BT and Sal are fired up after the Yankees' hard-fought Game 2 win against the Red Sox, which forces a dramatic, winner-take-all Wild Card Game 3 at Yankee Stadium. They acknowledge the Yankees capitalized on Boston's sloppy play and mistakes to secure the victory. The main topic of contention for the finale is the lineup construction against the opposing lefty starter, with Sal adamantly declaring that the team's "second-best offensive player," Ben Rice, must play—no matter the matchup—as the Yankees must go down with their best players on the field. They stress the energy in the stadium will be "nuts" and the Yankees need to be "buttoned up" to advance.

Sal and BT furiously dissected the Yankees' Wild Card Game 1 loss to the Red Sox, leveling criticism directly at Aaron Boone and the organizational reliance on predetermined scripts over "feel for the game." The central issue was Boone's decision to pull ace Max Fried for Luke Weaver, a move they both deemed a mistake, regardless of the results. The discussion also covered the subpar performance of the offense, Jazz Chisholm's "childish" and "disrespectful" post-game avoidance of the media, and Aaron Judge's clearly compromised arm strength in right field, which the Red Sox aggressively exploited. They argued the loss was an "unmitigated disaster" that exposed the Yankees' long-standing structural flaws.
Sal and BT furiously dissected the Yankees' Wild Card Game 1 loss, tearing into manager Aaron Boone for his controversial decision to pull ace Max Fried, a move they argue proves Boone lacks a "feel for the game" and relies on pre-programmed analytics. The hosts went scorched-earth on the team's structural flaws, highlighting Aaron Judge's compromised throwing arm being exploited by the Red Sox and calling out Jazz Chisholm's "childish" reaction to being benched. The discussion evolved into a fiery demand for the Yankees (and the Mets) to conduct a deep, critical review of their rosters and management, capping the segment with a rant about a rookie's embarrassing error that symbolizes the low quality of some playoff teams.

The Wild Card playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers here in the 2024-2025 season is now in the books! The Eagles defeated the Packers by a score of 22-10 down at The Linc. The Eagles now look to the divisional round of the playoffs after an incredible defensive performance.Jalen Hurts was back under center after being out with a concussion over the past few weeks. While he did not have the greatest game on the stat sheet, he did not turn the ball over, and ran the offense well. Saquon Barkley rushed for 4.8 yards per carry, 119 yards on the ground throughout this game.Vic Fangio's defense, played incredible at all levels against the Packers offense. Quarterback Jordan Love was consistently pressured. January 12, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 77 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Sunday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Saturday night AFC Wild Card game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens that resulted in the former being eliminated from the playoffs. Alex and I discuss the transactions the Steelers made prior to Saturdays game and how the inactive list ultimately played out and why. Alex and I do not go deep into our analysis of the Saturday loss as the all-22 tape has yet to surface. The loss, however, is not hard to dissect just at the surface level based only on the live viewing. With the Steelers being one-and-done again in the playoffs, the annual early offseason discourse when it comes to HC Mike Tomlin must be addressed by us. Alex and I have a long conservation about whether the Steelers should highly consider moving on from Tomlin and possibly reshaping the front office as well. We talk a lot about the culture of the Steelers under Tomlin, the organization's way of going about business and more. We discuss where we both thought the Steelers 2024 season would look like back in September and how close it came to our predictions. Did the Steelers actually overachieve in 2024? Alex and I discuss that topic. Assuming Tomlin and GM Omar Khan remain employed, and there's no reason to think otherwise, what changes should be made to the coaching staff? We address that topic. The Steelers must address their quarterback situation early in the offseason before doing anything else and Alex and I address that topic. We also talk about whether we think the Steelers will spend heavily on defense during the offseason. This Sunday episode of the podcast is one huge gripe session overall as we get ready to move on into standard offseason mode. We fail to address any questions from listeners in this show but plan on hitting several during the Monday episode. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

January 10, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 76 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex and Kozora and I get right into discussing the upcoming Saturday night AFC Wild Card game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers Thursday injury report is reviewed early in this show, so Alex and I discuss that and the team's decision to waive WR Scotty Miller ahead of their playoff game. We discuss why Miller was likely waived and what it likely means when it comes to the Saturday night pregame inactive list. The Ravens will be without WR Zay Flowers Saturday night, so we discuss the magnitude of Baltimore not having him against the Steelers. The Steelers will have a few tough decisions when it comes to their Saturday night inactive list and especially the final two spots. We discuss a few possibilities. Will and should QB Justin Fields see some playing time on Saturday night against the Ravens? What about CB Cory Trice Jr. and WR Mike Williams as well? Alex and I address the possibility of such happening for those three players during this show. We go over the pressure that Steelers HC Mike Tomlin has on him to beat the Ravens on Saturday night. We also discuss the pressure on Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ahead of this playoff game. Alex and I get deep into breaking down and previewing the Steelers Wild Card game against the Ravens and that's easy to do on the heels of the two teams already having played twice during the regular season. We discuss both of the teams on offense and defense and what the Steelers likely must do Saturday night to win in Baltimore and advance in the playoffs. Will Saturday night's game be the last one for several soon-to-be unrestricted free agents on the Steelers? We go over the lengthy list of players that discussion applies to. Later in this show, Alex and I make our picks against the spread for the Wild Card round of the playoffs. We also predict the final score of the Steelers playoff game against the Ravens, This 96-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted, and we close things by answering a few emails that we recently received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
