Over the years, we’ve talked to many BMW duos: Blutman & Busgang, Ethan & Blake, Rider & Lisa Loeb. Well, now it's time to complete another team, as the gang sits down with Patti Carr, who along with her former writing partner Lara Olsen, penned some of the most memorable, and weird, episodes in the show's history. The very successful writer / producer helps answer some of the most important questions from Season 5 of her first big job: like who was to blame for Cory’s infidelity and why the 1940s time travel episode was almost totally derailed by being too historically accurate. Plus, we hear the absolutely shocking backstory behind the celery joke in “Better Than the Average Cory.” Who's to thank for the iconic gag? Hey Fuller House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered S5E8: Five Dates With Kimmy Gibbler, which aired on December 6, 2019. In this episode Ramona introduces Rocki to Ethan and she suspects that they already know each other, Lisa Loeb turns up in DJ and Matt's veterinary clinic which draws Steph to get Lisa to listen to a song she wrote. This was a funny and cute episode. Love Steph's song and also Ethan and Rocki pretending that they don't know each other and they used to hang out. I also covered S5E11: Three Weddings and a Musical, which aired on June 2, 2020. In this episode while Steve babysits, DJ, Steph and Kimmy head to a wedding expo and wind up walking the runway. Jackson and Ramona audition for the school play. The wedding dresses were horrible looking (IMO), triple weddings/triple the drama, but I loved the plot with Jackson and Ramona and the musical, Jackson sounding like Josh Groban. Both episodes were adorable and sweet. I hope you enjoy them and have a great holiday!

It is a privilege to welcome Khemuni “Muni” Norodom to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Muni spent his childhood in his home country of Cambodia. Upon graduating from the International School of Phnom Penh, he traveled to Malaysia and Germany to study in their capital cities. It did not take long before he caught the acting bug. Following his uncle, King Sihamoni, who worked as a Cambodian cultural ambassador and a classical dance teacher in his younger days, Muni decided to pursue a career in the arts field and moved to the United States. In 2017, Muni graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. 1660 Vine will be Muni's first feature role. 1660 Vine is an original musical that investigates the journey of life as a social media influencer creating, curating, and continuing an artificial online identity that pleases sponsors, brands, and tens of millions of followers, all the while aware of the widening space between one's true self and one's online self. The film is an ensemble story of makeup tutorialists, stunt artists, models, pranksters, gamers, vloggers, and musicians who, though each on their path, have found community in the luxury Hollywood apartment building they (temporarily) call home – 1660 Vine Street. 1660 Vine is directed by Patricia McGregor, the New York Theater Workshop Artistic Director. The legendary Paula Abdul choreographs it and features music supervision from the team that oversaw the High School Musical franchise. Muni is joined in the cast by Cheryl Porter, Chris Olsen, Pia Toscano, CJ Curz, Malachi Durant, Lisa Loeb, and Sam Haft. On this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Muni Norodom discussed what attracted him to the role of Danny, working with his cast, and sharing advice for content creators about being authentic on social media. You can get even more Fail Better with Lemonada Premium, where I share the extended thoughts I have after each interview. Here's a free peek at what you could be getting: My conversation with Lisa Loeb, that came out earlier this week, really unlocked some things for me. Plus, it dovetailed well into some of the thoughts I was having after talking with another musician recently, Kathleen Hanna. Lisa got me thinking about perfectionism and finding joy in our work, while Kathleen Hanna had me pondering how a pop song or a rock song can be a conduit for an idea, especially a politically charged one. Looking back at her wildly successful and always adventurous career up to this point, it feels inevitable that Lisa Loeb was always going to be a songwriter and have a music career. But young Lisa probably could have done any creative job well. She grew up surrounded by music, yes, but she also had a passion for theater, and got her degree in comparative literature. It was her theater, voice acting and film side hustles that led Lisa to her first big break. Lisa's friend Ethan Hawke shared her song “Stay” with Ben Stiller, who included the song in the soundtrack for the film ‘Reality Bites.' “Stay” was a massive hit, and Lisa was the first-ever artist to have a #1 hit on the Billboard charts without a recording contract. The second act of Loeb's career is the main focus of our conversation. This chapter in the book of Lisa Loeb is all about… children's music! As her latest album, ‘That's What It's All About,' demonstrates, Loeb has managed to keep playfulness and curiosity at the center of her life well into adulthood. She has figured out the delicate balance of making music for kids that adults can relate to as well. Happy memories of music from her own childhood, as well as nods to her elders, make this new record a sonic storybook that listeners of all ages will enjoy.Follow Basic Folk on social media: https://basicfolk.bio.link/Sign up for Basic Folk's newsletter: https://bit.ly/basicfolknewsHelp produce Basic Folk by contributing: https://basicfolk.com/donate/Interested in sponsoring us? Lisa Loeb has the mind of a student — a straight-A, Grammy-winning student. As we talk, she moves between earnest curiosity and a dogged determination to succeed, and it's clear to me that Lisa's robust musical career (extending way beyond her hit song “Stay (I Missed You)”) has a lot to do with how hard she fought to open the doors that were closed on her. From less than ideal musical collaborations to the iffy vicissitudes of press, Lisa knows conflict when she sees it. And while she doesn't necessarily embrace these challenges, she knows she learns a hell of a lot once she reaches the other side. Follow me on Instagram at @davidduchovny.
