(Strange Tales #89, 1961) Recommended in this episode: · The Ultimates · The Atlas Comics Library No. 1: Adventures Into Terror Vol. 1 · The Shadow Over Innsmouth by Gou Tanabe · The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia · Dracula Vol. 1: The Impaler by Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones Join us in two weeks as we look ahead to next year's Thunderbolts movie with the beginning of a series of episodes exploring the origins of the Thunderbolts and the Masters of Evil through the decades, beginning with Baron Zemo in Avengers #4, 6, 7 and 9!

Oh me. Oh my. Welcome to the magic planet, boys and girls. Justin and Russell discuss the villain that tows the line between absolutely adorably and utterly frightening. The original Hulk, Xemnu the Titan! Also listen for some Donald Pleasance impersonations Halloween Special theme by:
In this episode of Defenders Dialogue with Carr and Adam, Carr D'Angelo (owner of Earth-2 Comics in Sherman Oaks and Northridge, CA), and Adam Philips (president of UntoldStoriesMarketing.com) discuss what's happening as new writer Len Wein brings back Xemnu the Titan -- the big, fuzzy teddy bear of a villain who used to be called the Hulk in the pre-hero Atlas days! Plus, Nighthawk arrives to ask for help, and his former team, the Squadron Supreme, shows up to cause trouble, with help from a mysterious and powerful being called Nebulon! It's all happening in Defenders #12 - 14.

Cable #1 is pretty great! It's got everything that Marvel made for the old ROM the Space Knight series, except ROM. Which is weird. Plus, baby Cable is getting over his gun fetish. Decorum #1 is as deep and weird as you'd hope from Hickman, and the art is as deep and weird as anything I've ever seen. Hulk has more of our fuzzy mind bending space hulk Xemnu who is making everyone think he was their favorite childhood buddy. And lots more.
In the aftermath of the Avengers-Defenders War, the non-team face the return of a familiar villain -- Xemnu, the Titan. And if that ain't enough, this episode marks the first appearance of Nighthawk and Nebulon the Celestial Man! Face it true believer, this issue has everything...including Magneto, Professor X, and the Squadrom Sinister!
It's National Comicbook Day! To celebrate, Steve and Chris picked two of Marvel's C-List characters and have them face-off! Listen as the buggy Swarm & the Hulkish Xemnu meet for a battle for the ages. See Who Would Win?! Did you agree? Did you disagree? Reach out and tell us because we want to see. Our hosts take a look at the totally delightful Defenders #12. Topics of discussion include: Three Men and a Baby ghost stories; happy flower smelling Hulk is the best Hulk; Dr. Strange is a poor listener; and Xemnu shenanigans and mnemonic devices! All this, plus some exciting upcoming guest host announcements! Enjoy! Enjoy!
Hub and Cory take a look at the Defenders in Marvel Feature #3, and dang it is one crazy issue! Our hosts go on (if this is even possible) more tangents than usual. There is a goofy ass space monster named Xemnu, some pie tossing Astronauts, a substitute Admiral, and Hub coins the phrase "poop-deck donnybrook". It's a real poop-deck donnybrook.
