After a prolonged and unexpected absence, Mike and Adam return to fill you in on what's been going on during the 2020 pandemic and quarantine. This surprise (and spontaneous) conversation covers what movies and shows have come out recently, and what's worth checking out while we're all stuck at home.
On today’s show Mike and Adam talk about possibly reading a book! (:30) They preview some noteworthy TV Shows coming in Summer 2019 (9:48). They count down their favorite 90's Action movies in this week's Top 3 (32:42). And they round things out with some streaming recommendations (51:28).
Mike and Adam discuss Avengers: Endgame, with a non-spoiler segment at the beginning (1:30), and a spoiler breakdown towards the end (40:15). They count down their Top 3 MCU movies (19:22). As always, they have StreamTime picks of the week (34:16). And they wrap things up with thoughts on the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, “The Bells” (52:35 ).
This week on Gates of Thrones, Adam and James talk about episodes 4 and 5 of the final season of Game of Thrones, titled "The Last of the Starks" and "The Bells" respectively (let's be honest, mostly they'll talk about "The Bells"). They'll discuss their takeaways from these episodes, and what they they think it all means for the last episode.
This week on Gates of Thrones, James and Adam will be talking about the third episode of Season 8 of Game of Thrones, “The Long Night.” They’ll discuss their Top 3 battle scenes from the show’s run, and make some guesses about what happens next on the show. #Cleganebowl.
Mike and Adam discuss the announcement of Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney+ (:39), which contains new series and projects in the Star Wars (3:03) and Marvel (8:23) franchises, as well as re-boots from popular (nostalgic) movies from years gone by (such as Father of the Bride, Three Men and a Baby, The Sandlot, The Mighty Ducks), and much much more (16:40). Mike saw Shazam! (31:44) They reveal their favorite Pixar movies in the Weekly Top 3 (37:52). And the guys round out the episode with some streaming recommendations (51:47).
Adam and James dive into Episode 2 of Games of Thrones’ final season, the aptly titled, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.” They offer their Top 3 Characters Most Likely to Die in the battle to come, and in “What’s Next?” they wonder what happens after the Battle of Winterfell…if there even is an afterwards…
The guys react to the new Star Wars Teaser Trailer (:28), reveal their Top 3 TV Dramas of all time (9:41), and discuss the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere (35:28). They also play a game of GoT Trivia (41:21), and provide their StreamTime Picks for the week (46:25).
Adam and James discuss their reactions/freakouts from Episode 1 of the 8th and final season of Game of Thrones, “Winterfell.” They go through their Top 3 “Wow!” moments from the episode, and speculate on what’s next to come for our favorite characters in Episode 2 and beyond.
In Episode 13, Adam and Mike travel to a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, where they discuss the first two episodes of the new Jordan Peele-hosted Twilight Zone. In the Weekly Top 3 they reveal their top TV “Blindspots” (popular/critically successful shows they are embarrassed they haven’t seen yet). Mike apparently had some impressionable scary movie moments from when he was a child, which is maybe why he doesn’t like horror movies today…and Adam is apparently freaked out by twins and never really knew it…Also, make sure to stay tuned for a special announcement (*cough* Game of Thrones *cough*)! In Watching Now, Mike saw a movie that’s not worth mentioning, but they talk about it anyway. They round out the show with StreamTime recommendations.

In Watching Now, Adam finally finished watching Making a Murderer Part 2, while Mike remains completely clueless of the entire Steven Avery Saga. StreamTime Picks include a hidden (but dark) gem on Amazon starring Jaoquin Phoenix, and a not-so-under-the-radar-but-really-awesome Amy Adams movie.
