Hello there fellow funeral service (and future) professionals, and friends! This is a recorded audio study guide for both the NBE Arts and Science sections for Funeral Service. It may also prove to be a useful study tool for those currently enrolled in a mortuary science program/school once you’ve gotten to the classes I cover in my episodes!  I have devoted myself to creating a thorough audio study guide so that my fellow future NBE test takers can finally have a study tool that is not only easily accessible, but is also highly educational and comprehensive. This Podcast will be divided up into Arts and Sciences sections, with segments under each including more in-depth notes and study guides that I have put together either on my own or from submissions from other classmates/professionals. If you would like to add your own contribution or have any suggestions, please email me at laulux@gmail.com or message me on Facebook under Meghan Opocensky. I am ALWAYS extremely appreciative of any additional content I can get to add!  Thank you so much for choosing to join me for my study sessions and I hope that together we can get you through this and pass with flying colors! Just remember, there is no true way to be completely prepared for these exams asides from truly knowing the content. You will not be able to pass with just a quick rehashing of the provided and recommended information, so PLEASE do not rely on studying for these exams last minute/winging it. I want to see you succeed! I always tell people to read their textbooks as the exams are pulled almost word-for-word from them, I highly recommend reading the 21st Century Funeral Directing & Funeral Service Management, Grief Counseling/Psychology, Sociology for Funeral Service textbook and Types of Funeral Services & Ceremonies 2nd Edition for Arts, Embalming: History, Theory, & Practice, Restorative Arts and Science, Chemistry, Pathology and Anatomy textbooks for Science. If you read these during your time in Mortuary school-I encourage you to still read them again. ESPECIALLY your 21st Century one!  I will provide a good amount of notes pulled directly from these textbooks, but you’ll still want to read them beforehand so you can have a solid understanding of these topics beforehand. ✨Also, KNOW YOUR DEFINITIONS!✨Feel free to message me anytime for anything. Good luck, remember to breathe, I’m here for you and you’re not alone in this endeavor. It’s OKAY if you don’t pass it the first, second, or even your third time. You’ll get it! Use each try as a learning experience to better prepare yourself for the next try. You got this, and with my help I truly believe you’ll get there!✨Please consider joining the Facebook group I help moderate if you haven’t done so already: NBE Prep Funeral Arts & Science - National Board Exam as it constantly provides recommendations, resources, advice, support and overall it’s just an all around wonderful place to meet others in your same situation.✨

This section of RA is absolutely VITAL to passing your Science section of the NBE, as they have MANY various questions that are obscurely centered around (and many direct ones, too) your understanding of Color Theory. I will be looking for more Quizlets that cover this for y'all, as this is extremely important for you to know and understand. Send us a Text Message.Hello there, my good friends and  fellow future funeral professionals!First off, I would like to formally introduce you to my very first co-host on this show, my very good friend Susan Richman, a practicing member of Judaism! She joyfully agreed joined me to help me not only with proper pronunciation, but also ended up adding some really interesting extra facts, too! She, just like myself, want YOU to succeed and know your stuff- and in the case of Judaism and Islam, I feel it is SO unbelievably important!I fully believe you will enjoy this episode. It was a nice little change from my usual lecture, I hope! I had so much fun having Ms. Susan join me on for this episode, and I really, truly, hope y'all do as well! I learned a few new things from her which is always fantastic- just remember, when you're preparing yourself for your NBE exams, both the Arts ad the Sciences, GO ONLY BY HOW THE BOOKS SAY IT. Ignore what YOU know, or what YOUR experiences are. We just enjoyed discussing things, as I usually do. But please remember the NBE is a test of your ability to regurgitate oodles of information, not practicality or what you would actually do in certain situations, you know?Secondly, here are the links to the three Quizlets that I have used to put this episode together for y'all: (I couldn't find just one that really, truly, covered everything you NEED to know for what could get thrown at you during your NBE)THESE ARE NOT IN ORDER, I COMBINED ALL OF THESE DUE TO REPEAT IMFO:1: https://quizlet.com/45242337/jewish-funeral-rites-flash-cards/     Creator: EWhite01222: https://quizlet.com/15706190/jewish-funeral-rites-flash-cards/     Creator: jessica_g_lawrence3: https://quizlet.com/99630833/funeral-directing-jewish-and-islamic-funeral-rite-exam-iv-flash-cards/     Creator: SamanthaHHernandezThis episode will cover A LOT of really important information to help you prepare for your exam! Also: as I always say: GO REREAD YOUR DARN TEXTBOOKS!
