May 30, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 140 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to the Thursday report concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers possibly being interested in trading for Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith. We go over the specifics of that report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, how Smith would fit with the Steelers and the likelihood of such a trade ultimately happening. Alex and I discuss Steelers TE Connor Heyward and his chances of making the 53-man roster again this year on the heels of the Thursday report concerning the possible addition of Smith. Another Thursday report by Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports indicated that the Steelers are looking to add another playmaker on offense this offseason. We drill down that report some as well early in this show. The Steelers wrapped up their first set of OTA practices on Thursday so with that, Alex and I discuss a few things we think we learned over the course of the previous three days. We discuss T Broderick Jones and his weight comments, how he is settling in on the left side for starters. We also discuss the latest concerning DL DeMarvin Leal and how it sounds like he might have put on some weight this offseason. We discuss the tough road that Leal has this offseason when it comes to him being able to make the 53-man roster. Is Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. primed for a big 2025 season? We go over his 2025 outlook and some of the things he said this week during the team's first OTA practices. We also discuss new Steelers CB Darius Slay talking about training with some of the other cornerbacks this summer outside of Pittsburgh. We go over several other player quates and tidbits to come out of the first week of OTA practices to wrap up that portion of the show. We also discuss OLB T.J. Watt continuing to stay away because of his ongoing contract situation. NFL financial experts Joel Corry and Andrew Brandt recently weighed in on the integrity of the league's salary cap, so we go over a few suggestions that both have now made known. This 81-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap. Changing gears, Tyler told the story about his ridiculous utility bill from last month after the city of St. Albert charged him $34,000 for water usage. On today's show, the guys welcomed Nils and Tim from Oilersnation Germany, sampled some candies, and a whole lot more.Kicking off the second episode of Real Life of the week, the podcast got started by welcoming Nils and Tim from Oilersnation Germany as they kicked off their own #NationVacation for the week. From the 22-hour journey it took to get here to meeting Leon Draisaitl after the Oilers/Sens game to shutting down a curling rink, it was fun for the boys to listen to their experiences and how much fun they're already having over the first couple of days. Getting back to the Oilers, the squad previewed tonight's game against the Stars and how this is a huge matchup given that Dallas could end up being a first round opponent if the Oilers get stuck in a Wildcard. Lastly, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with a chat about sports franchises moving around, the NHL's probable/eventual expansion, and Jordan Binnington's nonsense in last night's game against the Wild. That led the guys to talk about all of their favourite infomercials from over the years and how it used to be fun to sit and watch the shenanigans late at night. Changing gears, Tyler talked about what it took for him to get his pro-serve certificate to be able to serve drinks at the Oilersnation 15th Birthday bash that's coming up next weekend. As you'll hear, it's almost amazing that Tyler was able to pass the test with flying colours given that the exam itself was filled with such outrageous scenarios.
