On this episode, Nikki and Priscilla discuss taking back your power and the ways it enriches your life. They explain how in order to take back your power, you first need to know what your core beliefs are so you know what you stand for. Once you know what you stand for, you’re able to discern what actually matters to you from what matters to the herd consciousness. They dive into the many ways herd consciousness can dictate what we think we want, whether it’s a social media advertisement making us feel we should look a certain way or a doctor telling us we should approach our health the same way as everybody else. Nikki shares her experience with her doctor wanting to put her on a standard of care protocol, and how by standing firm in her belief that it was not the correct course for her, her doctor was able to admit she didn’t think the standard of care worked for everyone either. They discuss how it is important to allow everyone to have their own beliefs, even if someone is following the herd consciousness, because in return you are allowed to have your own beliefs as well.

On this episode, Nikki talks to cancer survivor and author of Life-Saving Gratitude: How Gratitude Helped Me Beat Stage IV Cancer, Bunny Terry. Bunny had searing pain in her side one day and went to the doctor to find out she had a 5cm tumor in her colon and a tumor almost the same size on her liver which had progressed to Stage IV cancer. Her doctor told her he could write a letter that could help her cash out her life insurance benefits, and he could seal it so she didn't have to read her prognosis. She and her daughter opened the envelope and saw the prognosis of 12 months to live. She told her daughter they weren't sending out that letter to anyone, because it was not going to be true and that mindset set her on a path towards beating cancer. Bunny shares how she started a practice of writing down things she was grateful for in the moment that she was grateful, and how rewiring her neuropathways for gratitude made her a survivor who beat her prognosis. On this episode, Nikki and Priscilla discuss what it means to be empowered. They talk about how sometimes the word can have a negative connotation for women, and that it is interpreted as being aggressive, abrasive or bossy, but that it really is a sense of peace and contentment with your life because you are living in line with your own truth. They explain how sometimes we think of empowerment as being busy and taking care of everything perfectly, but it really comes from doing what we feel is right for ourselves in each moment. Ultimately, they define empowerment as the ability to listen to yourself and act on your own intuition.
What does it mean to be accountable in every area of your life, and how does it affect your health and success? On this episode, Nikki and Priscilla discuss what personal accountability is and how implementing it can change so many areas of your life. They talk first about how difficult accountability can be, because it can feel like being told we were wrong, and we always want to feel like we are doing the right thing. They dive into how it can be an intimidating process because it can feel like you will lose parts of or all of your identity if you make major changes to how you approach things. They discuss how in the realm of therapy, some people are overwhelmed by the idea of confronting the uncomfortable parts of their lives and convince themselves that it is more comfortable to lug their baggage around with them. They talk about how much people fear change, but that the only way to peace is by taking accountability for your own thoughts, feelings and actions.
In this episode, Nikki discusses how important mindset is in the pursuit of anything. She shares stories from multiple people in her life that have made her believe mindset is the key. She talks about her sister's battle with lupus, which led to her needing a heart and kidney transplant in her early 30s, and how doctors told her the average heart transplant patient only lives a few years after it. Her sister was determined to enjoy more of her life though and lived for 26 and a half years after the transplant, because of her positive mindset. Nikki also shares how she taught her kids her affirmation "my body is healthy and strong" and when her kids would get the stomach flu at school, they would be over it in 12 hours while other kids were out of school for two or three days. Similarly, Nikki tells the story of how Joe Dispenza fought against all odds to walk again after getting hit by a truck going 55 miles per hour, and how he credits a lot of his success to removing negative people from his life who said he wouldn't be able to do it. With many other stories, Nikki explains how health starts in your mind, and the more positive thoughts you feed to your mind, the more you don't have to be a victim of the world around you, instead, you can be whatever you want.
On this episode, Nikki talks to her mom, 83 year old Christine Zogorean who is a two time gold medal powerlifter, and her coach, 78 year old Patraic Currey who is a 9 Time World Champion Powerlifter and Christine’s powerlifting coach. Christine shares how just a few years ago, she was suffering from spinal stenosis and could barely walk from her car to the grocery store, and after not having any success treating it with any medication, she went to see a physical therapist who ended up helping her restore strength to her body while ridding it of pain. Once she was able to move again, she started going to the gym and found a personal trainer who helped her build up her strength and then she decided she wanted to try out powerlifting. When she asked around for a coach, Patraic’s name was mentioned and she started working with him, eventually getting two gold medals in powerlifting and setting records herself. Christine and Patraic discuss the mindset and mentality it takes to keep lifting heavier, and how important it is to not assume your age can keep you from doing anything, especially if you have a competitive spirit. They talk about how movement is medicine, and to not be intimidated by someone else being able to do something you can’t, but to be inspired instead. For more information on Patraic, check out his gym. He coaches both young and mature athletes - No Excuses Gym 305-979-2441 https://www.facebook.com/Captain-Curreys-No-Excuses-Gym-180075078687772

She explains the power of the words we use when we are thinking about ourselves, and how being our own worst critic can take such a toll on our all around health. She shares how using affirmations helps her stay in a healthy and happy state of mind, even on days when she is struggling to stay positive. If you want to use her affirmations as your own, you can copy them here: My body is healthy and strong and I love my healthy body. My immune system is healthy and strong and it is always healing and protecting my body completely with love. I love and appreciate my immune system. Miracles happen every day and I go within to dissolve the patterns that have created any disease in my body and I now accept my divine healing in Jesus’ name. I lovingly forgive and release everything negative, hurtful or aggravating in my past and current life. I choose to fill my world with joy. I completely love, accept and forgive myself. I am happy, healthy, whole and healed in Jesus’ name. Many wonderful things are going to happen today. All is well in my life and body.

When the antidepressant didn't work, he began to wonder if her medications were the problem. He managed to get her off all of her medications and she felt wildly better, and Dr. Lara realized he wanted to start helping his patients heal themselves without medications when possible. With her mother not wanting to be a burden, Priscilla expended extra energy trying to hide from her how taxing the situation actually was. In this episode, Nikki and Priscilla discuss the power of your mindset and how what you ruminate on in your mind expands into your life. Priscilla talks about how learning to do her best helped her lean out of perfectionism, because she realized she just had to do the best she could do in the moment. Nikki shares how she considers herself a recovering perfectionist, and how she has learned the distinction between being THE best and doing YOUR best. They also explain how doing something because you want to do it and not for a reward is an indicator of doing your best.
On this episode, Nikki and Priscilla discuss the third of the four agreements: don't make assumptions. They talk about how this third agreement goes hand in hand with the second agreement to not take things personally, because we make assumptions about what someone does or says when we assume we know why they are doing it. They explain how making assumptions comes from our judgmental nature, and how it is important to always stay curious instead.
In this episode, Nikki and Priscilla talk about one of the four agreements: don't take anything personally. They discuss the truth that everyone in every moment is dealing with all kinds of things that are dictating their mood, and that it is almost selfish to assume that the way someone engages with you is all about you. They talk about how taking things personally can cause problems in relationships that weren't necessarily there, and can make you make up problems based on personalizing someone's mood.
In this episode, Nikki and Priscilla begin discussing The Four Agreements, starting with the first one: Use impeccable words. They talk about the incredible importance of the words we use about ourselves and others, and how the wrong words are like poison.
