Two grown-ass women just trying to figure out their lives with boxed wine to help!
Margaret Copeland and Martha Ochoa
The WINE am I like this?! podcast is a refreshing and enjoyable show that explores life and love through the candid storytelling of its hosts. The chemistry between the two hosts is excellent, creating a dynamic and engaging listening experience that keeps you hooked from start to finish. With their willingness to be vulnerable and share personal stories, they provide relatable experiences that resonate with listeners on a deep level. It's exciting to see where these podcasters will go on their life journey, as they continue to deliver content that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
One of the best aspects of The WINE am I like this?! podcast is the hosts' ability to create a genuine connection with their audience. Their stories about life and love are relatable and heartfelt, making you feel like you're having a conversation with close friends. They don't shy away from being vulnerable, which adds an element of authenticity that many listeners appreciate. In addition, their chemistry with each other is evident in every episode, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the show. Their banter and interactions make it feel like you're part of the conversation too.
Another great aspect of this podcast is its humor and entertainment value. The hosts have a knack for telling funny personal stories that leave you laughing out loud. Their ability to find humor in everyday situations is impressive, and they deliver their stories with great comedic timing. This makes each episode highly entertaining from beginning to end, ensuring that you'll always have a good time while listening.
On the downside, one potential drawback of The WINE am I like this?! podcast is its focus on personal stories. While these stories are certainly entertaining and relatable, some listeners may prefer more variety in terms of topics discussed. It would be great to see the hosts explore different themes or invite guests onto the show to diversify the content even further. However, this is merely a suggestion for improvement rather than a significant fault.
In conclusion, The WINE am I like this?! podcast is a must-listen for anyone who enjoys honest and entertaining storytelling about life and love. The hosts' willingness to be vulnerable and share funny personal stories creates a genuine connection with the audience, making it feel like you're part of their journey. Whether you're looking for a laugh or some relatable experiences, this podcast delivers it all.
On todays episode we are a sad to say it will be our last for now. This podcast has served as therapy for the both of us and we have both grown so much within this space. We have learned so much about each other and have become best friends in this process. There may be a time when we revisit the podcast and start it up again, but for now we say goodbye and we hope you had as much fun listening to us as we did while creating this gem. We love you guys! In today's episode, we're talking about ghosting, not with dating, but within friendships. We tap about how it can hurt when you make plans with a friend, and then when the day comes, the person ignores you. It makes us feel unpopular or unliked in our own lives. We would like to be in a place where we can confront the person and tell them, “Hey, you hurt my feelings when you ignored me all day when we were supposed to hang out.” But of course, that's hard! We love when friends talk time to cancel. That is a valid reason to bail on plans. Both of us have our faults as well. Martha overpromises and over schedules, and Margaret double books. These are things we are actively working on within ourselves. On todays episode we unfortunately had to record separately. Martha has a bad cold. We believe it's due to her pretending to be 21 again and not 31. Too much travel and drinking. She has decided to do a total reset starting Monday and we love that. This week is short and sweet while we talk about our fundates and our general well being. Martha talks about her friends bachelorette party she attended and how she changed someone's life by becoming a drunken psychic once again. Which we love. Margaret talks about how she is finally finding happiness at home and how much piece that is bringing her. She had a meeting with a very intuitive friend who told her she was simply glowing! Which we also love. Let us know if you have any episode suggestions for us by emailing us at wineamilikeythis@gmail.com or you can dm us @wineamilikethis on instagram. On todays episode we're continuing our discussion on abortion. This week we talk more about the state side of abortion and what different states are doing. There are currently only six states that have zero laws on abortion. Far more less than we thought. We found out that the heart beat bill was introduced all the way back in 2013! The bill however did not pass thanks to Roe V. Wade. Texas and Oklahoma currently have the most strict abortion laws with strictly no abortions after 6 weeks. There are way too many states in our opinions with laws already in place stating that if Roe gets overturned, abortion will become completely illegal. We learned many terrible things researching this topic and we also talk about how insane it is that people are also getting arrested and losing their licenses and fined for helping people who need abortions. Let's all remember that overturning Roe v. Wade will not stop abortions it'll only stop safe abortions. Also the government does not care about you or your babies. Please get out and vote! On todays episode we're talking the most recent terrible things that are going on in this country with abortion. We begin by giving a brief description of Roe Wade and Planned Parenthood V Casey. If you don't know there has been a recent leak in the Supreme Court where they may overturn Roe v wade. This is a very scary slippery slope for human rights in America. We've seen time and time again around the world where abortion was banned and it doesn't work. Abortions will happen whether they are legal or not. If they are illegal they will become extremely unsafe. It's not about the unborn child, it's about controlling women. You cannot be pro life without thinking of the life of the mother that could die from having her child. You cannot be pro life without caring about the rape victim. You cannot be pro life without caring about both lives. If you do not have a uterus you have no right to make these decisions. Someone else's body is not your business. This episode will be a two parter because we have so much more to say on this topic. On todays episode we're talking about airport etiquette! We recently were trapped in the Austin airport for 6 hours due to bad weather, so we thought why not talk about all of our bad airport experiences. Martha has been trapped in the airport multiple times for hours while Margaret has had better luck. Maybe Martha has bad plane energy? We also talk about treating the airport staff with respect. Remember, they have zero control over plane cancellations and flight delays and they're only doing the best they can. If you treat them with kindness you often end up getting more anyways. Be kind to your flight attendants and customer service agents when you fly! We're talking about Oregon summer in today's episode because we cannot wait! Oregon summer is the best! We're excited about camping, hiking, road trips, and going to the nude beach! We also love to invest in paddleboards to explore the Oregon rivers and lakes better also! Something else we both want to strive for is doing more solo things. Martha has a couple of months off this summer finally. So she will be forced to do solo activities. With Margaret living by the mountain, she plans on spending some mornings with her paddleboard at any of the lakes the mountain has to offer. We've had an extremely long winter considering we just had SPRING snow! So we are ready and here for Oregon summer! On todays episode We're talking about the 75 soft challenge vs. the 75 hard challenge. The soft challenge consists of eating well, working out 6 days with 1 active rest day whatever that looks like for you, drinking 3 liters of water, reading or journaling everyday, only drinking on social occasions. Martha has already started the challenge and Margaret plans on beginning Monday. We both are taking a hard much needed break from alcohol. With taking the soft challenge it allows you to change gradually where as with the hard challenge you're doing a lot of restricting making it much harder to continue with the lifestyle change after the challenge. We're hoping this challenge will make some big changes in our lives towards our happiness and we urge you to join us! We also mention a supplement Margaret is going to start taking called feel free. The creator used it to get off alcohol and it's completely plant based product and you can find out more about this product by listening to this episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-skinny-confidential-him-her-podcast/id1093028505?i=1000551748559 Let us know if you have any episode suggestions for us by emailing us at wineamilikeythis@gmail.com or you can dm us @wineamilikethis on instagram. In today's episode, Margaret came up with this topic while listening to one of her favorite podcasts, Don't Keep Your Day Job. Pete Holmes said: "are you doing what you love, or are you doing what society tells you you should be doing" this quote brings up many emotions. Margaret hears this quote and thinks of all the people around her age that have "valuable jobs" that they went to school for and that somehow their job is more important than hers even though she would be downright miserable doing those jobs. Martha always goes back to being an immigrant, and the idea that's been ingrained in her brain is that she has to be constantly producing to be valuable. Society will tell us every day that we are never good enough, and we will never reach the goal of being good enough or doing enough, thanks to capitalism. So remember to take the time to do what makes you happy instead of always doing what society tells you to do, even if money is not attached to it. In today's episode, we looked up a list of top 2005 r&b songs on Apple Music, and we picked our favorites. The songs that ran our lives at the time; warning: we are "singing" in this episode. Is it bad? Probably. But we love it. We've got a lot of people on this list like Kanye West Bow Wow, Usher, Mario, Pretty Ricky and of course, Missy Elliott. We also share the cringe outfits we used to wear, like Margaret with her sweatbands and bracelets. We also share the cringe people we used to be, like Martha trying to dance a hip-hop routine for a talent show. Join us on this nostalgic blast from the past, where we go through some of our favorite songs that shaped our childhoods. In today's episode, we are talking about the spring equinox. It refers to the greek goddess Ostara. She's a lunar goddess representing earth moving forward and growing. Also, we reflect on the areas we have lived through, such as Margaret losing her mom and Martha developing into her career. We are proud of this little podcast. We have goals for this coming season. Margaret wants to exercise daily and stretch and do the splits! Martha wants to be more present with her body and focus on cooking. We're excited for this next season of our lives, and cheers to healing and growing! In today's episode, we talk about our 20s and how we used to act. We talk about FOMO (fear of missing out) and how we felt like we constantly needed to be entertained by countless amounts of friends. We didn't know how to be by ourselves or be happy alone without feeling lonely. We talk about this idea of needing to be popular, which we have school to blame for. We feel like we need to do stuff to be "cool constantly." We're not like that anymore. Now we're happy being focused on ourselves, manifesting and getting in touch with our spiritual selves. However, we still know how to have fun! We also talk about some crazy things we did in our 20s, like climbing buildings and going over to strangers' houses. We're grateful we're still alive and pretty excited about our thirties. Thirty and flirty and thriving! On todays episode we are talking about Martha's problem! We typically talk about my issues, but today I came over and I asked Martha what is something that's weighing heavy on her shoulders? She has a constant need to be perfect at everything. Which we all know is impossible. I've given Martha a challenge to log every single minute she spends working so we can see how much time she gives to her life and we're both here for the challenge! This need to be perfect is so unobtainable because you go around trying to please everyone which will not please see other person so it's a vicious never ending circle. A big problem we've noticed is there's not enough people saying they're proud of you for doing simple tasks. Like “ I'm proud of you for getting out of bed today” or I'm proud of you for eating today”. The world could be a lot nicer if we could all be here and be present a little more with the people in our lives so they know they matter. Martha feels like her need to be perfect stems a lot from being an immigrant. She came into this country at a very young age and this change everything for her and her family. Working hard was a way of life not a choice. We've come to the conclusion that this whole perfection mess takes up so much energy and a lot of it does come back to work so I'm really excited to see where this work challenge leads her and this summer she doesn't work! So we're here for it! Let us know if you have any episode suggestions for us by emailing us at wineamilikeythis@gmail.com or you can dm us @wineamilikethis on instagram. In today's episode, we talk about adulting and how much we hate it. 10/10 would not recommend. We're tired of all the tasks we have to do and all the trauma we as millennials have had to go through. We feel as if we are the first generation to stand up for mental health, and we're paving the way for generations to come. We talk about a list of 10 events to define a generation. You can find it here: https://beausoleil.medium.com/ten-events-that-defined-a-generation-millennial-edition-9dd5c2806a32 some things on the list include y2k, Princess Diana's death, and 9/11, just to get started. We disagree with the whole list, and there is plenty more to this list, like the countless school shootings we have lived through and Trump being elected. Even though it was only four years, it was terrible. Margaret went and changed her whole birth control simply because she was afraid he was going to take away women's rights. The Black Lives Matters movement and the Me Too movement was also massive event in our generation. All in all, we are continuously trying to be better, and also, we are exhausted! In today's episode, we have a guest! Kristi Lemos is the owner/manager of Heart Mind Body Wellness, a virtual-based health coaching & wellness company, where she provides individualized health coaching programs to busy women, parents, and professionals. Kristi helps her clients move forward in their health journey using her holistic framework, partnering with them to create actionable steps that build to sustainable habits through food, movement, and mindset. She completed her grad studies in Functional Nutrition and obtained her Master's degree in Public Health, where she found her home in all things social justice and health equity! As a result of the COVID pandemic, Kristi spent time a lot of looking inward, getting clear on her career and life-path, which led her to opening Heart Mind Body Wellness in March of 2021. Kristi's Heart Mind Body program is NOT your typical “cookie-cutter” personal-training or coaching program. It is customized to *each* person and focuses on healing, human connection, self-love, and strategic action planning to help you meet your personal goals for your body and for your life. She helps you connect to your WHY, what drives you to be healthy in the way that makes most sense for YOU and your life. Rather than feeling stuck or limited to society's standards, she helps you figure out what health and being healthy means for you! Kristi is running a “Love Your Body” group challenge in mid Feb-March where she provides 1 private coaching session, weekly group check-ins, and food & movement resources, such as meal planners, and more. In her private coaching sessions, Kristi helps you lay out a blueprint of your personal goals, according to your body's needs and your readiness level for change; and she helps you come up with a customized action plan to get you where you want to me on your health. Kristi plans to run additional group challenges in the summer and/or fall, so stay tuned for updates! In the meantime, she offers a free 30-minute consultation for anyone considering private coaching to find out if you're both a good fit for coaching. On todays episode we are talking about our fundates! We love giving updates on our lives and sometimes we've got so much things to talk about that we just decide to devote an hour to it! this week we talk about Margaret's recent vacation in Hawaii and how beautiful the island is and how much she needed the trip. The big island is hands down the best island and everyone should RESPECTFULLY check it out. Martha talks about the recent energy blocks that she has been going through. She has been constantly seeing angel numbers all around her and she feels as if her ancestors are reaching out and trying to tell her something, she has been working on gathering more witchy stuff like a couple books: “American Brujeria *Modern Mexican American Folk Magic *” by J. Allen Cross and “Brujas The Magic And Power Of Witches Of Color” by Lorraine Monteagut. Also we plan on having full moon parties in the future once Margaret moves towards the mountain and we are very excited. This Valentines day was also the year anniversary of Margaret's mom passing, so she was able to go on a hike with her family and spread some of her ashes. In today's episode, we are talking about love languages! The idea is from a book called The Five Love Languages: How To Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate by Gary Chapman. We each take the quiz and find out that we both have multiple love languages. But our love languages are pretty similar. Our big one is acts of service. You can take the quiz here: https://www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/love-language We also talk about an attachment style quiz that goes hand in hand with the love language quiz, which you can take here: https://attachment.personaldevelopmentschool.com/ One problem that Margaret had with the attachment style quiz was the wording of the quiz. It refers to the caretakers from your early childcare as in mom and dad, which triggered a lot of things from her past, making her unable to finish the quiz. Not having all the inclusive words for the quiz and languages etc., is problematic. We found an updated, more inclusive ebook for the love languages with 18 different languages referring to all different types of love. https://www.themodernlovelanguages.com *We have no affiliation with any of the websites or books/authors listed above, no financial compensation was given to us* Let us know if you have any episode suggestions for us by emailing us at wineamilikeythis@gmail.com or you can dm us @wineamilikethis on Instagram. On todays epsiode we are talking about money and the problems we have around money. We both have problems feeling like we're not important enough to spend money on ourselves so that is something we're working on. Telling ourselves that we are worth it. Martha talks about her feelings with her family being immigrants and how it relates to money. Margaret works though a recent problem she had with Colin around money. We talk about things we're doing to try and work passed these feelings of not being enough. Martha wants two start budgeting for a savings account and Margaret is saying just eff it more and buying the shopping cart instead of letting it sit there. On todays epsiode we are finally back in person! We are so excited to be in the same room with one another! Today we talk about this idea of “weaponized incompetence” which is when someone who pretends they didn't know how to do something when in fact, they do. A lot of times this is done by men. Men pretend they don't know how to do chores or go to the grocery store or cook dinner simply so they don't have to, and there's no possible way they could learn. We're tired of the idea that it's “sexy” for a man to do basic chores around the house, so we're praising them for doing the bare minimum. We would like to get passed this and stop taking care of men their whole lives so that we can stop being so exhausted. This is something that's been going on forever. It goes back to how a lot of men are raised with not a lot expected out of them where as women are expected to be care takers. Of course we know it's not all men. But it's enough. On todays epsiode we had to record virtually again with the rise of omicron. Martha has actually caught the virus this time so she has had to quarantine all week. It was bound to happen sooner or later. She got some much needed sleep her body desperately needed. Today we talk about Covid experiences and continue on with our fun dates until we can meet again. We touch on topics about how when we're finally able to gather we plan on doing a whole day of manifesting and how Martha is just simply sick of trying to date and happy being alone. Margaret is also looking forward to moving and creating her outdoor gym with a Peloton and maybe even selling feet pics and gym shorts who knows what the future brings, but hopefully it's less of a 9-5 and more travel and freedom! On todays epsiode we had to record virtually again with the rise of omicron. We really needed to talk about anything that would make us happy so we picked 2000's fashion naturally. Low rise jeans were the winner of the 2000's fashion, or the loser who's to say. They really were very problematic reshaping all of our bodies in a very not cute way. We also touch on Ugg boots, thin scarves, old navy flip flops, frosted tips and chunky highlights just to name a few. If we could bring back any of these trends, there really isn't too many good ones. The sequined satchel bag was a fave, and some of the awesome shoes like Reeboks, FUBU, and the platform flip-flops. Today episode is being released the day before Margaret's wedding. We decided to have today's episode be a full episode of our fun dates. Martha has been exposed so we were forced to do a zoom podcast and unfortunately she can not attend the wedding so we are very sad! For our updates we talk the wedding and a fun weekend getaway Margaret had in Seattle on a hot tub bot on the water with hottubboats.com. Martha also talks about how hard its is to date while being a therapist and an empath. Everyone seems to want to tell her their life stories on date one. We end with setting our intentions for 2022! On todays episode we're talking about our friendships and how they have evolved over the years. How easy it was to make friends with kids in elementary school, and how everyone in your class was your friend. Elementary school really was the golden years. So easy. As we got older making friends became so different. Cliques started to form, and friendships became harder. We all remember going through the toxicity of myspace top 8. The top 8 could make or break a best friendship. Join us on our journey through friendships and where we would like our friendships to be now and in the future. On todays episode we're talking about period stories! We talk about how old we were when we first got ours and how we hate how periods are looked at as “disgusting”. So many girls hide tampons up their sleeve and go to the bathroom or if a boy finds an unused pad they make fun of the person who has it . So we wish that would stop. We currently both do not have our periods due to birth control and we talk about where we would like to go with our periods one day. On todays episode we're talking about the energy we used to have versus the energy we do not have now regarding our “hoetivities” We take pleasure in our game of swindling men out of their money. When we were in our early twenties we were able to stay up all night simply to get laid and get hammered and successfully go to work the next day. Today we could never. Margaret often finds herself asleep by 7 pm these days. When we were younger we also made a lot less money, so we had to figure out ways to maximize the small amounts of money we had and today we're way too lazy and will 100% buy a $40 uber to get home. 21 year old us could never. On todays episode we're talking about our childhood crushes and how in love we were with them. On this episode we're naming names! We have no idea where these people are today so who cares!? Margaret actually made a rule that every year she had to have a crush on someone in her class. Even when there was no cute boys in the class she would still end up picking someone. Martha didn't fall in love with anyone until 4th grade due to her childhood drama that she started. But Margaret started picking out boys real young in kindergarten. we would also like to get rid of the saying, “if he's mean to you, he must like you”! Because that's problematic and we shouldn't raise our children to be that way. The amount of crushes we had from the mean people is not okay. Let us know who your childhood crushes were and if you know where they are today Let us know if you have any episode suggestions for us by emailing us at wineamilikeythis@gmail.com or you can dm us @wineamilikethis on instagram. On todays episode we're talking about female empowerment and how we enjoy the fact that sex work is being talked about more openly. We talk about how Only Fans has been a great platform for people in porn and how our TikTok algorithm has shown us that some men are capable of standing up for women's rights to other men. We also talk about how much we love strippers and maybe one day we will get into selling gym shorts and underwear instead of working, because lets be honest? Who wants a 9-5 anyways!? On todays episode we're talking about the top hits from billboard 2002! What a great year for music! We go up to the top 20 and all but 3 of these songs pass the vibe check for us! Our favorite songs on this list include Usher's “You Got It Bad” and “You Don't Have To Call” along with “Hot in Herr” by Nelly we cannot get over these songs. They all live rent free in our head forever. Catch ANYONE saying “its hot in here” and we HAVE to reply and say “so take off all your clothes” Ludacris' “Move Bitch” also made the cut and we say MOVE BITCH everyday of our lives! The list can be found here: https://www.billboard.com/charts/year-end/2002/hot-r-and-and-b-hip-hop-songs Let us know if you have any episode suggestions for us by emailing us at wineamilikeythis@gmail.com or you can dm us @wineamilikethis on instagram. On todays episode trigger warning, we're talking about death. If death is something that is hard for you to hear at this time in your life, you might want to skip this episode. We are talking about death in honor of dia de muertos. Its the first and second day after halloween. The 1st is for the children who have passed and the 2nd is for the adults. Typically you set up an alter with photographs of your lost loved ones with offerings of their favorite food, or drink whatever they loved. This year Martha has invited Margaret to bring in her Grandma and Mom to be on her alter. We talk a lot about death in this episode, and at some point while we were recording we didn't feel alone! Also in this episode Margaret talks about an Etsy artist she found on TikTok where the artist uses some of your loved ones ashes and turns them into an art piece. You can find her work here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/carelanie Let us know if you have any episode suggestions for us by emailing us at wineamilikeythis@gmail.com or you can dm us @wineamilikethis on instagram. On todays episode we have another guest! Today we have on Margaret's fiancé to talk about spooky stories and folklore! His name is Colin Schacht and he gets very passionate about spooky things and folklore so we thought he would be the prefect guest. First we talk about duendes which come from Mexican culture. They're creatures that take kids, and Colin comes up with a theory about them that is pretty interesting. We also talk about Djinns which spiral into Colin talking about American Gods which is a show about Gods that he's obsessed with. Join and listen as we talk about many fairytales that we've heard throughout our lives and some of the meanings and conclusions that we've drawn from them as adults. On this episode, we are talking about overthinking and anxiety. Which is very spooky!! We are over thinking about overthinking! It's a very hard life out here. Anxiety is rushing through our veins and it's boiling over! Margaret is working through being faced with so many options for every day life and then just being overwhelmed with all the options, so she just decides to do nothing. Martha deals with anxiety by going into auto pilot and simply going through the motions of life and work. We both can physically feel our anxiety. Martha ends up laying in bed all day and can sometimes find it hard to get out of bed and Margaret simply can't sleep. We're both talking through our problems and trying to figure them out. We're all overworked here and we need a break! Basically capitalism is ruining our lives and we hate it here. On this episode, we are continuing with the theme of Fall because October is the best! This week we're taking about costumes! We dive into the costumes we had when we were kids. We both grew up poor with our parents making our costumes. One year Margaret was even a pillow case because her mom forgot until the very end to figure out costumes. Hoping to recreate that costume again in the future. Planned on doing it this year, but we both decided on a better costume for this year! We both also get frustrated that women are “supposed” to be sexy on halloween like it's an expectation. We're steering more towards hilarious costumes from here on out for the laughs. Halloween is the best and we're always here for it also you should be allowed to trick or treat at any age!! We have picked out what we want to be for halloween this year and we reveal it on this episode! On this episode, we are continuing with the theme of Fall because October is the best! This week we're taking about spooky stories! Martha tells the story of La Llorona that she grew up hearing while she was a kid. The story is pretty spooky and basically the parents would tell their kids if they don't behave then La Llorona would come and take them away! Margaret speaks about the haunted house she grew up in and then she remembered a spooky dream that she remembered from when she was a child that involves skeletons and cauldrens! On this episode, we are talking about fall! We are so excited for the Fall!! We wanted to do an episode that was going to make us happy and it's officially fall and we are ready! Specifically, we're excited for the trees to change and to see the snow on Mt. Hood. We are pumped for air bnb's with our friends and hot tubs! We're ready for the hot springs and Oregon beaches in the fall! Oregon is beautiful in the fall. The first place we will visit this fall is the Sauvie's Island Pumpkin Patch. It brings up so much nostalgia! Margaret has grown up going there her whole life and every year she brings any friend who will join her as many times as possible. Another thing we're STOKED for is the FOOOOOD!!! All the best food holidays are in the fall! We don't support the meaning of Thanksgiving but we stand for the food. With the cold weather comes soup season! We both love soups of all kind! Martha's way she shows love is by making them food and we are ready! On this episode, we are talking about empaths again! We wanted to make an empath part 2 episode because we have a lot more things to say and work through with our problematic empathic selves. We talk about how we watch our friends get along in their lives without us and we get jealous, but its stupid because of course they have fun with other people! We love being empaths, but we realize that it can sometimes be unhealthy to take on the responsibility of everyone's feelings. We also end up giving each other a lot of therapy advice in this episode! In the intro we talk about the problematic Newberg school district here in Oregon and here is the NPR article: https://www.npr.org/2021/08/24/1030723336/oregon-school-board-faces-backlash-after-banning-black-lives-matter-and-pride-fl Let us know if you have any episode suggestions by emailing us at wineamilikethis@gmail.com or you can DM us @wineamilikethis on instagram. On this episode, we are discussing an article that Martha came across. The article is: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2015/01/09/style/no-37-big-wedding-or-small.amp.html Its called “The 36 Questions That Lead To Love”. These are the questions you can ask a partner you'r pursuing to figure out if you love them or not. They are far better questions than asking “what do you like to do for fun?” Which we all know lead to absolutely NOTHING! These questions help you actually engage in the relationship and help you engage in intimacy to see if there's any potential at all. On this episode we've picked out a few questions from this list and answered them for ourselves. Do we love each other more in the end? TBD. On this episode, we have our first guest! It's Martha's sister Veronica. We only have 2 mics so unfortunately it's a bit hard to hear our guest! But we're learning and we're growing and buying another mic. W're talking about toxic relationships in this episode from family relationships and partners. We speak of body shaming issues and Veronica speaks about how her mom has been an extremely toxic person in her life. If toxic relationships are triggering for you, you might want to skip this episode. These are our experiences with toxic relationships. We found a list of different toxic traits and we all run through them and how they've Impacted our lives. a lot of this episodes ends up being abut our moms and the toxicity they have brought into our lives and how we're dealing with it. Veronica ended up telling us that she has someone using her by staying on her couch and she gave him a week to move out and we would like to update that he has moved out! On this episode, we discuss best friends! This is an old episode we recorded so it may sound a bit rough. Bear with us please. We always wanted to release this episode since we recorded it, but it took a bit more time to edit it. This episode is very touching, we go through all of our friendships and talk about how friendships ebb and flow and how they have their ups and downs. And in this episode Margaret reveals to Martha that she is becoming her best friend. Now after almost a year of recording together of course we're best friends. This episode was the first time we said it and it was just super sweet. We also talk a lot about guy best friends and having them and how it needs to be normalized that men and women can be best friends without there being anything else to the relationship. On this episode, we discuss empaths! This is going to be a 2 parter because it turns out we have a lot to say! We've figured out we are 100% empaths. We talk about this to each other often. We first go over the 10 ways you know you're an empath and our feelings on that list. And then we go over the 5 lessons for empaths. The first 2 are definitely the hardest ones. 1: You can't save everyone 2: Sometimes you can't save the ones that you want. So powerful! We both come to tough realizations with this one, and I'm pretty sure we both got teary eyed. On this episode, we talk about the current state of the earth and how it's not getting better. This episode may be a little depressing but lets face it, it's hard to stay positive with everything we'v got going on right now. The Delta variant is thriving and we see no end in COVID. Please get your vaccine! And on top of COVID, we are currently in fire season and it just seems like the whole world is on fire right now. A fire broke out in Siberia which is one of the coldest places on earth. Due to oil in the ocean, the ocean actually caught on fire! Basically we're destroying our planet and it's just so stressful to watch. If you make it through this episode, thank you for listening, sorry for the sadness and please get vaccinated! On this episode, we talk about how racism has played a role in both bringing music up while all tearing it down. W're doing a review an episode of “This Is Pop” from Netflix. The episode covers the rise and fall of Boys 2 Men. This episode helped open our eyes so much at just how upset we should be at boy bands. Boys 2 Men worked extremely hard to work their way to the top of multiple chart and as soon as the boy bands came in they stole the show and it was easier for them due to their privilege. Nick from 98 Degrees admitted to copying Boys 2 Men. We are charged and we need to give Boys 2 Men the credit they deserve. Go watch The Is Pop and listen to Boys 2 Men. Also if you have any corrections for us where we may have been wrong, let us know. We are always eager to grow. On this episode, we talk about CDs! Who knew we could talk about CDs for an hour but once we got started the nostalgia just came flooding right in! The kids today will never know about burning Cds and getting tons of viruses on your family computer by using Limewire and Napster to illegally download all of our favorite songs. We revisit our first CDs and the good old Walkmen. We love nostalgia on this pod. Listen and take a trip down memory lane! On this episode, we talk about tattoos and piercings! We're obsessed. Margaret was saying she gets tattoos on areas of her body that she's uncomfortable with for example, her thighs. After the thigh tattoos, she became in love with her thighs. We're really not here for the judgement that tattoos make you less professional. How does a tattoo take away from the experience and education that you have learned and gained? In Portland we're constantly pushing the boundaries of what's accepted in the professional work place and we're loving it. We have many more tattoos we want to get. Margaret wants to be covered in flowers from her favorite tattoo artist who she met in a dive bar bathroom. @tattoos_by_kassandra is her instagram. Martha is interested in getting plenty more, but is having trouble finding an artist. We love tattoos, and we're here them if only our bank accounts were endless! On this episode, we talk about how hard it is for us to find clothes that fit us well. Margaret just wishes she could be a nudest and is banning jeans. We will forever be scarred by from skinny jeans! They're terrible. I think every girl struggles with being one size in one store and a completely different size in another store. Which makes online shopping scary. Along with jeans, we're also banning bras. We say boobs and nipples 100 times on this episode and it's awesome! Bras are not comfortable and free the nipple! We both have very different bodies and have issues with the whole “plus size” modeling what qualifies as plus size. Some stores will shame bigger sizes by putting them in the back which is not okay. Plus size clothing should be integrated into the rest of the clothes instead of shamed into another section of the back of the store. All in all we hate clothes and want tailored clothes. On this episode, we talk about if we want to have kids or not. We've both decided kids are not in the cards for us. We both enjoy being aunts and watching kids from afar. We both have watched birth through our sisters and frankly, we're scarred. We both also have known since we were kids that we didn't want them. When we were kids and thought we were SUPPOSED to have them, we both wanted 1 boy and 1 girl twins so we could get them out of the way. Now we know we don't have to have them and that's okay. Everyone should be able to make their own decision. Some of our friends want kids and we couldn't be more happy for them. We can't wait to spoil them. On this episode, we talk about our current workout routine. The gym has been a tough place especially during the pandemic. Margaret's journey has been tough from losing a ton of weight to gaining muscle and actually watching the scale go up through lifting heavy. Margaret has been on a heavy lifting journey and can currently deadlift 233 pounds! We talk about gym atmospheres and why it's sometimes hard to workout in big corporate gyms. We also talk about how constant workout doesn't always lead to weight loss. food is very important and not starving yourself is important. It's a balance and a hard one to find. Every body is beautiful and you don't need to workout to be beautiful. And not everyone who works out will look the same. Disclaimer: we are not experts and this is all our opinions and thoughts. There may be a couple sensitive topics in this episode based around pregnancy and not being able to get pregnant. We touch on our beliefs around pro life and how we do not support it, if those topics are hard for you to hear, you may want to skip this episode. On this episode, we talk about birth control and the types we're on and why we chose the methods we have. Both of us have the IUD. Martha had terrible period cramps which is why she chose it,, and Margaret chose hers during the Trump presidency out of fear. We also talk about how there's no birth control for men because they claim there's no way they would take something with that many side affects and they don't want anyone telling them what to do with their bodies. Which is pretty STRANGE. We strongly support Planned parenthood and another great resource for birth control is the pill club. On this episode, we talk about men and how easily they fall in love with us. This is a common problem. It happens to all women at some point or another. You start hanging out with a man and 2 seconds later they're in love with you. This secret is something she ha been holding back for a while and has just recently been able to speak her truth out loud.
