We often misunderstand seasons, expecting constant harvest when sometimes God has us in winter—a season of rest, trust, and investment rather than visible fruit. Winter doesn't mean something is wrong; it means the soil is resting, roots are deepening, and pruning is happening to make room for future growth. Just as farmers rest the land, tend the vines, and repair their tools in winter, God uses these seasons to heal hearts, strengthen foundations, and prepare us for what's next. When we change the meaning of winter from failure to formation, frustration gives way to peace and hope. Learning to embrace "winter" allows us to trust God in hardship, knowing that new life and harvest are being prepared beneath the surface.
So often when we worry or are confused we go to the world for answers. Or we go to works to try and force the hand of God. In the story of the prodigal son, both brothers miss out on the blessing in the house for different reasons. Seek God first and watch His grace and blessing fill your life.
The great test and struggle of this life on earth is to walk in sync with heaven. When our lives are in sync we experience God's hand of blessing and heaven flows to earth in our lives. When we are out of sync, we miss God's best for our lives.

There used to be a very popular board game called “snakes and ladders” where it was a race to the finish, first finished wins the game. Ladders accelerated your climb, whereas the snakes caused you to lose territory. In this powerful message, Ps. Jurgen takes about this Biblical principle.
In Psalm 126, God is revealed as the God who restores the fortunes squandered by previous generations through idolatrous living. Many generations have to seemingly ‘begin again' because the poor choices, vices, and infidelities of the previous generations.
