    Clara Brown: Pro cyclist preparing for Tokyo Para Olympics and getting children out on the bike!

    When Clara Brown was 12, she was a competitive gymnast. A serious accident and a spinal cord injury paralyzed her from the neck and put an end to her gymnastics career.  Luckily the injury was incomplete meaning that through hard work and perseverance Clara has been able to regain a lot of her mobility and today she is back as a competitive para cyclist for Team USA and getting ready for the Tokyo olympics in August 2021.     How cycling is changing lives in Sierra Leone!

    Abdul Karim Kamara is making a difference! And we're not just talking minor differences. He is the tireless community driver in Sierra Leone, where he is improving the lives of people with bicycles. He delivers learn-to-ride classes for girls who otherwise wouldn't know  how to ride, because of cultural perceptions about women on bicycles.  He's the country manager for Village Bicycle Project in Sierra Leone, distributing donated bikes to kids who live far from a school and would otherwise walk 3 hours there and 3 hours back, missing half the school day in the process. He is running the biggest cycling team in the country. And he is organising Tour de Lunsar - the biggest race in West Africa.     Michael Rasmussen: Can someone who admit doping make a difference for teenage cyclists?

    Was he doped or not? Well... he was. One of the most dramatic events in the history of Tour de France, was when Michael Rasmussen was pulled out of the race by his own team (Rabobank) in 2007 after he had just won the queen stage, was in yellow and the path to the overall victory was clear! Hear Michael tell about why it then took six years to come clean. Not just clean, but breaking any code of silence (omerta) that might exist in the professional peloton. Today he is a full time teacher at a Danish boarding school, where he - among other subjects - is coaching 15-16 year olds in mountain biking.     Christian Gyldenøhr: Paralyzed by crash, but never been closer to an Olympic medal!

    When an injury ended Christian's career as professional soccer player in the Danish Superliga he turned to cycling. This took a dramatic turn on August 24th, 2019 when a crash paralyzed him from the waist and down. During those two hours he was already looking ahead to a new life in a wheelchair and began a mental healing process.     Nick Frendo: The cycling mental health advocate

    Nick is a mental health ambassador for Movember. He has his own history of mental health challenges - including two suicide attempts - and he is true to this in social media as well. Through cycling Nick has managed to reach a large audience with his message around mental health and how to tackle it. Suicide attempts are much more frequent among men than women and Nick has learned that people (especially men) are much better to open up when side by side on a bike. He is doing a great job in getting the message across that we all have to be open and talk - and check in with each other.
