Podcasts about comission

In a shocking case of potential corruption, a Douglas County commissioner's questionable actions have raised eyebrows and sparked questions about the county's governance. This episode delves into the details of a contract between Douglas County and the Douglas County Economic Development Corporation, where a commissioner's wife notarized a contract worth nearly a million dollars, and the commissioner himself may have benefited from the deal. The speaker discusses a contract between Douglas County and the Douglas County Economic Development Corporation, highlighting some unusual aspects of the agreement. The contract, worth $937,500, was notarized by Kaylan Buckingfield, an executive assistant at the Economic Development Corporation, who just so happens to be married to a county commissioner. The speaker raises questions about the potential conflict of interest and the county's governance practices. The episode explores the contract's terms, including a clause that prohibits county officials from having a personal interest in the services or property described in the contract. However, the same county commissioners who signed the contract are also directors of the Economic Development Corporation, which seems to contradict the clause. The speaker also discusses the county's reimbursement loop, where taxpayer dollars flow to the county, then to the corporation, and back to the county to pay for commissioner travel. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in government accountability and transparency. The speaker raises important questions about the county's governance practices and the potential for corruption. Tune in to hear the full discussion and decide for yourself whether the county's actions are a case of sloppy governance or something more sinister.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Easter can feel like a finish line, but the resurrection is a beginning. We slow down and follow what Jesus does after he walks out of the grave - the quiet, personal moment with Mary Magdalene, the honest doubts of the disciples, and the surprising walk to Emmaus where opened Scripture turns crushed hopes into burning hearts. If you've ever wondered why faith can feel hard even when the story is true, these scenes from scripture put words to it and point to a better way forward. We also zoom out to Acts 1, where Jesus spends forty days giving clear proof of the resurrection and speaking about the kingdom of God. The disciples want a timetable, but Jesus points them to power and purpose through the Holy Spirit. The ascension is not Jesus stepping away from the world, it is Jesus sending his people into it as witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Then we land on Matthew 28 and the Great Commission.  All power is given unto Jesus in heaven and in earth; therefore we go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:, with the promise that Jesus is with us always. We talk about what that looks like in normal life through prayer, spiritual gifts, daily character, and love shown through actionIf you want practical Christian encouragement rooted in Scripture, press play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review so more listeners can find the Christ Quarter.===Acts 1:1 - 11Luke 24:11 - 29Matthew 28:18 - 2018 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Because our special guest this week is from a sensitive country, she will remain unnamed for our online audience. Thank you for supporting our global partners in the great CO-MISSION.

Last week we had a conversation about paper roads, or as the Outdoor Access Commission prefers to call them, "unformed legal roads" and goodness me did we get a lot of feedback from you. Many of you asked about the Queen's Chain and so we're thrilled to have the Comission's field adviser Dot Dalziell back with us to tell us more about that topic.

Hosts David and Kyle are back for the next chapter of the Deathly Hallows! The crew discusses the gang's plan to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic. What worked? What didn't work? Let's just say this plan left a lot to be desired.

“Why am I here?” There is a distinct difference between the questions, “Why am I here?” and “What do you want to be when you grow up?” “Why am I here?” is directed at purpose.“What do you want to be when you grow up?” is directed at bent and arena.Culture says purpose is personal live for yourself. Jesus said your purpose is my purpose, live for me. Your Real Purpose is a Co-mission.Webster's “a” definition for commission is: a formal written warrant granting the power to perform various acts or duties. Matthew 28:18-20 (AMP) 18 Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”Mark 16:15-16 (NIV) 15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 3 Facts About the Co-missionThe co-mission is God given not self-generated. The co-mission is God-powered not self-powered. “and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”” Acts 1:8 (AMP) 8 But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”3 Facts About the Co-missionThe co-mission is God given not self-generated. The co-mission is God-powered not self-powered. The co-mission is specific and active not arbitrary and passive.Making disciples and proclaiming the Gospel are specific and active purposes. Each require movement; Go! Preach! Objective of a Co-Mission: Make another disciple. Preach the Gospel. Disciple making is a personal spiritual investment in the shaping of another person's life.Romans 10:14-15 (AMP) 14 But how will people call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher (messenger)? 15 And how will they preach unless they are commissioned and sent [for that purpose]? Just as it is written and forever remains written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”3 Objections to Co-mission.I am too new in my faith to disciple anyone. If you are walking someone can follow. I am too afraid to speak up. You overcome the fear of inexperience through experience.I don't know where to start. We are seed sowers not soul winners.3 Things You Have that God Uses Your storyYour personalityYour ArenaMatthew 9:35-38 (Living Version) 35-38 Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. “What a huge harvest!” he said to his disciples. “How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!”Our co-mission doesn't come with geographic boundaries, it comes with geographic targets.Jerusalem (immediate surroundings)Judea (broader community)Samaria (even our enemies)the outer parts of the earth (all people globally). Our Real Purpose is A Co-Mission. A co-mission requires a yes.A co-mission results in a life more and better than you have ever dreamed.

Pastor Andy In a world that feels divided and heavy, how do we keep moving forward in faith? This week's At the Movies message is a prequel to mission: the Co-Mission. We look at Matthew 28, where Jesus gathers His disciples—worshippers and doubters alike—and sends them on the greatest mission ever given. The good news? Doubt doesn't disqualify us. Jesus still calls and commissions us. Just like Moses wrestled with fear in Exodus 4, we too can feel unqualified, uncertain, and tempted to step back. But Jesus' words are clear: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go…” Supporting Scriptures: Matthew 28:16–20; 1 Corinthians 10:13 — God Key Themes & Takeaways: BIG IDEA -We think doubt disqualifies us, but Jesus sends doubters. All authority belongs to Him, He is always with us, and He will teach us what to say. Doubt doesn't disqualify you—Jesus sends you anyway. Three promises to carry: All authority belongs to Him. He is always with me. He will teach me what to say. Evangelism isn't about pity, guilt, or obligation—it's about genuine love and invitation. The prayer that reframes it: “God, give us eyes to see people the way You do.” Stay Connected: Give: https://theecho.churchcenter.com/giving Online Service: Sundays 9 AM (YouTube & Facebook Live) Connect: https://theecho.churchcenter.com/people/forms/113001 Instagram: @wearetheechochurch #EchoChurch #MadeToGarden #ChristianSermon #FaithGrowth #BibleTeaching
