HAPPY NEW YEAR MY LOVEEE! In this episode I talk about my intentions I'm setting for this year but also this idea of HIGH INTENTION & LOW ATTACHMENT. And alsooo...thinking about this idea of who do I want to BECOME in pursuit of these intentions/goals/resolutions for this new year. Because YES, I do want you to set goals/intentions/resolutions for yourself...but I also want you to enjoy the PROCESS and enjoy who you are BECOMING in pursuit of your intentions
As we kick off 2026, we're exploring the power of setting intentions, and why they're essential for any transformative journey. By providing a focal point, a clear intention helps you sort through the noise to find the insights most relevant to your growth. It also serves as an emotional "home" to return to, ensuring that you're actively navigating your subconscious, and not just drifting.Key TakeawaysFocus on the "Why" over the "What": An intention isn't a rigid destination or a list of goals; it's the emotional fuel behind your journey. By honing in on your "why,” you create a sturdy foundation for challenging experiences.Practice Distillation for Clarity: Boil your intentions down to one or two core themes or a single word, making it easier to recall and use as a grounding tool during an altered state of consciousness.Bridge the Gap with Emotional Targets: True healing is felt in the body, not just in the mind. To ensure your intentions are actionable, identify your specific "emotional markers" of success so you can recognize when you're moving toward your purpose.-We're proud to partner with North Spore as a sponsor and an educational ally. ADHD, Creativity, and Building a Sustainable Life Host Introduction and Credentials In this solo episode, Mica McCook, food photographer and host of The Savory Shot, shares her personal journey with a late ADHD diagnosis. Based in Austin, Texas, Mica has built a successful creative career while navigating the unseen challenges of executive dysfunction, time blindness, and burnout. Her experience blends professional insight with lived truth, making this conversation both grounded and deeply human. Episode Overview This episode explores how ADHD shapes creative work, energy levels, and self perception. Mica opens up about years of blaming herself for burnout, missed deadlines, and mental exhaustion. Through learning about ADHD, she reframes those struggles as neurological rather than personal failures. Listeners hear honest stories about hyperfocus, task paralysis, decision fatigue, and distorted time awareness. The episode also offers practical tools that support neurodivergent brains, including external time cues, breaking tasks into smaller steps, and designing workflows that reduce overwhelm. At its core, this conversation is about releasing productivity shame and building systems that honor how your brain works. Call to Action Listen to this episode with openness and self honesty. Reflect on where your current systems create harm. Begin identifying supports that reduce mental load and protect creative energy. Closing Remarks This episode is a reminder that creativity thrives when it is supported with compassion. Your brain is not behind. Sustainable creativity begins when you stop forcing and start designing a life that works with you.
I love this exercise because it avoids the head trash that can result from the pass/fail nature of goal-setting. Don't get me wrong, there is a time and place for setting goals. But for me, setting three words is much more effective when defining a theme for an entire year.

New Year Of Intentions, Nertz to Resolutions. Why start the year lying? Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day. -Alice Morse Earle- Let's get anti-inflammatory! Drinking hot lemon water in the morning is a popular ritual that offers several practical health benefits, though it is often surrounded by some common myths. While it isn't a "miracle cure," it is an excellent way to kickstart your body's essential functions. Myth vs. Reality The Claim The Reality "It detoxes your body." Your liver and kidneys handle detoxing 24/7. Lemon water doesn't "flush" toxins, but its hydrating effect helps your kidneys filter waste more easily. "It melts fat/boosts metabolism." There is no evidence that lemon water directly burns fat. However, it can help with weight management by replacing high-calorie drinks or reducing hunger before a meal. "It alkalizes your blood." While lemon juice is alkalizing after metabolism, it cannot change the pH level of your blood (which is strictly regulated by your body). ADD The Anti-Inflammatory Duo: Turmeric & Black Pepper Turmeric is famous for curcumin, a compound with powerful anti-inflammatory effects. However, curcumin is notoriously difficult for the body to absorb on its own. The Science: Adding a pinch of black pepper contains piperine, which has been shown to increase curcumin absorption by up to 2,000%. Goal: Reducing joint pain and systemic inflammation. How to add: 1/4 tsp turmeric powder + a crack of fresh black pepper. 2. The Digestive Aid: Fresh Ginger Ginger contains gingerol, which has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It's particularly effective at soothing the digestive tract and reducing "gut inflammation." The Benefit: It stimulates digestive enzymes and can help reduce bloating or morning nausea. Goal: Improved gut health and reduced muscle soreness. Combining red-fleshed apples (such as the Redlove or Weirouge varieties) with celery in a juice creates a potent, anti-inflammatory beverage that is nutritionally superior to standard green apple and celery mixes. While regular apples have white flesh, red-fleshed apples are "bio-fortified" by nature, containing significantly higher levels of antioxidants throughout the entire fruit, not just the skin. People work hard to steal money. After a year of reflection, I'm back with a sound that feels like home. "Hold Me Close" is officially out—think cinematic soul meets raw, intimate storytelling. The wait is over. Let's dance.

She emphasizes the importance of setting goals for 2026, overcoming insecurities in fitness, and taking the first step towards personal growth. Jessie discusses the significance of building consistency and confidence, shrinking goals into manageable tasks, and the power of accountability in achieving success. Taking the first step is crucial for progress. Confidence comes from taking action, not perfection. Shrink your goals to make them manageable. Accountability partners can help you stay on track. In today's episode, Bob ‘n Joyce reflect on the start of a new year and the importance of pausing to renew and reset our intentions. Many of us begin January with resolutions to improve our health, habits, and overall well-being. Thoughtful organizations do the same—taking time to reflect on what's working, what's not, and what truly needs to change. In organizational development, this process is often called a reset. Bob ‘n Joyce explore one proven methodology—the Future Search Conference—that helps teams and organizations step back, make sense of their current reality, and align around a shared and preferred future. Why does a structured approach to an organizational reset matter? Because good intentions alone rarely lead to lasting change. Most personal New Year's resolutions fade by Valentine's Day, and organizational change efforts face the same risk—many stall, lose momentum, or fall short of their goals. Whether you're setting personal intentions for 2026 or leading a team that needs a thoughtful reset, this episode offers practical insights to help turn reflection into meaningful action. Come on in. Grab a healthy snack. You're welcome here.

In this solo episode, I open up about one of the most challenging seasons of my life. Over the past year, I've experienced the loss of two close friends and watched others battle serious illness. These moments shook me in ways I didn't expect, and they forced me to confront what gratitude really means when life doesn't go according to plan. This conversation is not about toxic positivity or pretending everything is fine. It's about understanding gratitude as a deep, intentional practice that often comes after disruption, grief, and pain. When loss enters our lives, it strips away the noise and reminds us what actually matters. Time becomes more valuable. Relationships feel more fragile and more sacred. The present moment stops being something we rush through and starts becoming something we protect. I share how these experiences reshaped my perspective on success, ambition, and what it means to truly live. As we look ahead to 2026, I talk about why it's no longer enough to chase goals at the expense of our health, our relationships, or our peace. Instead, I believe we're being invited to align our ambitions with our wellbeing, to set better boundaries, and to live with clarity and intention every single day. This episode is a reminder that gratitude isn't a buzzword or a social media caption. It's a decision we make daily. A decision to be present. A decision to love harder. A decision to stop postponing our lives for some imaginary future moment. If you've experienced loss, transition, or a wake-up call recently, this episode is for you. My hope is that it encourages you to pause, reflect, and start living more fully right now. Episode Breakdown 00:00 Reflecting on Loss and Gratitude 00:54 How Loss Changes Our Perspective on Life 01:33 Finding Gratitude in the Midst of Grief 03:12 Gratitude as a Conscious Daily Choice 04:48 Setting Intentions and Boundaries for the Future 05:33 Living with Presence, Purpose, and Clarity 06:06 Final Thoughts and Invitation to Reflect
If you've ever felt overwhelmed by New Year's resolutions—or abandoned them by February—this episode is for you. As a busy Christian working mom, the pressure to “do it all” can be exhausting, and resolutions often leave us feeling like we've failed before the year even begins. In today's episode, we explore a different approach: setting intentions instead of resolutions. Intentions focus on purpose, not perfection, and help you align your daily life with God's guidance, your family priorities, and your personal growth. You'll learn: The difference between resolutions and intentions, and why intentions are more sustainable. How to set faith-centered intentions that guide your year without guilt or pressure. Practical steps to create your own intentions that fit your family, work, and spiritual life. How to maintain your intentions even when life gets messy—without feeling like you've failed. By the end, you'll feel empowered to step into this year with clarity, peace, and confidence, letting God's guidance shape your growth rather than societal expectations.

New Year's Resolutions or Intentions for the New Year...Peace will rule, get into it! End of year roundup, reflecting on next chapter of my life, I am hopeful that my ordered steps will help someone else. Truth comes in many forms. What has been draining your spirit? 5 types of people to avoid to navigate the next chapter in life in peace and freedom, and not chaos. An elderly woman once told a sister, "I love her, but I cannot breathe when she leaves. It is as though she blows out the candles in my house." The sister answered her with gentle truth, "Love her from a distance, for God did not ask you to sacrifice your peace to satisfy another's unrest." If someone's constant complaining suffocates the joy, God is trying to nourish in you, then you must protect your inner sanctuary. The second type, the manipulator. This is the most subtle and often the most painful. Manipulation does not come with shouting. It comes wrapped in words that sound like care, like duty, like obligation. Manipulators use guilt to control. They speak of love but demand submission. God NEVER weaponizes guilt. Therefore, every person who steals your freedom is damaging the gift God placed in you. 3rd type They remind you of old mistakes, not to heal you, but to diminish you. They keep you fixed in an outdated portrait of who you once were, refusing to see the grace God has formed in you. Your past is not a weapon for others to wield. 4th Darkness Bearers one who carries darkness. Not always in obvious ways, not always with dramatic sins, but with a presence that pulls the soul away from the light. These are the people who normalize what leads you away from God, who diminish the seriousness of sin, who feed resentment, who speak lightly of what wounds the conscience, who invite you into anger, division, or habits that cloud the clarity of prayer. A neighbor arrives not with warmth but with gossip that stains the mind. A relative comes not with compassion but with burdensome anger that pulls the spirit into old conflicts. 5th Silent but just as deadly This cold silence is not the silence of contemplation. It is the silence of indifference. It is the silence that neither builds nor comforts. A relative who shows no interest in your well-being. A friend who never asks how your heart is. A companion who takes but never gives. Your soul is too close to eternity to be entangled in the shadows of others. Rise above the storms of others. You will live the later years as God intended, not in confusion, but in clarity, not in exhaustion, but in grace. Pope Leo is still kicking the knowledge. Navigate to Pope Leo Speaks on 5 Types of People to Avoid that are Peace Wreckers to view the video in its entirety. No, I am not Catholic. But, this Pope Leo XIV is literally a "cousin". And has emphatically stated he is not MAGA. As the first American-born pope, has said that his nationality means that people cannot say he "doesn't understand the United States," as they did with Pope Francis. This statement indicates that he feels his perspective is uniquely informed and that he will be more effective in his engagement with the US government. He has expressed support for US bishops who took a stance against the Trump administration's deportation policies. By doing so, he is indirectly criticizing the administration while also encouraging other bishops to follow suit. While Pope Leo XIV has stated that he wants to avoid "partisan politics," he has also said that he is not afraid to "raise issues" that are related to the Gospel. This creates a fine line that he seems willing to cross, and his comments on human dignity, immigration, and wealth inequality can be interpreted as a moral and religious critique of the administration's policies. I am not a Communist nor a sympathizer of the autocratic regime in power in China. But, I admire the shade. Leaving this felon administration on hold listening to #Obama speeches is classic!! Even Sun Tzu could have anticipate the level of shade of the new age Chinese nor 50 cent for that matter. #pettylujah Seasonal Affective Disorder Is Treatable and all of us should be about fixing our mental health always.... In this solo episode of The Scratch Golfer's Mindset Podcast, I'm sharing a raw, honest reflection on my 2025 golf season—what improved, what I avoided, where fear quietly ran the show, and why the theme of 2026 is simple: do the work. I walk you through the exact 15 reflection questions I challenged my newsletter readers to answer—and I read my own straight-from-the-journal responses. Then I close by defining the identity I'm stepping into in 2026: committed, intentional, and fearless—with a clear focus on becoming a longer hitter, sharper from 125 and in, and mentally tougher when things get uncomfortable. If you've been stuck in inconsistency, rushing your routine, or playing not to mess up, this episode will give you a mirror—and a reset. In this episode, you'll learn: The 15 reflection questions I use to audit a season and upgrade my golf identity Why false urgency destroys routines, decision-making, and scoring How fear shows up as "smart golf" (laying back, avoiding driver) and silently caps your potential The difference between practicing and practicing with intentionality How I'm building more presence and focus using a 3-hole check-in reset What I'm no longer willing to tolerate in my game—and why that line matters The identity shift I'm making in 2026: committed, intentional, fearless—and what that looks like in action Get your pencils ready and start listening. Instagram: @thegolfhypnotherapist 15 Reflection Questions: What do I want in 2026? What do I want more of? What do I want less of? What am I no longer willing to tolerate in my golf game? What patterns kept repeating for me this year—and why? Where did I abandon my standards when things got uncomfortable? What did I pretend "didn't matter," even though it clearly did? What am I still blaming on my swing that's actually mental or emotional? Where did fear quietly make my decisions for me this year? What did I avoid working on because it exposed my real edge? When did I play not to mess up instead of playing to perform? What part of my game actually improved—and why did it improve? What drained my energy on the course more than it should have? What would change if I trusted myself one level more? If nothing changes in 2026, what will that cost me—emotionally and competitively? Key Takeaways: You don't need more knowledge to reach scratch—you need consistent, intentional work. False urgency destroys routines, decision-making, and scoring faster than any swing flaw. Fear often disguises itself as "smart golf" and quietly caps your potential. Your routine matters most right after great holes and bad holes, not when things feel easy. Intentional practice creates predictable performance; random reps create random results. Emotional toughness is built by sitting in discomfort instead of numbing or avoiding it. Identity is the real upgrade, and in 2026 that identity is committed, intentional, and fearless. Key Quotes: "The theme of 2026 is do the work—not the easy stuff, not the surface-level stuff, the real work." "I already have the talent and capability to be a scratch golfer; inconsistency was the real issue." "I'm no longer willing to tolerate playing hurried golf with a false sense of urgency." "Fear made decisions everywhere this year, especially when I convinced myself I was being strategic." "Avoiding driver and playing not to mess up kept me playing par fours like par fives." "Vulnerability, ownership, and accountability aren't weaknesses—they're performance accelerators." "If nothing changes in 2026, it will cost me everything." Dreaming, setting intentions, and keeping yourself accountable are not easy in the world we currently live in. Our society has built systems that erode the individual and collective spaces that hold these generative processes. This is a powerful time of year to begin to reclaim the space of pausing in the darkness to be with yourself, dream new possibilities, and lay the foundation for what you want to create in the world. In this episode of Mindset Unlimited, I share insights and tips on the power of dreaming, setting intentions, and keeping yourself accountable as we head into a new year. In today's episode, we're talking with Kayleigh Johnson, mama to 14-month-old Amelia and wife to DJ. Kayleigh and her family live in Massachusetts, where they are planning for the birth of baby number two. Amelia was born in a hospital with an epidural and pitocin experience. To Kayleigh, the pitocin contractions felt very unnatural. They way she puts it, “it felt like it was happening to me.” So after some soul searching, they decided on a home birth for this pregnancy. A big influence? Podcasts and social media! Kayleigh got to see and connect with real people, real stories that seemed attainable and allowed her to see the experience for herself. Kayleigh's faith is integral in her life, and so it's been a part of her birth planning as well. She was able to find a Christian midwife who aligned with her belief system (she even found her midwife on social media! Thank you, technology!). This synergy has been important for the connection she's seeking with her birth team. Kayleigh also has visions she is praying for in her birth. She's believing for a pain-free, no tear, en caul birth. We're happy and honored to hold that intention for her. And we're very excited to share her story with you!
