Dude, where's my car? Where's your car, dude? We're having a really hard time remembering where we parked this week as we take a pit stop on the Missing Pieces lap to cover Dude, Where's My Car? Before we get there, though, we swing by the Tailies' home base in LOST and convince Mia that Dom needs our help. Then, our patron (and past guest and unofficial co-host) Brian Rodriguez (High School Slumber Party) -- who picked this movie for us to watch -- gets the call to help us find our misplaced car... and to discuss the surprising number of Fastnections to be found. It's our first outing with one of the Tailies this week as Ana Lucia takes centre stage! Sayid mourns Shannon, couples are reunited, and tonight.... is the night.... that two become oooooonnee.....
We take a bit of a break from the main story this we as we're caught up with the story of what the Tailies have been up to during Season 1. It's not pretty!
The DHARMA Initative, Pierre Chang, Alvar Hanso, the polar bear, the shark, the DeGroots, the Tailies, Jackface... oh, and there was a plot this week, incidentally. Join us for Orientation, a veritable treasure trove of LOST!
Did you like the pilot of the series? Good, because it's time for Part 2! On this episode of No Love Lost, Will and Megan take a look at the Tailies, the story of the people in the tail section of the plane. We see how Ana Lucia, Mr. Echo, Bernard, and Libby landed on the Island and had to immediately go toe to toe with the others. Does this added context make Ana Lucia a more likable character? As it turns out, that is very much debatable. Go to fredsbs.com and use the offer code "NoLoveLost" to get 20% off your order! Michael has his commands from the Others: bring Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley (and only those four) to them, and he and Walt get to leave the Island. Does he succeed? Is he able to keep his secret plan a secret? Why do the Others specifically want those four Survivors? Meanwhile, Locke and Eko are still fighting over the button in the Hatch, and all of that gets thrown into a loop when Desmond returns to the island, drunk as a skunk and seemingly giving up all hope of leaving. Our flashback explores Desmond's life before the Island, the fateful storm that brought him there, his life in the Hatch before he was discovered, and how his partner died. Not to mention a crazy epilogue scene that asks way more questions than it answers. In addition to recapping the two part finale, Kevin and Ben look back at the season as a whole. How does it stack up compared to Season 1? Where the Tailies a worthwhile addition to the show? This, plus our final superlatives of Season 2 and a very brief look at a fun bonus feature from the DVD.
Ana Lucia Cortez is one of the most hated characters in LOST history. After watching her first flashback episode, it isn't hard to figure out why. Our hosts discuss the curious case of Ana Lucia, what went wrong, and some parallels to the character of Kate. The other flashback catches us up on the lives of Tailies in the first 48 days on the island, putting some missing pieces of the puzzle together in the process. As a bonus, you get more discussion on the band Staind than your probably expected or wanted.
The bond between the Tailies and raft survivors grows more strongly as Michael looks for Walt and Sawyer's gunshot wound worsens. In our flashbacks, the Korean class system can't stop a meet cute, and Shannon's step Mom totally sucks. We also deal with our second Island death which makes things on the Island very awkward as our two groups grow closer to meeting.
We’ve reached another one of Rachel’s Top 5 Least Favorite Episodes of Lost! How would you like to redo Season 1, in a single episode, with people you don’t know at all and therefore care WAY LESS about??? ‘Cause that’s what we get!!! Only this goes a lot faster, and has a lot more Others Attacks. As for your Intrepid Podcasters, Rachel empathizes with Pee Dude after he doesn’t follow the established Pee Rules, Susana doesn’t know as much Guys and Dolls as she thought, and Lost continues to be horny for plane crashes. Susana still does not like Lost.
And here it is: we finally learn what happened to the Tailies after their crash. They had it way worse than our people, and we all give Ana-Lucia some credit for protecting them. We are joined by frequent guest host Maggie to discuss all of it.
In this episode we get to witness Jin and Sun's lives before each other, and their adorable meet cute. We also enjoy a series of vignettes between Sun and various people as she looks for her lost wedding ring. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Island, the Tailies start their trek to join the rest of the survivors, and Jin gets a somewhat better, and creeptastic, view of The Others.
