5 Questions with Frank Mengert was born out of my quest to change the perception of what we see on social media and what real life is all about. Life is not all about models, bottles, boats, jets, fashion, and people showing off stacks of cash. As someone who is working on his 4th company, I've ridden the rollercoaster of being an entrepreneur while also having the experience of having been an intrapreneur working for corporate. This podcast will show you a look into the lives of people just like you. People who you can relate to who have been where you have been and who are now where you might aspire to be someday. If someone else had done it before you, there is a way for you to achieve those goals. If you are feeling stuck or have hit that wall. Tune in to hear about how others have been successful overcoming challenges to conquer their desires.
Finding success on LinkedIn in 2018 is a bit different trying to find success on LinkedIn as we move into 2021. So much has changed, more users, more content, dwell time, that frigging algorithm everyone blames. However, one guy seems to have it figured out. Meet Jonathan Palmar, the Chief Experience Officer at Shay Rowbottom Marketing who I had the pleasure of speaking with on the show. A short, fat kid who was bullied as a child which led to a serious lack of confidence – he took some inspiration from the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, and The Rock – he became a wrestler after hitting a growth spurt. Today, at 6' 2” Jon isn't someone I'd mess with in a dark alley. Sharing his stories and just being a pretty awesome dude all around, Jon has catapulted here in LinkedIn with a massive following of over 70K followers in just a few short months. His content is getting over 20K views on average and he is sharing all of his advice with those who check out his content. Jon and I talk about his journey to getting started creating content and his advice for anyone out here looking to create truly unforgettable content themselves. He also shares three pieces of advice people can use TODAY. Make sure you are following him https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathanpalmar/ (here).

There about 170 million individuals covered by private health insurance. The average annual premium for employer-sponsored health insurance is roughly $20,576 for a family of four and $7,188 for an individual. That's a 54% increase from 10 years ago. Employers can no longer sustain these increases. The short-term fixes of raising copays, deductibles and other costs year of year just don't cut it. Shifting the costs to the employees has become a burden that is crushing organizations. Guess what? In some cases, when the premium is higher – the person selling the insurance gets paid MORE. Yup, you read that right. They get compensated for delivering bad news and horrible rate increases to their clients. Imagine that. However, not everyone is status quo. My guest today is Daniel Corliss, Chief Executive Manager, at Stimulus for Business Initiative, and the Founding Partner of Business Stimulus Partners. He is on a mission to challenge that status quo and has put together a partnership with some best-in-class health plan partners to make a real difference in the cost of care. This idea was conceived out of chaos during the COVID-19 crisis knowing employers are suffering from revenue reductions, production slow-downs and shutdowns. As an employer who has constantly struggled with putting together a comprehensive benefits package for my team and being able to make it affordable, it's impressive to see what he is doing. Such an important topic and I'm really excited to share some of what he's up to. 18 months ago, I started to question everything about my company that I had worked so hard to build. It was like I had hit a brick wall. My business was booming, an awesome team, year over year growth, profits on the rise - everything a successful company needs. But I felt like it was all going to come crashing down sooner or later. We were no longer this small company and I was worried I wasn't doing the right things to continue this upward trajectory we were on. I turned to my trusted circle: Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) with what I was feeling. Almost everyone recommended the Entrepreneurial Operating System. They also told me if I was going to take it seriously to reach out to Ben Berman, Certified EOS Implementer. When I tell you, it was the absolute best business decision I have made (ever) – it's an understatement. Kicking off Season 4, on

Today my guest is Mary Henderson. A personal branding expert and coach. If you think that a personal brand is all about values, authenticity or story telling and showing up on social media – you have got it all wrong. Mary has solid and actionable advice she shares to commercialize your brand plus a prediction into the future you'd never expect from a branding expert. WHAT SHE DOES: Helps Coaches, Consultants & Corporate Professionals commercialize their Personal Brand so they can monetize their expertise and become industry experts online and offline. WHY IT MATTERS: In today's digital economy, your Personal Brand is the ONE thing nobody else can BE or replicate, especially if you're a Business Coach, Consultant or Solo Business Owner. People are buying YOU (i.e. Personal Brand) as much as the products or services your provide. WHAT MAKES HER UNIQUE: You can take the girl out of tech, but you can't take the tech out of the girl! She grew up professionally in the IT industry and tech and algorithms are in her blood. As a result, She's developed a unique, proprietary algorithm around Personal Branding that helps you get clear on - what you do (your uniqueness) , who you serve (your target audience), what you stand for (your mission), what you promise (your authority). HER STORY: Having spent the past 14 years both creating and running her own digital agency, along with working as a Coach & Consultant for clients such as Open Universities, UNSW, Entrepreneurs & Coaches, she has a unique perspective & passion for the importance of Personal Branding in today's marketplace. HOW IT WORKS: She has an online coaching program, 1:1 private coaching, group workshops, consulting. My guest today wrote THE book on branding. David Brier is an authority on making sure your brand is unmistakable and impossible to be ignored. We get into what a brand really is and what it means. David talks about the importance of crafting a brand story BEFORE you just start marketing and gives us his thoughts on what a logo should mean for an organization plus what companies are doing wrong. What if you could tap into the exact brand strategies that have generated over $1B in sales? (and continue to generate millions in revenue everyday for companies across the globe?) As a brand, you're either understood or misunderstood. There's no in-between. As a brand, your value is obvious or you've lost the sale (often to inferior brands with superior branding). As a brand, your value and relevance are clear or you're being pigeonholed either adding to the noise out there or rising above the noise. The brand strategies David uses eliminate the wasteful tactics, the lost sales, and the confusing messages brands put out every day. The fact is "Great brands are made." And every day, millions (literally) of dollars in revenue are made by clients (from startups to established brands) using the branding and design solutions he creates exclusively and their application of the insights he helps them learn and implement. David is a branding veteran who for over three decades has provided branding strategies, brand identities and package design for startups, retail, technology, and tourism brands. His work's been featured in ADWEEK, Forbes, Fortune, Fast Company, New York Times magazine, INC., Communication Arts and numerous other publications. He has helped build the brands of the New York City Ballet, Revlon, Estée Lauder, Botanical Bakery, Coco Polo, Legacy Chocolates, The New York Times magazine, Sunbelt Software, KnowBe4.com and many regional and local companies as well as several cities. David is also the author of the bestseller Brand Intervention: 33 Steps to Transform the Brand You Have into the Brand You Need which has called "the branding bible." JJ Birden is a former NFL wide receiver who took his success on the field after nine seasons and turned it to success off the field as an entrepreneur and transformational speaker. He shares his failures and accomplishments making the transition that many former pro-athletes just never do. We also talk about his thoughts on having a mentor, seizing opportunities and the importance of being a master of your craft. To appreciate the Hero's Journey that is JJ Birden's life, you must first know a few important facts: Less than 6% of high school seniors go on to play college football Of the 150,000 draft-eligible college football players, only 253 (less than 1%) are selected in the NFL draft The average NFL career is less than 2 years The average NFL player is 6'2, 245 lbs. JJ played in the NFL for nine years at 5'10 157 lbs! The odds of making it to the NFL are staggering. The odds of staying in the NFL are even more amazing. The odds of doing both are the most astronomical of all when you're undersized and play one of the sport's most physical positions. Good thing JJ Birden never cared about the odds of success. Despite being the #1 high school wide receiver in Oregon, JJ didn't receive a single D1 scholarship offer. He was fast enough for sure, but at 5'9 and 133 lbs., JJ was just too small to play with the big boys. At least that's what the naysayers thought; JJ knew he was good enough, and he set his mind to achieving the impossible. All he needed was an opportunity, no matter how small, even if it meant making his own. He's changing the game of sales and is known across the nation for his no-nonsense approach to Gap Selling, he even wrote a book on it. He drops a bomb on the importance of being honest with ourselves, the wrong way to look at the sales process and the future of the sales industry, which will surprise many of you. He's been selling something to someone for his entire life. He's been teaching and coaching almost as long. With over 20 years of sales experience, which he'll tell you he doesn't give a shit about, Keenan has been influencing, learning from and shaping the world of sales for a long time. Finder of the elephant in the room, Keenan calls it as he sees it and lets nothing or no one go unnoticed. David Meltzer is the Co-founder of Sports 1 Marketing and formerly served as CEO of the renowned Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment agency, which was the inspiration for the movie Jerry Maguire. His life's mission is to empower OVER 1 BILLION people to be happy! David and I talk about his journey of failures and successes, key advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, what keeps him driven, the importance of your time and a prediction into the future that includes AI and the impact it will have on businesses. In his early 20s, David Meltzer quickly rose to the top of his game in the business world, becoming a millionaire. David lectured around the globe and saw rapid success in every business project he touched. But something was missing, and in his 30s as a multimillionaire, he went on a rapid downward spiral that ended in bankruptcy. It was only then that David realized, in order to revive and thrive, he needed to codify what had made him successful in the first place. He has since emerged to realize even more rewarding heights of success in business and life. David Meltzer has created a platform that uses four overarching principles—gratitude, empathy, accountability, and effective communication—and these principles have allowed him to communicate and mentor everyone from college students to c-suite executives. These four principles in everyday practice allow David to live by his mission to “make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun.” LINKS: https://dmeltzer.com/ (Website )| https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidmeltzer2/ (LinkedIn) | https://www.instagram.com/davidmeltzer/ (Instagram) | https://www.youtube.com/davidmeltzer (YouTube) | https://twitter.com/davidmeltzer (Twitter )| https://www.facebook.com/davidmeltzer11 (Facebook) | https://www.entrepreneur.com/listen/playbook (Podcast) David's book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1260452611/ (Game-Time Decision Making: High-Scoring Business Strategies From The Biggest Names In Sports 1st Edition) https://lessons.dmeltzer.com/courses/davidmeltzer (Free course from David) If you have a question for David, please https://forms.gle/WbwB1jxeoXguw6Zx9 (submit it here.)
Thank you for hitting that play button. I am so excited to launch 5 Questions with Frank Mengert. This podcast was born out of my quest to change the perception of what we see on social media and what real life is all about. People who you can relate to - who have been where you have been and who are now where you might aspire to be someday. If someone else had done it before you, there is a way for you to achieve those goals. If you are feeling stuck or have hit that wall. Tune in to hear about how others have been successful overcoming challenges to conquer their desires. Each week you'll hear from a new guest with a relatable story to tell and actionable advice you can implement immediately. I'm excited to bring you into their lives and welcome your feedback. Please visit www.5questionswithfrank.com for more information or to recommend a guest on the show. Thanks again.
