You know him as Troy Hawke of the Greeters Guild on social media, but get to know the man behind the compliments, Milo McCabe, who pulled up a chair to the Comedy Roundtable virtually from the UK, his base of operations for his stand up comedy and online video creation. Milo took time out before departing for a tour in Australia. Milo McCabe is the creator of Troy Hawke, through whom the viral Greeters Guild series was born. As well as surprising the Manchester City Team, Peter Andre, Naughty Boy and various other celebrities with off the cuff compliments, he has been performing full time on the comedy circuit (domestic and international) for the last ten years and has won several awards. His 2019, 2021 and 2022 tours have all sold out as well as his last two Edinburgh runs.TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@troy_hawke Website: http://www.milomccabe.co.uk/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/Billix1Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! What was supposed to be a short episode got interrupted by a tree surgeon that happened to be the creator of Troy Hawke and the Greeters Guild, Milo McCabe. Milo joins Muggins and Cream to discuss his recent surge of notoriety and a medical emergency.
This week, The Junkies continue their in-depth look into one of beloved actor Winona Ryder's most iconic roles by watching Reality Bites, the generation-defining (?) look at the whiny slackers of Gen X. Featuring Winona at her most appealing (and Ethan Hawke at his most annoying), the movie sets up a love triangle between the aimless Lainey (Ryder), the jobless Troy (Hawke) and director Ben Stiller's character Michael, who has everything going for him but mysteriously wants to enter Winona's den of slack. Janeane Garofalo and Steve Zahn round out the cast as Vickie and Sammy, who aren't given significant storylines. While Hayley (and her husband) have…disdain for the film, Nicole can at least relate to how hard it is to get a job in journalism. Shauna isn't the only one to root for a Lainey-Vickie pairing, and Alex gets mad every time Troy acts like he's playing guitar. Oh well, at least this movie gave us Lisa Loeb. If you only hear what you want to, stay. You can prepare for the next Winona Ryder 101 by watching Girl, Interrupted. Thank you to Olympus Games, the home of the Pop Culture Junkie Podcast. Fast forward to Saturday morning and the purple-quilted, waxed moustached charmer is literally everywhere. So much so that he even popped up on This Morning to chat with Holly & Phil on Wednesday.
