It's the day after the election that we all stayed up very late looking at and some of the decisions are still kind of transitioning into reality. But we do know, essentially right now, the House of Representatives is going to be taken by the Republican Party, and I'm getting my phone blowing up from people who are freaking out about what it was that happened in the last 24 hours. I understand I get as emotional as anybody else. But the fact of the matter is, each of these races is going to be run on its own term. And each of these races is going to function on its own term. And you kind of just have to take a look at what the ground looks like, right you have in a state like South Carolina, you know, the Republicans romp in a state like North Carolina, you get some Democrat pickups, but you keep Ted bud with the Republican seat therein in the Senate. You see a number of places where the Jobs got done. The jobs were to, retain the seat and you've now got a couple of seats that are kinda up for consideration right Laxalt looks like he's doing pretty well. We don't know what's going to happen with Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock though I would guess that that's going to be a runoff. And you've got obviously what happened in Florida, which is huge. I mean, what happened in Florida was, it was I'm not gonna say life-changing, but it was essentially, you know, a political earthquake. But you will get that when you get 600,000. Republicans moved into the state of Florida because everybody locked every other state down in the Northeast. Hogle won her seat. Whitmer won her seat, and Gavin Newsom won his seat. So there you got three real possibilities as governors took to run on the Democratic side of the ticket. But what people are so upset about and I detect this are the races like Oz, right Mastriano, and eyes although Mastriano never really had a chance. I mean, I'm sorry, but that particular Democrat was running on his own plan. And Mastriano kind of played into it very well. Not saying he colluded, but this guy was not an optimal candidate for the governorship of Pennsylvania. Sorry. You've got JD Vance. Beating Tim Ryan. I mean, that's a big deal. You've got Stacey Abrams being routed and Beto getting routed for like the third time, the fourth time in six years. I mean, it's insane what we're seeing. That is what's taking place out there. But I want to address this issue about you know, the margins aren't going to be big enough. 24 hours ago, there was a huge expectation that there was going to be a red wave a big red wave. You watch the Super Bowl. Do you ever watch the Super Bowl? Do you ever watch the World Series? Have you ever watched the NBA Finals? How hockey Chino hockey's NHL championships? Do you ever watch that stuff? Do you ever do you see a whole lot of like massive swamping victories? No, you typically get right, you typically get an evenly-matched couple of teams in the Super Bowl facing off against each other. Why? Because they had to go through the meat grinder of the NFC and the AFC, and they come together. And there's a game that is played there. There are very, very, very few games, like the bears destroying the Patriots or Dallas, destroying the bills. Very, very few games like that take place, and these elections, when you have got as many issues on the table as you've got. And you've essentially got to America is bound by the US Constitution. It's going to be a tight fight. But there's a bright spot. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The purpose of Congress is to check the executive branch. That's a fact. And this is an opportunity to review the executive branch, which has I mean, let's be honest, spent trillions and trillions of dollars giving you an inflation crisis and a number of other things that are out there. So as we sit back, and we take a look at what it is that we're going to see in the next 2448 72 hours, it's essential to understand sort of what the stakes are and how it is that we got here. It's interesting to know that you have a current president, the most recent former president, the president before that President, and the President before that President. So that's a fancy way of saying the people that have been out there on the campaign trail are Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Bill Clinton. The Clintons have the highest possible stakes in this race next to Joe Biden. And in some ways, I think the Clintons are maybe carrying a much greater burden than even Joe Biden because Joe Biden will wake up on Wednesday, and will still be President of the United States Bill and Hillary Clinton, this is really your last hurrah for any kind of relevancy. She's, she's not going to run for 2024. If, if it appears that she's run out of real estate, and run out of energy. And so that's, that's the problem. I think a Democrat wipeout opens the doorway, to the Hillary Clinton wing of the party to come in and say, All right, you know what, we tried it this way, it didn't work, we went way too radical. It's not working. In many ways. It's a test of the Obama legacy. And remember, Joe Biden is an extension of the Obama legacy that's that much is not in dispute. But there are a couple of things that really are not being addressed that I wanted to talk about, sort of in this closing kind of look at this election. And one of these things is the intelligence community.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
I believe you can have a red wave and a blue wave. And seriously, I'm not joking around at all. Not a joke, as President Biden likes to say. You can have both and I'm gonna explain to you how you can have both. There are going to be placed in this country where blue, blue folk are going to do very, very well. And I'm telling you where it's going to be California because California is about the only place that you can actually afford to be liberal people that are in California that are the movers the shakers you know you're Gavin Newsom is your Nancy Pelosi is your Paul Pelosi is Barbara boxer's DiFi and Company. These are all unbelievably wealthy human beings, those people can afford to be liberals. Because you have got to be filthy rich, to be able to afford liberalism. I'm not kidding, when I talk about that. I'm absolutely serious. The average working person cannot afford to be in bed with the liberals, you don't have enough commas in your bank account. That's the great lie that's been told for a long period of time. I do believe that. Once upon a time, there were Democratic politicians who did care about the working man, the survival of the underclass, and all that sort of stuff. But that went away in the 1930s. That went away in the 1930s. Once you get into World War Two and beyond the post-war world, liberals, liberals were JFK and I'm talking at the classical liberal sort of definition. JFK, the Kennedys, right? You look at the first family of the blue culture, Prince scourers. You got Zuckerberg, you've got Bezos, you've got all these people that have made their money in technology or made their money in entertainment or any of that stuff. They can afford to be liberal you as an average person cannot. Unless you're making north of I mean, I think you've got to be making north of 750 a year to even get into that table. That is the left and I'm not putting anybody down. I'm not putting the rich liberals down and I'm not putting the folks that cannot quite afford liberal policies now. Now, why do I say this? And I'm gonna give you a great example because you got the Paul Pelosi thing happening. Okay. And I'll let you take a look at the Today Show reporting on Paul Pelosi when he was attacked at his house. And it turns out like he wasn't like yelling and screaming about this weirdo being in his house. Here's a report from the Pelosi is home back at the house that became a crime scene a week ago today.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It was predictable overnight, as a President Joe Biden gave his closing pitch to the American people by basically threatening the democracy not not that he was threatening the democracy, but he was talking about the threats to the democracy. And the fact is, you know, that the January 6 thing we all know what happened. We remember what happened. I don't believe that there's a risk of January 6 happening again, I think the cooler heads have prevailed at this point. And if you want to pick out a few random losers, who, who still want to try to engage in political violence, well, then they're going to end up probably within a, you know, with an appointment with a judge. At some point, most of the people I know I'm on either side of the aisle are not looking for political violence. I'm not looking for political violence. I'm not interested in political violence. I am somebody who has proudly come out and said, over the period of the last few years, there are people who just who shouldn't be involved in politics are too immature, or they're too dumb, or they're criminally inclined.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I don't even I'm not even comfortable. Honestly, I'm not even comfortable thinking about what could happen to Paul Pelosi in any way, shape, or form. It's like 85 years old. You know this is a problem. And if you don't think that California is brimming with these people, you're out of your mind. You are out of your mind. If I'm Paul Pelosi, when I get out of the hospital, I'm calling Nance and I'm saying Nance, we're getting the heck out of here. We're either going to go DeCamp to our vineyard with our high walls and our undocumented workers, or too soon, or, or we're going to go someplace, we're going to the villages. We're gonna go to America's friendliest hometown where they don't hammer smack Yeah, I mean, that's really it's a terrible situation. Now, that's all I'm gonna say about this because this story is going to develop over the next weeks and months.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Is there an LGBTQ way to pay your taxes? Is there a is there an African American Way or Hispanic or Asian American way to pay your taxes? Is there a male way to pay your taxes a female way to pay your taxes a transgender way to pay your taxes? The answer to all those questions is no. In the same way that there's not an African American or a gay way to buy a car or buy a house get a mortgage. I mean, I understand that there are programs that exist inside the federal government that is trying to encourage diversity of neighborhoods and, and things like that. But I have never, and I'm going all the way back as far as I can think. I have never seen a two-tracked campaign run between the two parties that are so unbelievably different. If I ask 10 random people at any Walmart in America, that means it could be a rural Walmart, it could be a suburban Walmart, it could be an urban Walmart. And I asked people what they cared about in this current election cycle. I think they'd probably say inflation, I think they'd probably say crime. I think a percentage would say immigration, you'd get a couple of people say abortion. But I don't think diversity, like as a standalone issue is on the ballot. I think the issues that are facing people in this country are how do I feed my kid? How do I keep my family safe? How do I afford expensive gasoline? And how do I protect myself if Vladimir Putin decides he's going to send a nuke into the United States of America? And yet, on the other side of the aisle, whatever other side of the aisle there is? You've got people who are obsessed, and I mean, literally obsessed with identity politicsSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
I mean, I'm a big believer in encouraging people to get out there and vote just don't vote more than once. And don't vote if if you're not legally in the United States of America, but I encourage participation in the franchise of voting. It's what makes this country great. It's what brings about sort of a sense of relief based on results, although the results don't always go the way you want them to go. And I mean, that's, that's simple. It's that easy to understand, not really shocking in any way, shape, or form. Many people will tell you, Joe Biden is on the ballot this year. And what they mean by that is, it's you know, metaphorically speaking, Joe Biden is on the ballot, because Joe Biden's policies are on the ballot. And Joe Biden's policies are pretty bad. Now, over the last 24 hours, there has been a remarkable emphasis on identity politicking. And that's a problem. That's a substantial problem. When you think about this, President Biden has been obsessed. Since he got the nomination for the Democratic nomination for president and then got elected to the presidency. He has been obsessed with identity politics, it's what drives him more than anything else in the entire world. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Devious Motives Podcast: Foreign Policy Has Been Ignored, how did we get hereForeign policy component has been left completely alone. And remember, it's Joe Biden, President Biden, who was was famous for being you know, Mr. Foreign policy guy, he, he he knew all the, the leaders around the world. He's been in the Senate for 50 years, all that sort of stuff, right? We all know what that narrative was. And I'm not, I'm not just gonna sit here and take potshots, but I am giving you guys actual real based analysis here. Okay. reality based analysis. So President Biden was supposed to be this, like super smart guy, Kamala Harris was supposed to be this transcendent figure who was going to be the president after Joe Biden was done being the president. And she, she understood the social and domestic issues that we need to pay close attention to. But I want to go back to 2021. Before we look at 2022. And here's what I want to look at. I'm not talking J six, because everybody's talking about J. Six on TV. All that sort of stuff I want to talk about is what was the narrative that Joe Biden was pushing, really, from, like, let's say, April, May of 2021, onward, it was America's back.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The three big issues that are being talked about right now in the United States as we get ready for this election, continue to be the economy, crime, and of course, inflation. Now, on the Democrat side of the equation, it continues to be what's described as abortion, right, the abortion issue or choice. But I mean, I think we could just call it the termination of pregnancy policy. Right. I mean, which is essentially what this is, it's being offered up by the left and Joe Biden making a speech in the last 24 hours about the importance of codifying Roe vs. Wade. It was decided in 1973. He had 50 years to codify. It just never got around to doing it, I guess. So now, he's going to make that the number one issue, the number one issue for the return to power of the Democrats in the House in the Senate. And I'm telling you right now, if I were a woman who had as my main issue, pregnancy termination, I would be upset, because they know what the polls look like. They know the polls look like, Republicans are going to take the house, maybe take the Senate as well. And they're basically just telling you, we'll see, they want this thing to be kept as an issue because they don't have anything else. Inflation is killing people in this country. The strategic petroleum reserves are being tapped, Joe Biden said as much, we've gone from 485 million barrels all the way down to whatever it was in 1984. In this episode of the Devious Motives podcast, Brett takes a deep dive into the advertising and messaging in this election. Brett breaks down what it is you need to know about the way the candidates are being sold to America. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It's incredible to look at the cycle that's taking place. But one of the things I want to get into is stuff that is a little bit off the beaten path, in terms of issues that that really should matter to you. We haven't done a deep dive into the foreign policy component of this upcoming election, foreign policy is hugely important. You have just spent whether you like it or not $80 billion arming the people of Ukraine. And that's a substantial and important point because while the American people are incredibly generous once you start getting into 8090 100 200 $300 billion in aid going out, that is a humongous problem. And so the question at this point becomes, okay, what senators? And what Congress people do you trust, when it comes to the questions of funding and financing wars? Remember, we are involved in Ukraine, Ukraine is not a NATO ally. We are in there with other NATO allies who are closer in proximity than then we are obviously, we have offered up a ton of weapons. They've been very effective against the Russians. That is, that is a huge, huge point, right? And that's a good thing. But now on Monday, October 17, which is the day this is being recorded if you're hearing this in the future, on Monday, October 17. We see in the morning, an explosion of kamikaze-style missiles being shot into Kyiv. And around Ukraine. These are Iranian manufactured missiles, Iranian-manufactured missiles. And it's a big deal because we are now basically funding both sides of the war. How do I explain that to you? Well, here's how I explained that to you. During the Obama Biden administration, they gave, you know billions of dollars in financial relief to Iran, Iran took that money and didn't upgrade their communities didn't make better opportunities for women. That's why you see them in the streets today, rejecting the boot heel of the mullahs, you saw a whole ton of stuff take place, you funded a lot of the repression and the crackdowns that were taking place inside of Iran. I know you don't want to believe that. But you sponsored with the money that we loaded onto pallets, in violation of American law. We funded torture, rape, murder, terrorism, abuses of unspeakable depths, in Syria, you name it, all that stuff. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps is still very, very active in that part of the world. And we helped to fund that. And what did the Russians have to say about any of it? Well, they helped with the attack inside of Syria, targeting communities that they didn't much like because they want that warm, warm, warm water port on the Mediterranean. But it's important to understand who it is that's going to be the President of the United States, who it is that's going to be the members of Congress and the Senate, and what are their objectives going to be. What are their policies going to be? And so I just want you to understand that there are two approaches when it comes to dealing with Ukraine when it comes to dealing with Iran when it comes to dealing with Xi Jinping. And the President of the United States has never been right on a single foreign policy idea and is going to take us in exactly the wrong direction. And the Congress is going to have to be there to say no, no, we're not. We're not doing this. I'm not saying we're cutting off aid to Ukraine, but we're going to at least have a debate and a discussion about it. We're going to at least have a debate and discussion about the cartels. We're gonna have at least a debate and discussion about a wide open border, which is really there's a hilarious bid, by the way, that was put out in the last 24 hours 100 My orcas is blaming Republicans for telling people the border is open. He says Our administration is messaging at the border is closed. And the Republicans in the administration, the Republicans in the government, Ted Cruz, etc. are running around telling people to come here illegally, because they keep saying the border is open, when in fact it's closed. That's nonsense. That's nonsense. In fact, there were reports over the weekend that indicate that you've got the Department of Homeland Security looking to try to contract with the Department of Defense to do garbage cleanup at the border. Let me say that again. In case you missed it do Garbage clean up at the border and to run out and get prescription drugs and things like that for migrants who have been detained.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Overnight we had an interview take place with Jake Tapper, the president united states hit a bunch of different things. It absolutely ignored the border issue, which I guess you kind of had to ignore that issue if you were the president of the United States. Because let's be honest, let's be serious about this. The border is a you know what disaster, it is a complete and total disaster of epic proportions. I don't know what the policy is supposed to be. I don't know, the way out for this. I think it's catastrophic. What we're dealing with here. And it'll only be known once we have a clearer picture of how many people have actually gotten into the country in an illegal fashion. I don't believe it's more than 15% that are legitimate refugees. At most, I think it's probably closer to 7% that are actual refugees that are actually trying to seek refuge from persecution, all that sort of stuff.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Welcome I am Brett Winterble. It is devious motives episode number seven season number three great to be here with you on this beautiful day across the United States of America. How do I know it's a beautiful day where you are because we are living in the land of freedom and liberty? And that's a hugely important blessing that we need to remember no matter what, as much as we go at it politically, and we try to throw down and have fights and all that kind of stuff. The reality is, we're really blessed to be in this country. I mean, my gosh, what are the odds? I say this and people, kind of roll their eyes at me. But I said, What are the odds you're born at this time in this place in this country? I mean, it's really trillions and trillions to one. You could have been dinosaur food a long time ago. But I digress. And the politicking is coming fast and furiously. Coming up. Later on. In this episode, I've got a conversation I did. With Ward Connerly. Ward Connolly is an African American businessman and former University of California regent. This is a very, very serious man who takes issues of opportunity very, very seriously. He's a conservative thinker, and was based in California, as you might imagine being a region in the UC system. And he has brought a case to the Supreme Court, along with a group of other folks who are suing over affirmative action, because of the denial of Asian students at Harvard and UNC.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this Devious Motives let's talk about what you want and what you need!I want to start with a critique generally, so be for both parties. As it relates to the idea of debates. I don't know that debates are necessary any longer. I feel like it's an outmoded, outdated, sort of a thing that's gone on here. Now. I feel like debates are a relic of the past. Unless you're going to get a group of citizens asking the questions. We don't need professional moderators. Getting in there and asking the questions. I think a town hall is probably more effective, it's a lot more unpredictable. The job of being a politician is unpredictable. This is not like being a teacher who has a lesson plan and you follow the lesson plan each and every day. This isn't like an accountant or a lawyer, you're going to have crises jump up from time to time, that are going to have to be handled in pretty much in real time without panic without freaking out. All that sort of stuff. And so I think the proper place to have the discussions that we have heard from President Biden, just in these last couple of days are the the town halls the meetups, with the people out there asking the questions, and of course, you're gonna get Kooks and wackos who who want to talk about Hollow Earth or something like that. And I don't mean to disrespect people who want to talk about Hollow Earth, but I do think inflation energy access. I do think those sorts of things, the explosion of crime in our country are all much, much, much more relevant than they are.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Politics is never conducted in a vacuum. You say something, there's a reaction, somebody is offended, somebody is impacted, somebody has decided to take a counter position of some sort. And this has been made abundantly clear. As we look back to last weekend. Much was made about hurricane Ian and the impacts that we were going to see as a result of the storm coming in. But there was another storm that only flashed for a brief moment in time. And that storm was the storm involving vice president Kamala Harris, making an outstanding tour to Northeast Asia. You'll recall, many of the pundits laughed this off, many of the critiquers laughed us off. I played the clip a couple of times, where vice president Kamala Harris, going to pay her respects to Shinzo Abe's funeral there in Japan, stopping off in South Korea going to the DMZ and then of course, acknowledging it mistakenly, of course, we understand that, that the North Koreans were one of our long term allies. Well, you know, this is a real problem. Last week, Kamala Harris made a major blunder in calling North Korea our ally. And in the last 72 hours, they've replied by testing missiles, they're shooting missiles at Japan. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Welcome to Devious Motives, season three, that 22 big stories and issues leading up to the 2022 Election, as we'll be documenting the ebbs and flows of how this stuff is going on between now and right up to election day, we may even do a post mortem. Once we know what the results look like in this upcoming midterm election, it's important to understand what the core issues are, in this election, you have a third of the Senate up for election, and you have the entirety of the House of Representatives up for election, and you've got a good percentage of seats open in this midterm year, in the governor's mansions, and in state offices around the country, it is interesting to see the issues that are sort of percolating there under the surface, you know, most of them already, including, of course, inflation in the economy, the border, policing and public safety, climate change, defense of the democracy, and a myriad of other issues that are also at the same time being driven inside states themselves. But we know really what's going on here in this upcoming election. It's a proxy war. It's a proxy war, by and large, by two main actors. President Joe Biden will be up for reelection in 2024. And, of course, former President Donald Trump, who continues to campaign though not an admitted or declared candidate for the presidency in 2024. He's still out there doing a whole lot of rallies. In this episode of Devious Motives Brett Winterble analyzes key elements of the Taliban press conference held in just these last hours.
