On a dark night in April 1944 a German general was returning to his villa on the Nazi occupied island of Crete. Suddenly, two men, dressed as Wehrmacht soldiers, emerged from the darkness and stopped the car. The two men were British officers, and together with Cretan resistance fighters, they bundled the general into the back, and drove through Heraklion and 22 checkpoints. So began one of the most audacious operations of World War Two, orchestrated by Patrick Leigh Fermor, autodidact, writer and war hero. Artemis Cooper, biographer of Paddy, joins to discuss his early life, the operation, his walk through Europe and his writing.  Artemis Cooper Links Patrick Leigh Fermor: An Adventure Cairo in the War: 1939-45 Patrick Leigh Fermor Links 3 Books Collection Set (A Time of Gifts, Between the Woods and the Water, The Broken Road) Abducting a General: The Kreipe Operation and SOE in Crete Mani: Travels in the Southern Peloponnese Roumeli: Travels in Northern Greece Aspects of History Links Ollie on X Get in touch: history@aspectsofhistory.com Learn more about your ad choices. On the morning of June 10th, 1942 six armed men in three rubber dinghies filled with explosives, paddled ashore to a small beach near Malia, Crete. Their mission - to destroy as many planes as possible at the Luftwaffe Airbase at Heraklion. But already, the operation wasn't going to plan. They had landed in the wrong location and the occupied island was not only crawling with German soldiers but also Nazi spies the allies called Quislings.  This is the remarkable true story of the SAS's first seaborne operation. By the end, the six heroes were forced to play a deadly game of cat and mouse as the nazis and traitors, tried to capture the fleeing SAS operatives. Jane Lo speaks with Dimitris Angelakis, Chief Scientist and Founder (AngelQ Quantum Computing), Principal Investigator, CQT (Centre for Quantum Technologies, Singapore).AngelQ Quantum Computing is a quantum software and consulting company based in Singapore. AngelQ builds architecture-agnostic quantum and quantum inspired software solutions ready for company deployment. Example industries it works with are market and consumer research, finance, energy and sustainability, and supply chain. Angelakis completed his PhD in quantum physics at Imperial College in 2002 and his thesis received the UK Institute of Physics Quantum Electronics Thesis Prize that year. Since then, he has been leading quantum computing research teams in Cambridge, Greece and Singapore. His research awards include the 2018 Google Quantum Innovation Award and the Valerie Myerscough Award from University of London.Dimitris G. Angelakis joined CQT in 2009 as a Principal Investigator after being a regular visitor and collaborator of the quantum group since 2003. He was born and raised in a small farm in Chania, Crete, Greece, where his childhood curiosity for the wonders of nature led him to study physics in the University of Crete in Heraklion. In 1998 he was offered a PhD position in quantum optics to work with Sir Peter Knight FRS at Imperial College London supported by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation. His PhD work in quantum light-matter interactions received the Valerie Myerscough prize in 2000, and also the Institute of Physics UK prize in 2002. In 2001 and at age 25 he was elected college research Fellow at University of Cambridge (St Catharine's JRF) and worked in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics until 2007. A year after his move to Cambridge, the Centre for Quantum Computation in Cambridge was initiated by Artur Ekert, where he joined to work in implementations of quantum simulation and computation. In 2008 he took over a faculty appointment at his hometown Technical University of Crete, where he in now a tenured associate professor of Quantum Physics at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (part time since 2012). He is known among others for his pioneering work in quantum simulators using light-matter systems. He received the Google Quantum Innovation Prize in 2018.In this interview, Dimitris introduces the trends of Quantum Technology, pointing to the developments in 3 rapidly emerging pillars – Quantum Computing, Quantum Networks, Quantum Devices.Focusing on the area of Quantum Computing, Dimitris elaborates on how practical problems that require optimization, simulation and machine learning solutions would benefit from the speedup afforded by quantum technology.Hence, for organisations to be “quantum ready”, Dimitris suggests a key first step for organisations is identifying where there are existing problems relying on optimization – such as routing and navigation. In addition, Dimitris advises that transforming such problems to be “quantum ready” entails working with a quantum technology company to incorporate machine learning, and to co-design the quantum algorithms specific to the organisation's problem.Dimitris also stresses that quantum technology companies are working in partnerships with quantum hardware infrastructure providers to make quantum computing easily accessible to organisations via APIs. Such accessibility removes a major misconception that many have about quantum computing – that adoption requires acquiring specialized hardware. With the disruptive nature of quantum technology, the need to be “quantum ready” is crucial. As such, Dimitris reminds organisations that performance and speedups goals are part of an overall journey that is foremost about learning – and in this, finding the right partner and quantum startup to work with, is one of the keys to success.Recorded 7th June 2023, 2.30pm, Quantum Technology Summit (part of ATxSG), Singapore Expo.

Princess Cruises Hotel General Manager Simona Stumberger was selected to serve in this special role as an ambassador for Princess, because she epitomizes professionalism and always delivers service with a smile.A native of Slovenia where Stumberger studied hospitality management, she began her career at sea in the bar department and further diversified her hotel experience by working in guest services, and hand in hand with the hotel and food and beverage divisions. Stumberger has been with Princess Cruises for nearly five years. The float out completes the first comprehensive phase of construction for Sun Princess which now transitions to focus on building the ship's interiors. The 175,500-ton, 4,300-guest Sun Princess will offer an array of exciting new dining, entertainment and activity offerings, as well as luxurious staterooms and suites across a broad spectrum of categories. This creates a uniquely entrancing and customisable experience as guests control their own volume and switch between channels to hear different genres of music. This new offering also enables Cunard to take the nightclub proposition out of the main venues and into more unexpected places – transforming areas with parties in the Grand Lobby, on deck or other pop-up locations around the ship. And more...Join the show:If you have a cruise tip, burning question or want to record a cruise review get in touch with us via the website https://thebigcruisepodcast.com/join-the-show/ Guests: Chris Frame: https://bit.ly/3a4aBCg   Chris's Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ChrisFrameOfficialListen & Subscribe: Amazon Podcasts: https://amzn.to/3w40cDcApple Podcasts: https://apple.co/2XvD7tF Audible: https://adbl.co/3nDvuNgCastbox: https://bit.ly/2xkGBEI Google Podcasts: https://bit.ly/2RuY04u I heart Radio:  https://ihr.fm/3mVIEUASpotify: https://spoti.fi/3caCwl8 Stitcher: https://bit.ly/2JWE8Tz Pocket casts: https://bit.ly/2JY4J2M Tune in: https://bit.ly/2V0Jrrs Podcast Addict: https://bit.ly/2BF6LnE Hosted on Acast. Guests can recline into relaxation as the sauna helps boost circulation and metabolism while also removing toxins from the body. The sauna also effectively treats muscle stiffness and tension, including relief from backache, headache, and arthritis, by promoting the deep release of connective tissue and muscles. Thermal ExperiencesThe charcoal sauna is just one of eight thermal spa offerings available at the elevated Mandara Spa. Guests can also indulge in a series of blissful experiences such as a salt and steam room, as well as a gambit of Brand-first spa experiences including an Ice Room, Experiential Showers, a Flotation Salt Pool and Infrared Sauna. The Ice Room: After unwinding in the sauna or steam bath, guests can cool off in the refreshing Ice Room. The cold air helps to increase blood circulation, invigorate the respiratory tract, and strengthen the immune system.  The Experiential Showers: Multiple water jets and lighting effects help invigorate the body, lower body temperature, and stimulate blood circulation.Floatation Salt Pool: This treatment allows guests to fully relax all of their muscles while floating in warm water. An experience similar to experiencing zero gravity due to the buoyancy of the saltwater, the Floatation Salt Pool is beneficial for easing mental anxiety and muscle tension.  Infrared Sauna: Unlike traditional saunas that use conventional heat to warm the air, infrared saunas utilise infrared lamps to directly warm the body — and at lower temperatures than traditional saunas. The SOFC will reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) by about a further 30 percent compared with a conventional LNG engine without producing emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides or fine particles.  It also offers the advantage of being compatible with LNG, as well as several low carbon fuels such as types of methanol, ammonia and hydrogen. This project will form the building block for future larger installations and the beginning of an even closer collaboration between MSC Cruises and Chantier de L'Atlantique on R&D of fuel cell technology. The traditional coin ceremony tradition took place as the keel was laid for MSC Cruises' second LNG-powered ship, MSC Euribia, which will be one of the most environmentally high performing contemporary vessels built in France. Anne Claire Juventin Responsible for Quality Control from the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, and Valentina Mancini, Brand Manager from MSC Cruises performed the traditional maritime ritual as godmothers representing the ship owner and the shipbuilder when they placed two coins under the keel as the historical sign of blessing and good fortune for the project, and the ship's operational life at sea.The float out of MSC World Europa, which will be the first LNG-powered vessel to join the MSC Cruises fleet took place at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire where she will now be moved to a wet dock for work to continue on the ship until her delivery in November 2022.NCL Homeports in Panama City Norwegian Cruise Line, will become the first cruise line to homeport in Panama City, Panama, offering roundtrip Panama Canal voyages beginning 20 March 2022 with Norwegian Jewel.NCLK (Parent company of NCL) signed a multi-year agreement with the Panama Tourism Authority which allows the Company to seasonally homeport at the Colon Cruise Terminal as well as at Fuerte Amador Cruise Terminal located on the Pacific Ocean side of the country and adjacent to Panama City.In 2022 and 2023 the Company will offer 12 homeport voyages starting with Norwegian Jewel on 20 March 2022 where she will sail a nine-day itinerary traversing the Panama Canal and visiting incredible destinations including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Kralendijk, Bonaire and Cartagena, Colombia before arriving to the Caribbean side of Panama in the city of Colon.Starting 14 January 2023, Norwegian Gem will also feature select Panama Canal voyages including an 11-day journey visiting seven ports of call, including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands before ending in New York City. The campaign blends new luxury experiences with places and people at its heart, doubling down on a message of inclusivity. The campaign's television spot opens by posing the question, “How many precious moments have we missed?”, before taking the viewer on a journey filled with experiences and wonders one might not immediately associate with a cruise.Set to a remix of Louis Armstrong's iconic life-affirming ballad “What a Wonderful World,” the spot draws on the lyrics, enticing the viewer at every moment to return to experiencing the fullness of life.  The spot also reminds viewers that there are new safety considerations in today's travel environment that Celebrity Cruises takes seriously. Like many other travel brands, Celebrity Cruises paused its operations in March 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic took hold. After nearly 16 months, it became the first cruise operator to sail with passengers from both North America, and then, the first to sail from a U.S. port when Celebrity Edge left Fort Lauderdale on June 26 for a seven-night cruise of the Caribbean.https://youtu.be/uQet84z_quECarnival Corporation to Provide Convenient Access to Pre-Board Testing (USA only) The world's largest cruise company, today announced a new initiative making pre-board testing more convenient and accessible for its guests. Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises, and Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line, spoke to what the positive multidimensional impact the resumption of cruising means to Seattle, the local community and Alaska.Holland America Line will kicked off its Alaska season with Nieuw Amsterdam setting sail, July 24, and Princess Cruises followed with Majestic Princess sailing on July 25. Each line will operate ten cruises sailing out of Seattle through September. This marks the return to cruising and Alaska for both lines, which combined have more than 125 years of experience bringing cruisers to The Great Land. Historically, one in two guests who cruise to Alaska sail on Princess or Holland America. Both cruise lines have been homeporting out of the Port of Seattle for more than 20 years. Operationally, each ship visit directly contributes more than $364,000 to the local economy in provisioning (fuel, food, flowers, piano tuning, supplies), port taxes, and spending during a full season.Princess Cruises is the world's leading international premium cruise line and tour company operating a fleet of 14 modern cruise ships to 380 destinations around the globe. Princess celebrates more than 50 years sailing to Alaska, bringing more guests to the Great Land than any other cruise line. Holland America Line has been exploring the world since 1873 and was the first cruise line to offer adventures to Alaska and the Yukon nearly 75 years ago. Its fleet of premium ships visits more than 400 ports in 98 countries around the world, offering an ideal mid-sized ship experience.Princess Cruises Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Shore Power in JuneauPrincess Cruises made history when the cruise line introduced its revolutionary shore power program and began operations in partnership with the City and Borough of Juneau and Alaska Electric Light and Power Company in the summer of 2001. Now, 20 years later when Princess Cruises vessels arrive at the Franklin Dock, ships continue to “plug in” to local surplus hydroelectric power and turn off the diesel engines, reducing the impact of visible air emissions and the cruise line's carbon footprint in an effort applauded by local government officials and the residents of the capital city. The 20th anniversary milestone was recognized as Majestic Princess made her maiden call to the port of Juneau and commissioned to connect to the Juneau electrical grid. Princess Cruises President Jan Swartz, Majestic Princess Captain Dino Sagani, Alaska Electric Light and Power Company President and General Manager Connie Hulbert and Juneau Mayor Beth Weldon and City Manager Rorie Watt were in attendance.“Shore power in Juneau has been a significant win-win situation, not only for Princess but also for the customers of Alaska Electric Light and Power Company and the residents of the City and Borough of Juneau who have been incredible partners over the last 20 years,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president. “Our beneficial collaboration has paved the way for the cruise industry to reduce air emissions and allow cruise ships to ‘plug in.'”In addition to this investment, for the past 20 years, every dollar spent by Princess for purchasing electrical energy in Juneau has been credited to a cost of power adjustment, or COPA account. This credit is used to offset any diesel expenses in the next quarter, and any extra funds go back to residents and businesses in Juneau in the form of a rebate on electric bills. To date, this has benefitted the Juneau community by $8.5 million dollars. Each year, Princess ships plug in more than 300 shore power connections. This ground-breaking technology has now grown and is used by various cruise lines in port cities including Seattle (2005), Vancouver (2009), San Diego (2010), San Francisco (2010), Los Angeles (2011), New York (2012) and Halifax (2014), as well as internationally in Shanghai and Kristiansand, Norway, with more and more port cities becoming shore power enabled. The length of time needed to connect a ship to shore power and shut down the vessel's diesel generator is approximately 40 minutes after the ship has been secured at the dock. Once connected, the ship's engines are powered down and the ships relies on the local power system for all ship's services while in port. Holland America Line Takes Delivery of Highly Anticipated New Ship Rotterdam from FincantieriHolland America Line took delivery of Rotterdam today, July 30, 2021, officially making it the 11th ship in the fleet. It can be used to generate electrical power through a fuel cell, emitting only water vapor and heat. This type of ‘green' hydrogen holds great potential to contribute to the decarbonisation of the shipping industry, including cruising, whether in its pure form or as a hydrogen-derived fuel.Azamara Quest departs from Glasgow Ahead of the Brand's Return to ServiceAzamara, today announced that Azamara Quest® was the first of its ships to depart from Glasgow's Peel Port (King George V Dock), on the afternoon of July 26th, following thirteen months docked in the Scottish city. For over a year, Glasgow has been a safe haven for three of Azamara's fleet, Azamara Quest®, Azamara Journey® and Azamara Pursuit®, and in this time the ships and crew have enjoyed fantastic support from the local people and the authorities, businesses, including taxi companies, hotel owners and grocery stores. The ship sails for drydock in Cadiz, Spain to finalize preparations ahead of its return to service in August with five back-to-back Greece Country-Intensive® Voyages®; each seven-nights in length and a total of 18-late nights in port, including Santorini, Rhodes and Heraklion, Greece. Invitat special, Andreea Parcalabescu. NT Characters: Titus

For additional notes and resources check out Douglas’ website.IntroductionTitus was a major figure in Paul’s life, although not mentioned in Acts (which is selective). We come across him 13x in NT, 8 times in 2 Cor—also Gal, 2 Tim, Titus.Unlike Timothy, he had no Bible background. A true gentile!Paul, we notice, was effective at working with people from biblical background as well as with those who had no biblical conditioning—that is, pagans.Galatians 2:1-3  1 Then after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. 2 I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain. 3 Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek. No 1. first century issue: how much of Judaism must Gentiles observe? Similar confusion today with so-called “Messianic Judaism.” (Do we need to observe the Jewish Law?)Timothy and Titus are different cases—the apparent discrepancy is easily resolved with the principle of 1 Cor 9:22.2 Corinthians 2:12-13 12 Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me, 13 I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.Titus almost certainly carried the “painful letter” referred to in chapter 7.Communication took place by letter, envoy, personal visit, or conference. It isn't just that Paul misses Titus. Paul wants to know the impact of his “severe letter.”2 Corinthians 7:5-7    5 For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. 6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, 7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.Titus has relayed the good news.Titus wasn’t merely a messenger; he too was affected by the Corinthian response—“comforted.”[The famous repentance passage follows.]2 Corinthians 7:13-16   13  By all this we are encouraged. In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus was, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you. 14 I had boasted to him about you, and you have not embarrassed me. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting about you to Titushas proved to be true as well. 15 And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers that you were all obedient, receiving him with fear and trembling. 16 I am glad I can have complete confidence in you.Titus wasn’t just a mercenary; he loved the Corinthians. The relational bonding is key in a Christian leader. Knowledge of the Bible and personal consistency are not enough, particularly when serving in so broad a circle as Titus did.The Corinthians respected Titus as much as they respected Paul.2 Corinthians 8:6  So we urged Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part.He was entrusted with the matter of the famine relief collection—no small task. The Corinthians are donating to assist hungry Judean brothers and sisters.(The famine was predicted by the prophet Agabus in Acts 11:28.)2 Corinthians 8:16-17  Thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you. For Titus not only welcomed our appeal, but he is coming to you with much enthusiasm and on his own initiative.Titus's initiative reminds me of Onesiphorus in 2 Tim 1:17.We also may admire his enthusiasm. One man has enthusiasm for thirty minutes, another for thirty days, but it is the man who has it for thirty years who makes a success of his life.  Samuel Butler (1612-1680)These are great characteristics.Work on these things in the fellowship!2 Corinthians 8:23  As for Titus, he is my partner and co-worker among you…2 Corinthians 12:18  I urged Titus to go to you and I sent our brother with him. Titus did not exploit you, did he? Did we not walk in the same footsteps by the same Spirit?Paul can trust Titus. He is a true partner in the ministry.Titus1:4—Close relationship. “Child.”1:5—Entrusted him to appoint elders. It's reasonable to assume that Titus possessed the strength of character indicated in the list of qualities for church leaders1:13—Entrusted also to rebuke those teaching error.2:1—Paul trusted Titus to teach sound doctrine.2:15—"all authority" and “Let no one despise you”– Probably not because of Titus's youth, but because he wasn’t an apostle like Paul, only filling in in his place. Or perhaps because he lacked the intensive biblical background of his mentor.3:10-1—Paul also entrusted him to deal with divisive persons.3:12—"…do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there." This parallels Paul’s request to Timothy in 2 Tim 4. Suggests this is an important relationship to Paul.2 Timothy 4:10—Titus had gone to Dalmatia2 Tim is probably written after Titus. This is around 10 years later than 2 Corinthians.Titus is still in Paul's circle.Wrap-upAs one interpreter neatly observes, “Titus was… a troubleshooter, peacemaker, administrator, and missionary.”According to tradition, Titus died around the year 100, on the island of Crete. Skull of Titus is in Heraklion (?).What we can do:Be a support to Christian leaders. Respect the older men and women in our lives.Aim for character traits like enthusiasm and initiative.Stop making excuses for small thinking. Even if you weren’t brought up around the Bible—if you’re more of a Titus than a Timothy—God can still use you in powerful and important ways.

Welcome and thank you for listening to All Aboard The Dream Train. A dream storytelling podcast where people from all walks of life walk us through their dreams and how those dreams have affected them in their waking life. Where we explore the differences, similarities and connections between our dream life and our waking life.   In todays episode we hear from Paul Kalas.    I am a faculty member in the Astronomy Department at the University of California, Berkeley, and affiliated with the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California, and the Institute of Astrophysics in Heraklion, Crete.   My expertise is searching for planetary systems around nearby stars using direct imaging.  My methods involve data from the world’s most advanced observatories, such as the Hubble Space Telescope, Keck Observatory, the Gemini Telescopes, and ALMA. One remarkable image is the planetary system surrounding Fomalhaut (see below), which is a bright star located 25 light years away in the constellation Pisces Australis. Though direct images are difficult to obtain and currently quite rare, they provide unique and fundamental information about exoplanetary systems, such as: The masses of exoplanets, by analyzing how bright they appear and the properties of their orbits. Their composition, by analyzing the color of thermal emission from the planet, or by obtaining a spectrum. The origin of exoplanets, by comparing their current observed properties with simulations of how planets form in a circumstellar disk and subsequently evolve. Ultimately, these data will give us an empirical notion of how common or rare our own planetary system must be in our own galaxy and throughout the universe. ******************** Time stamps: 2:30 Mariam Webster definition of precognition   3:55 Pauls Hobbies and how is interest in astronomy began   4:55 what helps relax and unwind? Hi, hello and welcome to another amazing episode from Nerds Amalgamated. Once again we enjoy bringing you this slice of entertainment from the world of the NERD pop culture news, where all are welcome. We pause for a moment to pay our respect to the victims of the cowardly bombings in Sri Lanka over Easter. Also we pause to honour the ANZACs, those individuals who have helped defend Australia and New Zealand for over a century. First topic is from the Professor, and it is about an open source game making program that enables the creation of 8-bit type games. Useable on web-browsers and portable devices such as the Nintendo Gameboy (All trademarks acknowledged – so don’t sue us please Nintendo, Buck is still not happy with you). This is looking like a fun way of making your own games and also introducing coding and game development to a new generation. Then we look at a birthday celebration for Batman, 80 years old and still giving crime a beat down. Yep, there is a return of the quadrilogy from the 90’s to cinemas. So grab you friends, dig those happy pants out of the cupboard and shake up that hair spray and head on down. You get to see the two Michael Keaton Batman movies, followed by Val Kilmer and then George Clooney. We discuss Bat-nipple gate and how fun these movies were. Plus we hear how tragic Buck was at decorating his bedroom as a teenager. Next up we look at further plans to make use of CRISPR for gene editing, this time to prevent hereditary diseases. Say hi to the start of Gattaca folks, we have a group of mad scientists running around with questionable ethics who don’t watch movies. Next they will be telling us about how they want to remake dinosaurs and release them into the wild, like that other movie. Don’t these people ever learn to think about the consequences of their actions? We finish off with the usual shout out, remembrances, birthdays and events. As always take care of each other and stay hydrated.EPISODE NOTES:Sri Lankan Easter Bombing - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Sri_Lanka_Easter_bombingsAnzac Day - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_DayGB Studios - https://www.gbstudio.dev/ - https://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/bg1xej/gb_studio_is_an_opensource_visual_game_maker_to/Original Batman Quadrilogy - https://screenrant.com/batman-original-movie-quadrilogy-returning-theaters/CRISPR Human Gene Editing - http://discovermagazine.com/2019/may/repairing-the-futureGames Currently playingDJ– Mortal Kombat 11 – https://store.steampowered.com/app/976310/Mortal_Kombat11/Buck– Assassin’s Creed Unity - https://store.steampowered.com/app/289650/Assassins_Creed_Unity/Professor– Adrenaline the board game - https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/202408/adrenalineOther topics discussedAnzac Day road closures- https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/full-list-of-anzac-day-road-closures-in-brisbane/news-story/21e0848fde4b685faaa4a416adf98018Nintendo shuts down Emuparadise - https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/275146-retro-gaming-site-emuparadise-shuts-down-as-nintendo-hits-the-warpathNintendo shuts down Pokemon Uranium- https://www.polygon.com/2016/8/14/12472616/pokemon-uranium-taken-down-nintendoNintendo takes down Commodore 64 Remake of Super Mario Bros- https://www.kotaku.com.au/2019/04/nintendo-takes-down-c64-remake-of-super-mario-bros/Batman Movies- Batman (1989 film) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_(1989_film)- Batman Returns (1992 film) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Returns- Batman Forever (1992 film) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Forever- Batman & Robin (1995 film) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_%26_Robin_(film)Joker actors in Batman movies and other media- Jack Nicholson (1989 Batman film Joker) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Nicholson- Heath Ledger (2008 Batman film Joker) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heath_Ledger- Mark Hamill (1992 Batman: The Animated Series Joker) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_HamillAlicia Silverstone (Batgirl in Batman & Robin 1997)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alicia_SilverstoneActors portraying as Batman- Michael Keaton (1989 & 1992 Batman) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Keaton- Val Kilmer (1992 Batman) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Val_Kilmer- George Clooney (1997 Batman) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_ClooneyGattaca (1997 film)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GattacaDynamite also known as TNT – TriNitroToluene is a compound in dynamite but is not the same, there is another piece of trivia you can use in the trivia night to stump people- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DynamiteGuided bombs also known as Smart bombs, but smart bombs also have many other variants ranging from types of explosions, for example the bunker busters, to warhead variants on ICBMs which separate and loose multiple strikes over an extended area or separate targets.- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guided_bombEugenics- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EugenicsBrave New World by Aldous Huxley- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brave_New_WorldU.N findings: US Forces kill more Afghan Civilians than ISIS & Taliban in 2019- https://www.commondreams.org/news/2019/04/24/unprecedented-un-finds-us-backed-forces-killed-more-afghan-civilians-taliban-and?fbclid=IwAR3xU6beak4Ega5DO8VeaoF77-Mn3lPSR6m5E_Ibg8lhTPMYgC4MHkSoeiAImage comparison of Mortal Kombat Sonya Blade (MK 9 vs MK 11)- https://am21.akamaized.net/tms/cnt/uploads/2019/01/Sonya-Blade.jpgFrank Welker (voice actor)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_WelkerCary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (actor)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cary-Hiroyuki_TagawaMK 11 Skins total cost = $6440- https://www.vg247.com/2019/04/24/mortal-kombat-11-skin-price-6440/Ed Boon’s response to total cost of MK 11 skins- https://twitter.com/noobde/status/1121243237388357632Mortal Kombat 11 voice cast list- https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9398566/Master Chief (Halo character)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_Chief_(Halo)Last chance to download Assassin’s Creed Unity for free (Now expired)- https://www.gamespot.com/articles/last-chance-to-get-assassins-creed-unity-for-free-/1100-6466327/Star Trek Beyond (2016 film) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek_BeyondDid Shakespeare write his own plays- https://www.history.com/news/did-shakespeare-really-write-his-own-playsShirley Temple (drink)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirley_Temple_(drink)Email Bomb (internet virus)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_bombMonkey selfie copyright dispute- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkey_selfie_copyright_disputeKanellos Kanellopoulos (Greek cyclist who piloted the 1988 MIT Daedalus project)- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanellos_KanellopoulosShoutouts20 Apr 1887 - World's First Motor Race, Georges Bouton “won the world’s first motor race” with a steam-powered quadricycle.
