“Once I put the plan in place, I have to let go of it, meaning that there needs to be space in my life to listen to my intuition.” –Dr. Mary SandersYou are highly intuitive. Are you listening and trusting the golden nuggets you are receiving? I'm talking with Dr. Mary Sanders, a chiropractor, a medical intuitive, and a positive psychologist about intuition, energy, and grounding.Mary's story, like most, isn't linear. She takes us around the globe and through many years of learning and opening up to her gifts. We agree that planning allows you to be more in the present — even when things don't turn out as you planned. The plan allows you to keep moving and the movement opens up new channels. We talk about: Mary developing different ways of perception due to her hearing deficitHow travel can be disorienting (and what else can disorient us)What can ground you anywhere in the worldLong spiral routes to what you are meant to doCentering our energetic body in the present, not the past or futureHow planning and intuition can work together. ABOUT MARYDr. Mary Sanders is a Doctor of Chiropractic with an emphasis in Functional Nutrition and Positive Psychology. She also obtained a Master's Degree in Intuition Medicine from the Academy of Intuition Medicine. Her life's purpose is to guide you in aligning with your true self, embracing your inner wholeness, and transforming your physical, emotional, and energetic well-being. Her unique expertise lies in an integrative healing approach that combines the intuitive power of energy medicine with the proven tools of positive psychology. LINKShttps://www.drmarysanders.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/drmaryesanders/https://www.youtube.com/@dr.maryesandershttps://www.facebook.com/dr.maryesandershttps://www.instagram.com/dr.maryesandersDOABLE CHANGESAt the end of every episode, we share three doable changes, so you can take what you've heard and put it into action. Change comes from action. Sometimes action gets a bad rap. You can be kind to yourself. You can practice being AND doing, but for change to happen you have to take steps. The way we take care of ourselves is making the steps doable and focusing on one thing at a time. We take time to integrate the change and then move on to the next one. Pick a Doable Change that resonates with you the most to start from. Here are three Doable changes that we chose from this conversation. CHECK YOUR RESOURCES. At one point Mary refers to chocolate and red wine as resources — right before burnout. Sometimes we do rely on resources that aren't really serving or helping us. What are you using for “resources” right now? Are they helping?WHAT GIFT HAVE YOU IGNORED? What is something you are good at or meant to do that you haven't studied or tried because it wasn't practical? How could you explore this gift — either a giant leap or a tiny step? Journal things you could do.PRACTICE PLANNING AND PIVOTING. Do you avoid planning because too much seems up in the air? Or create a plan and hold onto it rigidly? What if you made a plan and acted on it, with room to adjust and change? Check in before your next step. Is your intuition on board? Go for it.

Also check out the video version on my WeitzChiro YouTube page.]   Podcast Highlights Rethinking Probiotics: Keystone Anaerobes, Butyrate, and Microbiome Ecosystems with Designs for Health Dr. Ben Weitz introduces the Rational Wellness Podcast episode challenging the assumption that gut issues are solved by adding more traditional probiotics, arguing microbiome repair is an ecosystem and function problem. He interviews Dr. Oscar Cozo and Danielle Arnold of Designs for Health about differences between transient aerobic probiotics (e.g., lactobacillus/bifidobacteria) and keystone anaerobic strains that form the microbiome's foundation, can engraft, drive down gut oxygen, and support cross-feeding. They discuss live, refrigerated delivery for anaerobes; a spore-capable keystone strain (Anaerostipes); and a case study showing improved food allergies, normalization of Akkermansia, increased butyrate-related effects, and reduction of opportunists without antimicrobials. They cover butyrate's roles (tight junctions, mucus, immune regulation, HDAC inhibition), fiber and resistant starch strategies, stool testing (GI-MAP additions for anaerobes and short-chain fatty acids), diet restriction concerns, and practitioner support and case report publishing with Designs for Health. 00:00 Show Intro and Mission 01:00 Probiotics vs Ecosystem Thinking 02:56 Aerobes vs Anaerobes Explained 07:06 Keystone Species and Engraftment 09:18 New Anaerobic Strains and Allergy Research 11:06 Live Shipping and Feeding the Strains 14:03 Case Study Crowding Out Dysbiosis 18:03 Rethinking the Five R Protocol 24:26 Testing and Prebiotic Pairings 26:52 Butyrate and Microbiome Benefits 28:40 Conventional Probiotics Still Matter 35:04 Sponsor Break Apollo Wearable 36:37 Crowding Out Pathogens and Fungi Role 39:58 Archaea and Mucosa 41:21 Mucus Layer and Biofilms 43:11 Feeding Keystone Microbes 44:18 Fiber Targets and Tolerance 46:51 Probiotic as SIBO Option 48:54 Resistant Starch Basics 51:52 Stool Test Dysbiosis Patterns 54:32 Akkermansia and Metabolism 56:44 Histamine Bugs and Enzymes 01:02:26 Gut Healing Nutrients 01:05:34 Diet Diversity and Reintros 01:08:21 Wrap Up and Product Details 01:13:10 Podcast Outro and Clinic Info   Dr. Oscar Coatzee has over 25 years experience in psychology and nutrition and is currently the VP of clinical education and practitioner support at Designs For Health. Resveratrol + Copper Research, Plus Grain-Free Strategies for Stalled Weight Loss: Leyla Muedin, a registered dietitian nutritionist, answers listener emails. She reviews a small India study (BJC Reports, published September 30, 2025) in which 10 glioblastoma patients awaiting surgery received resveratrol (5.6 mg) and copper (560 ng) four times daily for about 11.6 days, compared with 10 controls; the combination generated reactive oxygen species that deactivated cell-free chromatin particles in the tumor microenvironment and reduced cancer hallmarks. Asked whether this could be prophylactic against cancer, she says it is unknown and requires replication in larger studies, advising supplement use be discussed with a practitioner. She then addresses grain elimination for stalled weight loss: replace grains with more meat and non-starchy vegetables, think beyond typical breakfast foods by using leftovers, and use small portions of starchy vegetables (e.g., squash or potato) if starch helps sleep. She recommends investigating root causes of anxiety and poor sleep and suggests moderation for foods like oatmeal.

Send a textIn this episode, I'm talking about boundaries in the body — not just emotional or relational boundaries, but biological ones.If you've been feeling porous, reactive, sensitive to everything around you, unable to regulate, or like you're absorbing more than you can hold… this may not be a personality flaw. It may be your terrain. We're in a season of repair, and I want to help you understand what's actually happening underneath the surface.I walk you through:• The gut lining as your first biological boundary• How intestinal permeability (leaky gut) creates chronic immune activation• Why histamine overload makes you feel allergic to life• How mineral depletion affects nervous system containment• The role of microbial diversity in strengthening or degrading your inner ecosystem• Why motility and drainage matter just as much as “sealing the gut”If your tight junctions are compromised, your immune system never fully stands down. If your microbiome is dysbiotic, inflammatory metabolites affect your mood, cognition, and stress response. If your minerals are depleted, your nervous system loses clarity and your cells lose their ability to hold a charge. This isn't woo. It's biology. And it's deeply connected to how you experience boundaries in your daily life.If you haven't already, I recommend listening to my earlier episode where I break down the mechanisms of leaky gut and metabolic endotoxemia in detail:
