Sunday sermons from Community Church in Buchanan, Virginia
When we talk about evidence for the existence of God often people want to alter the way we define evidence to include inclusively first hand sighting of God. People will argue that no one has ever seen God so how can we prove he exists? Well, if we use that reasoning the same may be said about George Washington. No living person today has ever seen him so how do we know he exists? There is evidence of his existence. We have documentation not only from him but from collaborating witnesses who lived during his time who confirmed his existence by referring to him in their writings.
Now none of the Christians throughout history would have agreed they were oppressing those that were on the receiving end of injustice. In fact, pastors who preached that slavery was unjust and not Biblical were deemed liberals and teaching heresy.

Today we are going to take a look at a Prophet who got a vision from the Lord and it influenced not only him but an entire nation, in fact it still influences people today. We’ll discuss how God helps us see our own vision and meet that vision.
Learn how you can have confidence of your salvation and that you are going to heaven.
As Christians shouldn’t we be different? Shouldn’t we be distinct, separate, not the same, out of the ordinary, unusual? Christ was distinct, separate, out of the ordinary, and he called his followers to be like him.
Sometimes God’s promises can seem far off and even unobtainable. Our circumstances can take turns that make us question God and feel like we need to give him a hand. Today we’ll be examining the life of Joseph. We’ll learn from his life what we are to be doing while we wait and how to recognize when God is moving.
Most of us are no strangers to discouragement. Many have experienced times when discouragement has turned into despair and hopelessness. The main trouble with despair is that it’s self fulfilling. People who fear the worse tend to invite it. Every person who’s ever lived has dealt with discouragement from time to time. We all experience days when we just don’t feel like carrying on or that we feel depressed, defeated or fearful. I have days when I just don’t want to be a Pastor, I have days when I feel like maybe God made a mistake or honestly I just don’t care if he made a mistake or not I just don’t want to do it.
There is a little book, long out of print, called Expectation Corner, tells of a king who prepared a city for some of his poor subjects. Not far away he constructed a large storehouse where everything they needed would be supplied if they would only send him their requests. There was one condition, however: they should constantly be on the lookout for his messengers so that when they came with the gifts in answer to their urgent pleas, the petitioners would always be found waiting and ready to receive them. One faithless subject, not actually expecting to get what he asked for, never watched for their delivery. One day he was taken to the king’s storehouse; and there, to his amazement, he saw scores of packages that had originally been made ready for him. The messengers had come to his door, but because he was not looking for them, the king’s gifts never satisfied his needs. Sometimes God makes us wait for things, simply because we are so unbelieving and wishy-washy in the way we ask for His heavenly favors. Many miss out on desired blessings because they close themselves in the gloomy chambers of doubt. Or their real expectations are that while they would like to trust God, the reality is that they don’t, so they just go through the motions
