Chris Waters is a 20-year veteran of animation and television development and production for kids/family and adult audiences. He currently serves as CPO of Playground Productions, an independent studio focused on development, finance and distribution of kids' and family content and co-founder of NounsFest, which funds and distributes independent animation globally. Prior to that, he served as head of development for nine-time Emmy® Award-winning Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (Robot Chicken, Crossing Swords, MODOK, Ultra City Smiths) and was co-founder of Oktobor Animation (Kung Fu Panda Legends of Awesomeness, Penguins of Madagascar, Robot and Monster). Chris lives in Los Angeles and wakes up early every New Year's Day to attend the Rose Parade, so making the “Shark Pickle Cone” documentary was a dream come true. Neil Berkeley is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker. His third feature film, GILBERT, follows the life and career of beloved and intensely private comedian, Gilbert Gottfried. The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017 and was distributed by Gravitas Ventures with exclusive SVOD on Hulu. His first feature film, BEAUTY IS EMBARASSING, premiered at SXSW in 2012 and chronicles inspiring artist Wayne White. The film won several Best Documentary Awards and was featured in PBS' Independent Lens in January of 2013. His second feature, HARMONTOWN, premiered at SXSW in 2014 and follows self-destructive TV writer Dan Harmon on an emotional, cross- country journey of self-discovery. Berkeley most recently served as showrunner for Amazon's standup comedy doc series, INSIDE JOKES. He is also a founding partner at Decential Media. Decential is a web3 media company focusing on telling the stories about the human side of emerging technology. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crypto-hipster-podcast/support

Smith keeps trying to get Jeezy Chreesties [sic] to stick. Smith tries to convince Joe that an angel gave Smith a urim and thummim. This chapter of the BOM includes a quick, Bible fan fic, summary of the life and times of JC. Joe forgets the title of the Crispin Glover movie, Willard from 2003. Bane returns to give us a long wind-up and prediction of JC from the BOM. Joe expresses his disappointment for the lack of bear intercourse in The Revenant (2015). Smith calls Joe out for trying to move things along by giving Smith agreeable answers. Joe celebrates that he can get answers to simple questions without ads from ChatGPT by Open AI, Smith predicts what the future will be like with ads. Smith has more promises from his urim and thummim. Joe refers back to several dirty raps from the old Harmontown podcast. The guys piece together how this chapter of the BOM brings non-consensual dom/sub dynamics into LDS scripture. Smith refers back to this episode of The Dollop podcast. The guys refer back to the NF doc, Murder Among the Mormons as well as the co-directors' episode of the Jahnadlyn fun hour.

Hey everybody, I'm Greg Sowell and this is Why Am I, a podcast where I talk to interesting people and try to trace a path to where they find themselves today. My guest this go around is Spencer Crittenden. Spencer is kind of a big deal; you might recognize him from: the Harmontown podcast where he DM'd, the show Great Minds from the History Channel, Harmonquest where he DM'd, or from his guest spot on Community as Annie's brother. He's also a very polished, fight me, podcaster on the That Happens podcast. He's also a deep thinker who strives to precisely articulate his emotions to others; he's actually got a mastery I'll probably never obtain. Real quick, pause this and go to patreon.com/thesixler and become part of his community, support your favorite creators, and then enjoy this chat with Spencer. Please show them some love on their socials here: https://twitter.com/Thesixler, https://thathappenspod.com/, https://www.patreon.com/thesixler. Find more info at http://whyamipod.com. Almost 10 years ago, this young DM/GM joined CHANNEL 101 creator Dan Harmon, and COMPUTER MAN's Jeff Davis on stage, to begin a live Dungeons & Dragons campaign that set many Harmontown goers (or podcast listeners) on fire with adventurous excitement. As evident in shows like HarmonQuest & Great Minds or his podcast That Happens, there seems to be no limit to Spencer's creativity & talent! Light the fuse, bring the boom, dinosaurs! Dave talks about the episode of Dark Side of the Ring that covers his life story. Harmontown inspires Gable to sing music that hurts Dave's ears. However the songs are no where near as good as the songs in Bo Burnham's Netflix special Inside. Sometimes it’s too long, sometimes it’s too short. Sometimes it’s too technical, other times its strokes are too broad. But occasionally, it’s just right. After listening to Dan Harmon’s public apology for sexually harassing her, Megan Ganz describes in This American Life Episode 674, Get a Spine, how Harmon nailed it. Community is made by Dan Harmon, creator of Rick and Morty, a bunch of stuff on the old Channel 101, and also Harmontown. It's supposed to be good, but I guess I just never got round to it, or maybe it was overhyped, but I'm watching it now. In a first for One for Paul, I'm doing a solo episode where I go through the plot of what is supposed to be the best episode of hit show Community. It's not a revelation to learn that any comedian offstage is a shy weirdo. What's utterly revealing and totally fantastic about this film is seeing Gilbert Gottfried's marriage, which is a model of affection and good sense in the face of eccentricity. Every couple should see this. Every marriage should be more like his. This is the rare film where a look at a performer's private life is not what you expect at all, and also weirdly inspiring. I loved this. Ira Glass Legendary comedian Gilbert Gottfried has had quite the career. Rocketing to fame in the 1980s, he was thrust into the public consciousness almost immediately thanks to his brash personality, unique worldview, and off-kilter comic timing. Now, foul-mouthed and unapologetic after decades of flying solo in both his work and in his personal life, Gilbert has shockingly reinvented himself…as a family man. Director Neil Berkeley's Gilbert reveals an unexpected side to the iconic comedian. The film peeks behind the larger-than-life persona at a more personal story about growing up in Brooklyn and becoming a husband and father late in life. Gottfried's singular outlook on life and his ability to bring humor to even the darkest situations has, at times, gotten him into trouble. Still he soldiers on, an expert craftsman at bringing his audience to the edge (and sometimes pushing them over). Gilbert strips the comedic character away to reveal the man behind it. Berkeley allows the audience an intimate — even vulnerable — view of Gottfried out of character. On today's show we talked with Director Neil Berkeley about his upcoming documentary Gilbert which will be showing on November 8th in Houston at The Alamo Drafthouse. Neil Berkeley, Producer/ Director/ Writer Neil Berkeley is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker and entrepreneur. His first feature film, Beauty Is Embarrassing, premiered at SXSW in 2012 and chronicles the life and times of the inspiring artist Wayne White. The film won several Best Documentary awards and was featured in PBS' Independent Lens in January of 2013. His second feature, Harmontown, premiered at SXSW in 2014 and follows self-destructive TV writer Dan Harmon on an emotional, cross-country journey of self-discovery. He is currently in production on his fourth feature documentary, currently titled Death Is a Door. The film is the story of how American rock music became a lifestyle for many young Cubans in the late '80s. The decisions they made led to rampant police abuse combined with oppression from the government and eventually drove several hundred of them to self-inject with HIV. Berkeley is also a successful commercial and promo director and has worked with brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac and Kraft Foods. He is the owner of BRKLY, a design based production company focused on developing marketing campaigns for network and cable television. The company has helped launch some of TV's most popular shows, including Brother vs. Brother, Scandal, Project Runway, Top Chef and many more. Some thoughts after watching the documentary Harmontown. Being emotionally vulnerable without being an emotional bag of emotion.
Matt and Andrew need to do this podcast to be good people.

Jen Bekman, Zoë Salditch, and Mike Merrill were our guests live on stage at the XOXO 2014 festival in Portland, Oregon, as part of the Story evening that also featured Hrishikesh Hirway's Song Exploder, featuring a song by The Thermals; John Roderick (The Long Winters) interviewing Chelsea Cain; and Harmontown with Dino Stamatopoulos.Jen Bekman founded 20x200 in 2007 to provide art at accessible prices. She spoke about her in work in 2012 at XOXO. Then she had a terrible, no good, very bad year. For a lot of reasons, she can't discuss the particulars of what happened, but she had to reboot 20x200: its site, its technology, its art, and its trust with existing customers. If you have beautiful digital art, you need a place to display it. That's the idea behind Electronic Objects, a massively funded Kickstarter project from a month ago. But Zoë Salditch's interest is less in the technology than the uses to which people will put it. In the midst of producing their EO1 model, they have artists in residence working on concpetual ideas and are considering one future for their hardware as a platform for art — maybe 20x200 and EO have a lot in common? With most people, saying "I can buy and sell you" is a boast about one's own ostensible net worth. With Mike Merrill, it's the literal truth. Mike is a publicly traded company, and shareholders can vote on the course his life takes, including how he pursues romantic interests. Shares in KMIKEYM have traded as high as $25 and typically change hands in a band of $5 to $10.
