Welcome to a brand new episode of the ¿Quién Tú Eres? podcast, where we explore the conflict we often face between "professionalism" & being our authentic selves. This week's guest is Juliana Londoño. Juliana Londoño is a proud Latina, bilingual, and licensed mental health therapist in NJ. Her business focuses on the intersectionality of mental health and the Latino/BIPOC communities. Her mission is to bring awareness, education, and resources through various outlets. Juliana has served as a thought leader, keynote speaker, and podcast guest.    In this week's episode, Juliana shares her experiences as a Latina woman in mental health spaces. At the beginning of her career, she felt pressured to give in to respectability politics. Now as a licensed therapist, she focuses on representing authenticity within herself so that her clients can feel comfortable working with her. Considering that only 10% of therapists can speak Spanish, she is often a beacon of light for Latine clients.  Follow Juliana on:  Website: www.juliana-londono.com  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/juliana-londono18/  Instagram: @julianalondono18_  TikTok: @julianalondono18 Follow Pabel on: Website: https://plurawl.com/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/plurawl/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@plurawl  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/plurawl/  Keep up with the podcast:  Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/quientueres/message  Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/quientueres/support Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST. Amidst the passing of United States' most restrictive abortion law in Texas, Ella, Elan, Emily, and Celia thought it would be a good idea to not only touch on the implications of the new legislation in the U.S, but also how reproductive rights compare abroad. According to the Center for Reproductive Rights' map of "The World's Abortion Laws," the Latin American region had some of the most restrictive abortion laws, so it felt fitting for the group to educate themselves as to why. The group had an incredibly productive conversation, so this topic will be split into two parts. In Part Two, we will continue our conversation on Latin American countries' policy, as well as the general human right's arguments surrounding reproductive rights.

On Labor Day in 1921, women across the nation were - for the first time - registering to vote in state primary elections. They had, just a year earlier, won this right and were now arming themselves for the next battle: equal pay for equal work.Meanwhile, in the east coast beach resort of Atlantic City, nine "beauty maids" were competing in what would become the first ever Miss America Pageant. These contestants, as young as 16 years of age, hoped to win - among other prizes - a golden trophy worth more than many professional, skilled women earned in a year. And, while this chasm between women's priorities loomed large in Atlantic City, it was hardly the only social dichotomy. In 1921, nearly 12% of the nation's workforce was unemployed - a fact lost on the wealthy industrialists, socialites and political power brokers who'd arrived at the resort in luxury excursion trains, fancy new motorcars and yachts.Truth is, among the monied class in Atlantic City on Labor Day 1921, thoughts were on everything BUT the men and women on whose labor this nation relied. In this episode, Stephanie tells the story of the first Miss America pageant, and its tone deafness toward what was happening to rest of America - working women, in particular. To subscribe to Stephanie Hoover Has That Story, visit: https://www.stefhoover.com/stephanie-hoover-podcast.html.

Foster also edited two volumes on gender in early America: Women in Early America and New Men: Manliness in Early America, as well as a ground-breaking edited volume on LGBTQ history, Long Before Stonewall, and an edited collection of primary sources, Documenting Intimate Matters: Primary Sources for a History of Sexuality in America.
