Hey Folks, welcome to The Dream Train Express. A series of live interviews, with people form all walks of life, sharing their dreams. My guest today is a dreamer, dream guide, mother and meditation teacher. She shares a dream that she had during a stressful and uncertain time in her life. She titled her dream "unearthing the tiger" She found herself in a field where someone had been excavating. Someone had been digging and she comes upon a super large stone. She picks it up easily and dusts it off. A friend is with Jess and they find that there is actually two stones. They are tiger stones. Jess feels that they had lost these stones and finally found them. Her friend is worried people will think that they are stealing the stones. But she reassures him that the stones are for them. They walk back to their trucks and load the stones and then her dream ends. Jess says she felt relieved of needing to make things look a certain way. "I knew that in that moment my healing had happened, my need to be sure things looked a certain way was relieved." If you enjoyed Jess and her story go check out her Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/blacknbloom/ And her website is at: https://www.blackandbloom.net/meetjess You can find out more about her and check out her dream circle! Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life walk us through their dreams and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. In this episode Rachel Olson and I talk about our tattoos and how you dreams can be a solid source for tattoo inspiration. Both of us have dream related tattoos and on top of just getting them to be sexy, they can also be used in your dream life. Rachel uses her tattoos and piercings as reality checks to induce lucid dreams. What is a Reality check? Dictionary definitions that I found: 1. An assessment to determine if one's circumstances or expectations conform to reality. 2. An event that forces one to reassess one's expectations or one's understanding of one's situation. Luciddreamsociety.com puts it much more gracefully (Thank you!) 1.Reality check is the action that you perform during the day, that tests your reality. It can be psychical or mental. 2.Reality check is an essential and simple technique that will prove to you if you are in the REAL world or in the DREAM world. Rachels reality check technique is also used by Daniel Love AKA The Lucid Guide. I asked him a few questions relating to the validity of tattoos as RC's and you can hear what he has to say in the closing comments of this episode. Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life walk us through their dreams and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. **** In today's episode we are very fortunate to hear from the incredibly talented artist and dream enthusiast - Laura Pawlik. She is based in Denver, Co. and runs an art gallery in the arts district of Denver called Atelier on Santa Fe Gallery at 910 Santa Fe Drive, Studio 101 Denver, Colorado. Luara enjoys reading, writing, hiking and nature in general. She’s also apart of a jungian dream group that has changed her life and outlook on art completely. “When you dream it’s so honest and so real and.. the pain is just raw. That pressure that people feel when sharing your dreams or painting them, it’s healing for other people too. We get to then have a conversation about painful periods in your life and where we go from there.” - Laura Pawlik Q: Do you have a dream journal? A: Yes, I kept a journal before but it wasn’t until I joined the dream group that I could really appreciate my dreams. After joining the dream group is when I started to paint my dreams. **** Q: What do you do to unwind or relax at the end of your day? A: I like to read, Ill also do visual meditation which is very helpful. Im pretty chill, I don't have trouble relaxing, I have trouble getting motivated. **** Q: What kind of books do you read? A: I love murder and mystery and books on psychology. Carl Jung's Memories dreams and reflections, his books are heavy, they take time to read and digest. I like light fiction too. **** Lauras story starts at the 36min mark. **** Lauras first dream is a precognitive dream. She knows she is tasked to write about a tragic/traumatic event (think mass shooting) She has conflicting feelings about her writings. Part of her wanted to be there to help comfort the grieving survivors and another part of her was glad she was not in harms way. She had the feeling of being assigned to writing about this event. The dream switches scenes and Laura finds herself walking through the forest path with her two daughters she happens upon a sign that reads “dead end” Still accompanied by her daughters, she notices a train heading towards her. She had no time to get out of the way so she lays down between the tracks as she knew she would not be hit as long as she was lying down as flat as possible and remained still that the train would go straight over her. As the train passed over her a visual of her daughter sitting on an open air train cart signaling that her daughter was not harmed by the train. After the train passed Laura joined her daughter and they sat in safety and enjoyed their ride. After waking from her dream she had a feeling without a shadow of a doubt that her father was going to pass away. Laura told her family about the dream but they assured her that her father was completely fine. She had her dream and told her family about it December 3rd. A few weeks after the dream he was diagnosed With stage 4 cancer. Her father then passed away on Feburay 8th **** Thanks again for sharing you story Laura! Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life walk us through their dreams and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. In this episode I follow the regular format for the show and tell some of the most memorable dreams I’ve had. How do I relax/unwind? I believe that a good nights rest starts in the morning and throughout your day and that whatever you do sets you up for good sleep or not. Sleep Aids rituals? Yep! An eye mask and sometimes headphones with natural sounds or binaural beats. minimizing noises and light. Do I keep a dream journal? Yes, but only recently. Dreams were not much of a focus when I was younger but now I realize how unique they are and how powerful they can be. I plan to start drawing and painting my dreams more. Night owl or Lark? I enjoy earlier mornings. I just can’t hang with night owls. I get so tired so early. Im the first to fall asleep when socializing with friends. Average hours of sleep? 7-8 hours very consistently these days. I used to get absolutely terrible sleep. 4,5, maybe 6 hours during my work week while working swing shift. I always felt like a robot. ————————————————— In my first dream Im hanging with friends ‘when suddenly everyone is gone. I look around and find that all of my friends have retreated to an attic to escape an incoming monster/character. I start to make my way to the wooden attic ladder but my body will just not move as fast as I want it to. I accept my fate and wait for the monster to reach the door near where I am laying. He opens the door and I wake up. ——————————————- My second dream starts out in a similar way with hanging out with a small group of friends. We are at a lookout area in a run down industrial area and spot 2 figures way off in the distance walking our way. The two characters are authority figures and we believe they just want us to leave the lookout area. The tone turns dark extremely quickly and we are now being accused of killing or having been involved with killing a large group of people and were are now being accused of this crime. I feel as if im either facing a long jail sentence or possibly death. After being accused and interrogated this authority figure lady beings to search our car and as she is bend at the waist digging trough the trunk of the car. I make a split decision to take things into my hands and I beat this authority figure over and over repeatedly. I’ve never experienced the same feeling after I woke up from that dream before. I felt physically lighter, the weight was off of my shoulders. I was finally able to overcome my recurring theme of not being able to stand up for myself in my dreams. ———————————————— Listen in for more and thank you for listening! Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life walk us through their dreams and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. Where we explore the differences, similarities and connections between our dream life and our waking life. In todays episode we hear from Paul Kalas. I am a faculty member in the Astronomy Department at the University of California, Berkeley, and affiliated with the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California, and the Institute of Astrophysics in Heraklion, Crete. My expertise is searching for planetary systems around nearby stars using direct imaging. My methods involve data from the world’s most advanced observatories, such as the Hubble Space Telescope, Keck Observatory, the Gemini Telescopes, and ALMA. One remarkable image is the planetary system surrounding Fomalhaut (see below), which is a bright star located 25 light years away in the constellation Pisces Australis. Though direct images are difficult to obtain and currently quite rare, they provide unique and fundamental information about exoplanetary systems, such as: The masses of exoplanets, by analyzing how bright they appear and the properties of their orbits. Their composition, by analyzing the color of thermal emission from the planet, or by obtaining a spectrum. The origin of exoplanets, by comparing their current observed properties with simulations of how planets form in a circumstellar disk and subsequently evolve. Ultimately, these data will give us an empirical notion of how common or rare our own planetary system must be in our own galaxy and throughout the universe. ******************** Time stamps: 2:30 Mariam Webster definition of precognition 3:55 Pauls Hobbies and how is interest in astronomy began 4:55 what helps relax and unwind? Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life walk us through their dreams and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. Today we hear from a very talented friend of mine Trent Stocking. Trent is a carpenter by trade and starts off with his recurring dreams about work. coming home from a long day and falling asleep and dreaming about working only to wake up and have to get to work! The worst! This is not the first time i've heard of this. In fact, Im excited to record an episode in the future about a a friend that served in the navy and experienced what he called "boat-mares" a very real and disturbing experience from what he described. 30:00 - nightmare about his grandmother turning into a ware wolf chasing him around a track and field track. Eventually running up a set of stairs. And waking up right before she got to him 34:50 trent makes a connection during this interview which is really cool to hear. His dream came first and then it happened in real life! Trent is chasing a crush up a staircase in a castle type tower from underground. She reaches out for trents hand and then pulls it back at the last moment and pushes him down the stairs. The stairs and tower begins to crumble all around him and finally makes impact with the ground and then wakes up 42:00 Trent describes his dream surroundings map. A place that we returns to often when dreaming. He’s able to fly around this area and describes it in detail. 46:58 we talk about the importance of writing you dreams down and drawing your dreams A quote by Greg Levoy "Just get to your dreams before the world does. Write them down before you even get out of bed. Because the moment your feet hit the floor you literally ground yourself and lightning energy of dreams disappear into the earth." 54:00 trents real story about being hit by a truck as a child while on vacation with his family. He is struck while playing hide and seek and relives the dream over and over again. A recurring dream that haunts him. Until one night he experienced a different positive outcome within the Dream and conquers his fear. He has never had the dream since. Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life walk us through their dreams and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. This weeks guest is Altair Shyam. He's a write/author, teacher, father and dream worker. Dreams have been a vital part of his life since he was two years old. A particular recurring dream that plagued him for the better part of a year, having the same dream nearly every single night, consisted of crossing over a bridge with a partner towards a monastery area on the other side but the bridge would always end up collapsing, causing him to fall into a void of cosmic sound and bright light. Over and over again. Every. Single. Night. It made him incredibly curious about what this meant and why it was happening. Can you imagine going through the same nightmare at age two? Or even worse, taking care of your child going through the same experience? Right before Altair's mother passed she confessed that she kept a pivotal story from him about an elder that approached her in an orchard while doing her job. The elder read her palm and told her she would have 4 children which was true and continued with predicting that her oldest son would be a very mystical child and he would be very unusual and influential and would have a connection to a past life. The elder continued to talk about their futures at which point was too much for his mom and she screamed and ran off. Altair's mother kept the story from him because she had a feeling he would run off and pursue being a monk but she did get him classes to learn Japanese when he was 4. There's so much more in this episode! Altair shares some ideas and practices you can try on your own at home. He's contributing to a book of stories that are similar to his that will be available November 19th called Chaos to Clarity by Rev. Patricia Cagganello and Kathleen O'Keefe Kanavos. Kathleen spirits showed her where the lump was and she took the spirit guides advice to go back to the doctors office without an appointment and demand different tests to be done. Sure enough they found cancer. Kathleen says it’s her life passion to share her story and her new book Chaos to Clarity that she coauthors comes out mid November this year 2019. Which features stories from men and women from around the world who share their story about their struggles through adversity towards a stronger and happier life. Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A one of a kind dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life take us through their dreams in detail and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. In todays episode my friend Sam shares his earliest memory of his dream life which involves running up a never ending set of concrete stairs while being chased by a ferocious man eating dog. Sam is a superstar stepdad that enjoys playing music, skating and says one of his main passions is driving. We had talked at a pinball barcade called Wedge Head shortly before i launched the podcast at a show he was performing at and we talked a little about his dream experiences. Sam mentioned that he medicated with marijuana to help with nightmares and I instantly knew we had to record. His next dream is recurring and involves different settings but the overall theme is the same. He's always trapped somewhere up extremely high and alone and the only way out of this dream for Sam is to wait it out until he wakes up or to commit REM suicide. Sam also has sleep apnea and has found that the best way to combat these challenges is to medicate with the miracle wonder plant marijuana. Taking dabs keeps him from the dreaming experience all together and getting solid sleep throughout the night. Jah bless!! I have added a few links below that cover THC use and how it affects REM sleep. The second link that covers REM rebound. which is a phenomenon in which there is an increase in REM sleep after a night of little REM sleep. Find Sam on IG at https://www.instagram.com/layz0r/ and check out some of his driving machines, skate clips and his better half. :) His sound cloud is to coming soon! Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train!! A dream storytelling podcast that features people from all walks of life and invites them to tell their story about their dream experiences. In Episode 006 our guest Jasmine starts by sharing a dream she experienced involving preparing her boyfriends deceased body for the embalming process. Including washing and working out blood clots in his hair and making incisions in his abdomen. **Special note that Jasmine wanted to clarify** “I said that it’s common practice to sew the biobag of internal organs into a decedent that has been autopsied. This is true, but it is also common to dispose of the bag and fill that space with sawdust or cotton. Don’t know if you think that is important, probably not, but I just didn’t want to mislead folks :) “ Jasmine works in death care so the daily tasks that she experiences is probably far from what most of us are used to. She says she experiences the sense of smell within her dreams more than once, and it’s not always the pleasant kind. Her second story sounds like comes right out of a horror film and you really just have to hear it to understand. Two old women moving slowing within a metaphorical and literal house of death. A cat is slaughtered by hand and Jasmine can taste the blood in her mouth. It gets even more wild just give it a listen! Special thanks to Mina from Belgium for sending in an email with very kind words regarding the podcast and it’s progress. That type of feedback is seriously the best! ❤️ If you enjoyed the podcast please like, share and subscribe. I will be making a video soon about my vision going forward for this project and will post it to my patreon. More on that soon and keep an eye out for my giveaway post on IG. I will be giving away dream journals very soon!! In episode 004 our guest Max is a cartoonist that really cherishes his sleep saying he averages 9-10 hours a night. He sometimes uses a product called Good Nite that helps him drift to sleep. Max tells us about a recurring dream he has been having since he was a kid. He says he's probably had this dream about 100 times with varying outcomes. Max decides to float out of his room at his mothers apartment and has a great feeling about his new found freedom. As he passes his mothers door he feels an "electric chill" and Q-tip shaped head entities appear and project an insulting message labeling Max as a human that has been or will be caught up in "doing human things" and being heavily invested in such. Max Experiences "L'esprit de l'escalier" which is french and it translates into " That feeling when you leave a conversation and think of all the things you should have said." when talking to these entities. When he does confront these beings they seem to hide from confrontation and they scatter. Max has no clue of where this exchange comes from and cannot relate it to any event in his waking life. And that is totally okay in the dream world. Dreams are a work in progess and we must take them for what they are and work with them as they have or may not have answers and clues for us. Thank you for your time Max, without you and your story this podcast would not be what it is. Thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train!! A one of a kind dream storytelling podcast. In this episode my guest Nathan is an avid lucid dreamer, Ultimate Frisbee enthusiast and has a passion for renewable energy. Our paths would not have crossed without his friend sharing a poster that I had put up around town. So many many thanks to that friend for thinking of Nathan and taking action! Nathans says his first experience of lucid dreaming came from waking up in the middle of the night for needing to hit the bathroom or his inhaler for his asthma and then falling back to sleep. He explains that waking up and grounding himself in the conscious world and then going back to sleep helps him become lucid and remember his dreams. In his first dream he explains how influential his grandpa was in his life. Nathan realized he was lucid while in in his yard at his childhood home in Wisconsin and begins to fly around the back yard and tress as he naturally does when he’s lucid. He confronts his grandpa after entering his childhood home and touches hands and Nathans consciousness explodes. He enters a state of ultimate awareness and no longer has a body or senses. His awareness is based on all of his memories with his grandpa in a blink of an eye. He awakes screaming, sweating and panting and describes a feeling of comfort and a overall feeling of “everything being okay” Nathan then describes a very tough period in his life due to the loss of a childs life beyond anyones control. Years of being in a dark place and feeling guilt are instantly washed away after he receives a message from the boy that passed away after entering a dark room accessed from a trap door that was opened up in an open body of water. “That was the only person that could tell me that, and have me believe them.” I cannot thank you enough for sharing these stories with us!! Nathan says cherish your life and Learn to love and cherish your life and opportunities we get to make memories. Nothing else really matters in the end. In Episode 2 David starts off with very real visions of his daily duties going terribly wrong with a bus full of school children. followed by a dream of teeth being loose/falling out A dream about being sick and feeling worse upon waking. Along with his first and most memorable lucid dream involving a handgun because..well.. why not? It's only a dream.. hopefully. And finally a dream of a very real and unfortunate common fear these days of a mass shooting. Somewhat of a precognitive dream of the incident in Las Vegas, Nevada weeks in advance. Lastly Aiden describes his dream that borderlines the waking state and the hypnagogic state. In short. He crushes a white spider, escapes being vacuumed in a glittery, saran wrap bubble only to break free and end up in a futuristic city scape where he gets cornered by swine bodied police officers and awakes abruptly. This trailer episode is my personal story since asking guests and future guests to be open and vulnerable about something as personal as a dream without doing so myself just ain't right. As your show host I share a quick vision of my podcast and then a handful of my dreams. One vision in particular had enough influence on me to get a tattoo of a murder weapon. (the victim represented bad things so it's all good.) And a true story where an individual lies, makes false claims and is eventually held accountable for their actions. (or lack there of) Im stoked to hear your story soon and be sure to subscribe to hear from my next handful of guests they are going to be bangers. This podcast is gonna be rad I promise. Reach out if you would like to share your story! Tire Iron Justice (story behind my tattoo) is at the 7min mark. Music by Yung Kartz - Dreams https://www.yungkartzbeats.com
