The 49ers injuries continue to define the team Is the Kings defense better, or a preseason mirage? The NLCS is set, and the Yankees/Indians play tonight with a trip to the ALCS on the line... The NEWS!!! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
After Rocco Baldelli got ejected during the Twins' one-game visit to New York this week, it appears that the manager now truly knows what it's like to be a Minnesota sports fan: it is to suffer. The Twins lose a 5-run lead and the game to the Yankees, then head home only to win one of three against the Cleveland Indians in their final series against each other this season. On top of that, two starting pitchers leave early with injuries, and, well, it's just been that kind of year for Minnesota. Dan brings up Jake Cave as a potential pinch hitter, and David can only assume Dan has entered some bizarro world -- or that of a video game -- where Cave has high value as a hitter. The boys also turn their gaze to the rest of the baseball scene and discuss which teams they could reasonably root for in the playoffs. Today's word of the day is 'overstimulated' as in 8 playoff games and a finals game as in so much sports as in how do we watch it all!? Let's talk about how crazy of a sports day Wednesday actually was(0:06). Houston Astros advanced and Carlos Correa spoke to the haters. Not the right move (2:30). What about our pal, Trevor Bauer? What did he do? He pitched a gem, but he keeps doing things that rub people the wrong way (9:04). The last series I'd like to talk about is the Yankees-Indians matchup. What a disaster of a game last night. Not the game game, but the game length. 19 walks. A rain delay (13:00). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about having fans at the World Series. They wanted if this decision was just about money (17:11). Review - Thunder Road (25:00). Let's talk about the NBA Finals. Not the game. What was going on behind the scenes. The report was Doc Rivers was watching the game with Philadelphia 76ers top brass. Interesting. Allow me to explain (27:00). The Brooklyn Nets already seem like a bad, bad situation. Kyrie Irving had some things to say on Kevin Durant's new podcast (31:45). What happens when a team owner wants to be 'part of the process'... the Los Angeles Angels know all too well about this (34:50). We did not win Podcast of the Year Award, but we still love each one of you listeners. Thank you.
