christ. He wanted nothing more than to know Him, the Christ that now breathes his very breath. Now that we are complete in Christ, the Holy Spirit will comfort and teach us of our new life in Him. We no longer live, Christ is our new life (Galatians 2:20), all of us one body in Him (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). Now is our chance to experience His Peace, resting only in Him as the one who now operates in us. No longer under the power of Satan, sin, and the law, we are completely free knowing who we are now in Christ. We live and move in Christ now. This is the abundant life Jesus spoke about when He said, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).Paul reveals this to us in the hopes that we, too, seek to intimately know the Christ living in each of us and experience His oneness in our unique expressions of Him.
The moment you touch His Peace, the mind dissolves, and you're back where the sun never sets. You're back where there is no suffering. You're back where there is no 'you',and none of your problems, and none of your limitations.Just the Christ. And you'll watch the Christ manifest Itself where you appear to be.It fulfills Itself where you appear to be.It serves and heals others where you appear to be.It lives where you appear to be,right now, It lives.God lives.Thank God, and smile.I Love you,Niknikki@curlynikki.comPlease help me keep the show ad free + Get Merch!▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmornings_______________________Today's Quotes: "Imagine if we treated each new dawn, and each new day with the same reverence and joy that we treat each new year."-Angie Lynn"Don't you know yet? LISTENER FEEDBACK When our hope dies so does our faith. I want to encourage all those who have succumb to a life of pain, insecurities, and brokenness. YOU CAN BE HEALED! I know you have only seen this version of yourself, but there is a healed and whole version of you that God knew before you were a thought! You do not have to walk around the same anymore. The enemy wants us to doubt that God is a healer and that He is good, because it is our faith that releases His healing! This week let's discuss: ❤️
Feel God saying- 'that thorn in your side (that job, that illness, that person),is to bring you closer to Me,to lock you inside of Me, inside of My Love, inside of My Healing, inside of My Will, so that you'll stop leaving. Don't let the appearance of this world make you forget that you're in Me. That I'm all around you. Just listen, when the noise becomes too much, listen for Me. When you listen to sound, the very listening is Me.The Silence and Sound are not separate. The Formless and Form are not separate.I Am not separate from you.Surrender.Soften.
