This episode is an interview with Emma Morris. She's a nutritionist based in Brisbane, founder of women's health clinic Maia Mothers, and a new mother herself. Emma and her business partner, Monique Peters, have done something special with the clinic they built just one year ago, holding women through preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and other phases of life through holistic and complementary modalities. In our chat, Emma explains what kinesiology and homeopathy are (concepts I had previously never managed to grasp), the holistic care process she and her colleagues take a women through, and why women are getting lost in our western healthcare system. @maiamothers.collective @emmamorris_nutrition maiamothers.com.au Learn more about Ecolust Life - Pregnancy and Postpartum Yoga Coaching at www.ecolustlife.com I'd love for you to follow and leave the show a rating and review on Apple Podcasts. This episode is an interview with Alana Mulhall, co-founder of Mothers Mylk and co-author of Nourished Postpartum. Alana Mulhall is a Naturopath specialising in Women's Health, Hormonal Conditions, Preconception and Fertility. What I love about Alana is that you can tell she is so fired up by women's wellbeing and giving them the tools to overcome the challenges we face in pregnancy and motherhood. She's a mother herself, she's so full of wisdom and she's so generous with her knowledge. We spoke about the gaps in postpartum care in our western healthcare system, the impacts she's seeing on women, we delved into postpartum rage, thyroid dysfunction, depletion, and - as she's currently 9 weeks pregnant with her second baby - exactly what she's doing herself for her own wellbeing in pregnancy and how she's preparing for postpartum. https://www.alanamulhallnaturopath.com.au/ https://mothersmylk.co/ https://www.instagram.com/mothersmylk.co/ Book your free consult with Ecolust Life - Pregnancy and Postpartum Yoga Coaching at www.ecolustlife.com Love the podcast? In this episode, I'm sharing my pregnancy story with Arthur. I think it's beneficial to share our experiences, for ourselves to process what we go through and for others to learn from our experiences. and there's an onus on sharing our birth stories, which I also think is important, but I don't often hear people telling the story of their pregnancies, maybe because they're so long, maybe because we're encouraged to downplay the struggles of pregnancy. I can look at my pregnancy in hindsight, having since become qualified in prenatal and postnatal yoga, and understand better what I went through, why those things occurred, and what I could have done differently to make things better. I know some of the challenges I had are common, so I'd love to share my lessons and better prepare you if you're going through the same thing. Today's episode is about meditation for motherhood. I don't think I need to tell you that meditation is good for you and that we really ought to do it. We know that; there are myriad studies proving its benefits. Instead, I talk about how meditation applies to motherhood and techniques to develop a meditation practice, despite being on call to a tiny, demanding human. I'll also explain how meditation fits into the yoga landscape. I'm talking to Beth Glancey, General Manager of AirRobe, a new platform that's helping brands and consumers participate in the circular economy and keep fashion out of landfill. It's a free service that we can start using right now in two ways. You can re-sell your items or you can shop pre-owned items. And what's different about this is the airrobe technology and their partnerships with brands, like The Iconic and The Memo, are making it really easy to extend the life of your purchases, to buy quality items at a cheaper price, and - what I like most - to have online shopping functionality for second-hand items. Not only does Beth have an impressive career, she's also mother to two little boys, so I wanted to ask her about the structures she's put in place and her mindset that allow her to be ambitious at work and be a mother, take care of herself as well. I'm always so interested to hear what's working for other women, other mothers and Beth gives us some really tangible insights that aren't just ‘I meditate for 20 minutes every day'. This episode is pretty personal and pretty sad. Let me give a warning now that I will be speaking about miscarriage and pregnancy loss, so if this is upsetting for you, you might want to give this episode a miss. We are really excited by today's guest, Georgie Stevenson. Despite a combined social media following of 400,000, she's not your average influencer. She left her law career behind to be an entrepreneur; writing an e-book, producing a podcast, and launching a natural supplements company. It's been exciting to watch Georgie pivot from a diet and fitness niche towards an intentional lifestyle. Coming up on today's show: how ditching diet culture stopped Georgie keeping herself small, honouring your season, and goal setting, visualising, and productivity. At Ecolust Podcast, we tell stories to empower your sustainable lifestyle. As Australian millennials, we want full lives and we like nice things. But we don't want to be part of the problem anymore. We want to live better - for the planet, for others, and for ourselves. We're making it easier for others to live sustainably, too. By sharing our stories of struggle and triumph, our lessons empower others. No eco-shame here. We release podcast episodes every Monday + show notes at www.ecolustlife.com/podcast Don't want to miss a thing? Obv. Join our fortnightly newsletter for recommendations, updates, and lols. Today's episode is an interview with Jerry Yudelson, Co-Founder of Earth Day, which you may have seen all over Instagram for its 50th anniversary on April 22 2020. And at face value it sounds like a straight-up chat about environmentalism but what's really interesting is that Jerry's latest book is about how he has combined meditation and mindfulness, two huge components of intentional living, with an environmentalist career, so we delve into that. I love what Jerry has to say about how the best political leaders in history are humanists, they tackle the world's issues with empathy and love. Coming up on today's show: The environmental impacts of Covid-19, the sustainability movement today compared with when Earth Day started 50 years ago, and how mindfulness and spirituality reconcile with environmentalism. Chris and I will often have probing conversations together where we interrogate each other on a topic, its relevance to our lives, and any reluctance to act.
