The Matrix, Chapter 21 Featuring a chapter novelized by Alex Rubens and narrated by Richard Ayoade, plus an interview with Brian Shortall. Richard Ayoade is a comedian, actor, writer and director who stared in The IT Crowd, Krapopolis, Disenchantment, and more. Four-time Emmy Award nominee Alex Rubens is the showrunner of Krapopolis. He has written on such critically acclaimed shows as Key & Peele, Rick and Morty, and Community. Brian Shortall is a Second City and iO alum with nearly 20 years experience performing, writing and teaching comedy and improvisation. Brian has appeared in feature films including Blockers and television shows such as Key & Peele. He's written for Girl Boss on Netflix. Each season on The Novelizers, we take a beloved film, give each scene to a TV comedy writer (from SNL, The Simpsons, Colbert, and more) to novelize. Then we give those scenes to a comedian or actor to narrate. Plus interviews with the people who (may or may not have) made the original film. The Novelizers is produced by Stephen Levinson, with Graham Douglas, Kevin Carter, Christine Bullen, Dennis DiClaudio, Rob Kutner, and Suchetas Bokil. Music and additional editing by Cole Emoff. Graphic design by Crystal Dennis. Theme song by Andrew Lin, performed by Knotts. Reprise performed by Paige Beller and sometimes Aimee Mann. The Novelizers is a work of parody, unauthorized by Warner Brothers. Follow The Novelizers on Instagram, Threads, Facebook and TikTok, and please donate to our Patreon. Copyright 2024 Novelizers LLC.

Hey folks. Here is the final (probably. maybe. we'll see) episode of 2021...and possibly the second last of the podcast (probably. maybe. we'll see) depending if/when Dan is available to chat. It's been another fun year at Six Seasons and a Podcast and my final chat with was Alex Rubens (Community, Rick and Morty). The funny thing is it took Alex and I six months to find a time and date that worked for us and it only took me another six months to publish this episode, so it feels like Alex and I are old friends at this point. Either way. Enjoy this great conversation.

Sydnee Goodman & Alex Rubens married on June 2, 2018 at The Ranch at Laguna Beach. These avid gamers hosted an incredible, vibrant celebration that truly reflected their personalities, love story and love for video games. Their story began at a Call of Duty Tournament, leading to a first date filled with ping pong, arcade games and savory bites. In the early days of their relationship Sydnee and Alex overcame distance, eventually settling down in Los Angeles, California, where they still continue to call home. Their shared passion for video games and their gaming community has fostered a relationship and newlywed life filled with fun, friendly competition and creativity. On planning their wedding Sydnee shares, "I was determined to make the wedding as much about us as possible, and we met through our passion for games." While their celebration was a perfect reflection of who they are and what they value, their wedding planning journey started off with another direction. On the episode today Sydnee and Alex recount how they had to pump the brakes, reevaluate and then fully create a celebration and a life that truly reflected who they were. This is their story.(Photo courtesy of Ivy Reynolds/The Gold Collective) See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
