POPULARITY
Pride climbs. Humility bows. Today we are talking about James 4:1–12 in Work in Progress | Part 7, where James, the brother of Jesus, shows us that the way up in God's Kingdom is down. Pride fights for control and chases status, but James learned that pride always crashes and humility gets lifted.Real faith surrenders. God lifts what goes low. If you are carrying the weight of control, chasing validation, or fighting draining battles, this message will point you to freedom, peace, and strength in Jesus! #kokemillchurch

The sermon explores the narrative of God's establishing a home on earth with humanity, drawing connections between the physical restoration of the temple in Ezra and the homecoming of God's people through Jesus Christ. It emphasizes that Cyrus's decree, while seemingly political, was divinely orchestrated to facilitate the return of exiled Israelites and the rebuilding of God's temple-home, facilitating God's broader plan to dwell with humanity. Pastor Ritchie connects this historical account to the ongoing work of God, through Christ, to recreate and restore creation as His dwelling place with all redeemed people.
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN BY BRINGING BACK THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF EARLY AMERICA: GEORGE WHITEFIELD
This message is entitled: The Continued Reading of Pilgrim's Progress, Part 1, which includes. Section 1, entitled Cristian's Deplorable Condition, and Section 2 entitled Evangelist Directs Christian. The book, Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory on Salvation, written by John Bunyan, who was a Bondage of the Will preacher, in prison in England for preaching the gospel, and while he was in prison, he wrote Pilgrim's Progress, published in 1678, and still in print today, has been one of the most read Christian books in the world. Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory on salvation, and is the most accurate portrayal of salvation in an allegorical format ever written. This book is worth reading over and over again, for what does Satan do, but he counterfeits salvation. If we think of the Bible as a wagon wheel with 66 spokes representing the 66 books of the Bible, and the hub of the will representing salvation, Satan counterfeits the hub of the wheel, and that is all he has to do to corrupt the 66 spokes, and that is how he destroys the true church. He never lets his foot off the accelerator, and thus the bondage of the will church must press its foot harder on the accelerator to continue to further define salvation more accurately in order to keep ahead of Satan's counterfeiting. John Bunyan in Pilgrim's Progress will put us way ahead of the curve in detecting how Satan counterfeits the scriptures, and thus every American should have a copy of Pilgm's Progress and read it over and over, not to replace our meditation on the Word of God, but to be a supplement. Pilgrim's progress is an allegory, and in this allegory, practically every paragraph, and sometimes every sentence, there is a hidden scripture that goes with it. And those of us that have read our Bibles day and night over years, every time we read Pilgrim's Progress, we will see the hidden meaning behind what John Bunyan is saying, because we will see the scriptures that he is referring to, for we know our scriptures. Thus in the following messages, a commentary will be given showing the Scriptures underlying the hidden meaning that we might understand the meaning of the allegorical sentences and paragraphs. Those of you that continue to listen throughout these several messages, you will be way ahead of the curve in detecting how Satan counterfeits so that you might avoid those false churches and ignorantly embrace their false doctrine. Those churches that have a false hub of the wheel, a false definition of salvation, a counterfeited salvation, what happens but the 66 spokes are tainted, that is the 66 books of the Bible are tainted, and thus without an accurate definition of salvation, we will be sucked into churches that have a false doctrine. And if we follow that false doctrine and end up in hell, what good did those churches do for us. they did us no good at all. So Satan is not stupid. He will always counterfeit salvation first and if he has accomplished that in a nation, if his false doctrine becomes dominant, he can pull his lever on the lazy boy, for the nation is going to go astray. , Like the moon being a reflection of the sun, so the morality of the nation is just a reflection of the doctrine of the church. Thus a dominant false doctrine will make America immoral. If you are a brand new creation, you're going to just love this book because when he begins to describe in an allegorical format, conversion, it will match your own conversion you've been truly converted. And hardly anywhere else can you find such an accurate description of what it's like to become a new creation. It is just wonderful, and it will give you great confirmation of your own conversion. And you will quickly learn how to detect others who have been falsely converted, because John Bunion does a great job of showinging us what a false conversion looks like juxtaposed to a true conversion.

In this episode of Life Rewired, Kristina unpacks why you might be “doing everything right." Tracking macros, hitting your workouts and steps, eating clean, and staying hydrated, without seeing a change on the scale. She explains how chronic under-fueling, paired with overtraining, can spike cortisol and stall fat loss, why hidden calorie surpluses occur on weekends, and how a lack of progressive overload in workouts can leave you spinning your wheels.Beyond calories, Kristina dives into hormonal hurdles (think estrogen dominance, thyroid imbalance, high cortisol), gut inflammation that impairs nutrient absorption, and the impact of poor sleep and unmanaged stress. She wraps up with four actionable steps to help you achieve the progress you're after on your own fitness journey. EXILE and EXODUS are themes that run through Scripture. God has always intended to live with humanity on earth. Because of sin we are exiled from God's presence and home. Because of Christ we can experience exodus back into God's presence. See how the account of Ezra fits into this biblical motif that is connected to Christ.
In today's episode, Kristina is clearing up one of the most common misconceptions that she sees in the health and fitness space: the difference between weight loss and fat loss. These two terms get used interchangeably all the time, but they are not the same thing and confusing them could be the reason you feel stuck, even when you're doing “everything right.”She breaks down exactly what weight loss is, which includes not just fat but also muscle, water, and food volume. She also explains why crash diets often lead to quick scale drops that don't actually reflect real, sustainable progress. Then Kristina gets into what fat loss really looks like: losing body fat while preserving lean muscle, so you look tighter, feel stronger, and support your long-term metabolism. You'll learn why it's important to focus on body composition, not just the number on the scale, and how to achieve fat loss through 5 tangible steps. If you've ever felt discouraged by the scale or confused about whether your plan is “working,” this episode will give you the clarity and strategy you need to move forward with confidence. Part 5 of our ongoing book discussion series about the classic work by John Bunyan, The Pilgrim's Progress, is finally here! James, Jonathan, and Jeffrey Stivason, pastor of Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church and a professor at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, pick up where they left off with Christian coming out of the Valley of the Shadow of Death and meeting his friend, Faithful. Their subsequent conversation covers the profound themes of temptation, discontentment, and shame, subjects that are relatable and applicable to all believers and illuminate the complexities of the Christian journey for each individual. Two things really jump out at me as I read this…Bunyan recognizes that there are differences in the ways in which Christians are tempted, the ways in which therefore they are comforted and find hope, and that's a profound insight… This conversation with Faithful serves such an important purpose because it shows two men, walking the same pilgrim journey, yet in one sense experiencing it very differently. – Jonathan Master Don't miss this enlightening, instructive discussion! As they traverse the path to the heavenly country, Faithful engages Talkative in a conversation that reveals the stark contrast between mere words and genuine faith. Talkative, who appears charming and eloquent at a distance, soon exposes the emptiness of his religious profession when scrutinized closely.Through their dialogue, Faithful emphasizes the importance of authentic spirituality, urging that true religion is rooted not in talk only, but in action. The discussion becomes a profound exploration of grace, the necessity of a transformed heart, and the dangers of superficial faith. Christian shares his insights on Talkative's character, highlighting the peril of being deceived by outward appearances.Join us as we delve into the themes of sincerity, the power of genuine faith, and the call to live out our beliefs in our daily lives. This series encourage believers to focus on growing spiritually above all else. Growing naturally most of the time is a regular occurrence, but growing spiritually takes discipline.
In this part of the Pilgrim's Progress, we find Christian on the path to salvation, burdened by the weight of his sins, until he reaches the cross where his burden is miraculously lifted. This poignant moment of transformation is marked by the arrival of three shining ones, who bring him peace, new garments, and a sealed scroll to guide him on his journey. As Christian continues his pilgrimage, he encounters various characters embodying the spiritual pitfalls of life. He meets Simple, Sloth, and Presumption, who remain asleep in their chains, refusing the help offered by Christian. He also encounters Formalist and Hypocrisy, who have taken shortcuts on their journey, bypassing the gate of salvation. Through these interactions, Christian learns the importance of entering the path through the proper means and the dangers of straying from the true way. The narrative brings us to the foot of the Hill of Difficulty, where Christian refreshes himself at a spring before ascending the steep path. Unlike the other travelers who choose easier paths leading to danger and destruction, Christian perseveres, understanding that the path to eternal life is often fraught with challenges. Join us as we reflect on the rich symbolism and spiritual insights in this timeless story, exploring themes of redemption, perseverance, and the transformative power of faith. Join us on a riveting journey as we delve into the classic tale of Christian's encounter with Mr. Worldly Wiseman, a story that echoes through the ages with its profound moral and spiritual lessons. As Christian travels alone, he meets Mr. Worldly Wiseman. Their conversation leads Christian to question his path to the Wicket Gate, where he seeks relief from his burdens. Mr. Worldly Wiseman offers an enticing alternative, steering Christian towards the village of Morality and the house of Mr. Legality. The narrative unfolds with Christian's inner turmoil and the heavy burden he carries, both physically and spiritually. Despite Mr. Worldly Wiseman's persuasive arguments, the journey to Mr. Legality's house proves perilous, leaving Christian in fear and regret. Just as despair sets in, Evangelist reappears, guiding Christian back to the true path and reminding him of the dangers of straying from divine counsel. This part is a rich exploration of the timeless struggle between worldly wisdom and spiritual truth, a reminder of the importance of steadfastness in faith and the perils of seeking shortcuts to salvation. As Christian learns, the path to true deliverance is fraught with challenges, yet it is the only way to find genuine peace and redemption. The much-anticipated follow-up to the first episode of James and Jonathan's book club is here! Today, the guys sit down again with their friend, Jeffrey Stivason, pastor of Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church and a professor at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, for Part 2 of this series. Though written in the 17th century, The Pilgrim's Progress has essential applications that we can glean from reading this classic work. Based on the feedback from listeners, you're as excited about this as we are! “When you think about the Wicket Gate being readiness, when you think about the scroll being assurance, and that whole idea that this is what Christ has done for you. You don't learn those once, and then your Christian life is made easy because of them. Those are things that you say to yourself repeatedly every day of your life, you know. That's the Gospel preaching that you do to yourself every day, that you need or you're not going to last with any sort of vigor or strength.” – Jeffrey Stivason We hope you enjoy this second installment of our book club as James, Jonathan, and Jeff (J3) discuss the Interpreter's House through Hill Difficulty.
