The FC crew react to Cristiano Ronaldo record-breaking day but ask if he should have been sent off before his late brace securing Portugal's win over Ireland. Elsewhere, France struggle against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Erling Haaland scores for Norway who share the points with the Netherlands. Plus, they look back at the top ten stories of the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich hit Hertha for five in a standout performance for Jamal Musiala, who deservedly received a standing ovation for an outstanding performance. Julian Nagelsmann seems to know what he is doing; his players connected very well. He also made some timely substitutions to give his players enough rest. Robert Lewandowski bagged a hattrick; he manages to break his own records and make it seem easy. He is eerily consistent; I think Erling Haaland is still a level below Lewandowski (tsk tsk UEFA); Lewa is an intelligent player with years of experience under his belt. He is somehow still getting better. There was rain in Munich, but, for one, Bayern did not let the weather get in their way. The eyes of the footballing world are upon Paris Saint-Germain. With time running out in the summer transfer window, what will they do with Kylian Mbappé? On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Carl-Oscar Källström and Mel Brennan to discuss Real Madrid's bid to sign Mbappé with a year left on his contract, how PSG should replace Mbappé, and the UEFA Champions League draw. Up first, it's the topic everyone is talking about. According to reports, Madrid has offered PSG €180 million for Mbappé, which at the time of publication, has not been accepted and is unlikely to be enough to get the deal done. We discuss Real Madrid's transfer tactics, the figure we believe PSG would accept, and our prediction on what the club will ultimately do with their prized asset. Of course, if PSG sells Mbappé, it's a very real possibility that Les Parisiens could reinvest that money immediately and on Friday, one notable name emerged as a potential candidate. According to ESPN, Erling Haaland could be on the move to the French capital if Borussia Dortmund receives an offer of around €200 million...the same amount PSG is hoping to sell Mbappé for. Another angle to the Mbappé saga is the fans, especially the most passional Ultras who make their voices heard at the Parc des Princes. They've already whistled at Mbappé once this season and we discuss what the atmosphere could be like if the 22-year-old remains in Paris for one more season. We wrap up the show with some Champions League chatter. Once again, PSG finds themselves in the "Group of Death" with Manchester City, RB Leipzig, and Club Brugge. Does the schedule play in PSG's favor and which big clubs could fail to reach the knockout stage? As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. We're also on Discord! The FC crew discuss Cristiano Ronaldo's shocking return to Manchester United and what it means for their title hopes in the Premier League. Plus, Erling Haaland's late goal rescues three points for Dortmund, Kylian Mbappe's future remains in limbo, and Joaquín Correa makes a dream debut for Inter.
On this week's episode, Henry Hill is joined by Patrick van Straaten and Samuel Obaseki to cast their eye over everything transfer-related. They take the top six clubs (plus one - Arsenal or Leicester, take your pick), and bring up a few names each should be looking at. Before that though, they discuss the Kylian Mbappe situation now Real Madrid have finally put a bid in for the PSG man, and whether or not Mino Raiola should be commanding all that money for his client Erling Haaland, who probably doesn't care about any of it. So who should Man City target up front - Lautaro Martinez or Harry Kane (yes we filmed this before his announcement, you don't need to tell us), and should Chelsea prioritise a centre-back in Jules Kounde, or Saul Niguez in midfield? Patrick explains why Rodrigo Bentancur is perfect for Man Utd, whilst Spurs and Leicester lack any decent squad depth - could one of them go for Philippe Coutinho? Then of course, they talk Arsenal, and Patrick is surprisingly optimistic. Maybe it's because he's a new dad. Enjoy!
On this episode of the Churros y Tácticas Podcast, Kiyan Sobhani answers questions on: - His theoretical football career - Should David Alaba go to CB when Ferland Mendy returns? - Would Kylian Mbappe want to join forces with Erling Haaland? - The origin on Churros y Tácticas - What value does football have to society? - Vinicius Jr vs Ansu Fati - Breakout La Liga stars - The importance of Dani Carvajal - Improving La Liga as a product - And more.
