Sometimes, if given the choice, we would rather chose the blocker over God's blessing. We assume the blocker isn't that bad. We would rather do it our way, and it's not like we are missing out on anything too big. Most people would chose the same; majority wins. But when we start rationalizing our way as truth, choosing it instead of God, we are choosing a life of sin and idolatry. On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Pastor Chad Gilligan unpacks more Blessing Blockers in your life.

In our first ever live podcast (streamed on Facebook for members), we dive into practical strategies for driving instructors to take control of what they can—and thrive despite DVSA test‑booking challenges. Plus, Diana shares two “Digs Deeper” coaching moments, and we explore clever learner‑driven terminology for blockers, hazards, and reflection over perfection.0:00 – Welcome & Live Format- Introduction to the live‑recorded video cast for members - How to watch future live recordings on Facebook (membership required) 3:15 – Workshop Announcement - Date & Time: Sunday 20 July, 9:30 – ~16:30 - Location: Walsall - Cost: £120 per person, group discounts available - Focus: client‑centred learning, CPD for driving instructors7:00 – Phil's thoughts: “Control the Controllables” 1. The DVSA Waiting‑List Problem - Five‑plus‑month waits, scarcity of cancellations - Common reaction: moaning on Facebook—unhelpful 2. Taking Action for Change - Write to your MP and the DVSA (mobilise your pupils to write, too) - Drip‑feeding pressure at scale can move ministers 3. Working the System Today - Hire a test‑finder or virtual assistant and charge a small management fee - Pre‑book tests early (e.g. on theory‑pass day), then adjust as needed - Build in “re‑assessment” checkpoints two months out 4. Maximizing Learner Hours - Encourage private practice between lessons - Consider mini‑intensives if finances/time allow 5. Pricing & Service Models - Offer “test‑management” as a premium add‑on 25:00 – Diana's “Digs Deeper” Coaching Moments 1. Reframing “Blockers” → “Gap‑Makers”** - Instead of calling oncoming vehicles “blockers,” ask learners what they'd name them - Shift from negative framing (“blockers”) to positive (“gap‑makers”) 2. Perfection vs. Reflection - Encourage “reflection, not perfection” as a mantra for analysis 3. Mini‑Roundabout Design Exercise - Role‑play as the “traffic‑flow engineer” to explore pros/cons of signals vs. roundabouts - Pitch solutions to “road‑safety teams” and “road‑users” to deepen conceptual grasp - Follow up with real‑world practice, then debrief on muscle‑memory vs. theory 38:30 – Learner‑Driven Terminology - **Hazard Traffic‑Light Game:** - **Green hazards:** unlikely to affect your path - **Amber hazards:** may require slowing or manoeuvring - **Red hazards:** will definitely require action (stop, change lane) - Origin: inspired by Hazard Perception Test colour cues 42:00 – Handling Second‑Guessing on Test Day - Is doubt a sign they really “owned” the learning? - Build true understanding, not rote responses - Use controlled “wrong‑way” practice (with safety caveats) to reinforce correct choices - Wean off instructor “micro‑affirmations” (mhm/mhmm) so learners trust their own judgment -

Erin Lee, mother of a Poudre Schools student who was indoctrinated and confused by transgender ideology, comments on Colorado's efforts to defy President Trump's executive order on Orwellian 'gender-affirming care' by providing trans surgeries, hormone supplements, and puberty blockers for children as young as 14.Attorney General Pam Bondi hints at releasing the Jeffrey Epstein client list. What will it reveal?
According to Clinical Psychologist Dr. Lillian Nejad, life blockers are psychological, emotional and practical challenges, beliefs, issues and barriers that stand between us and what we want to do, be, create and change. Some of those blockers exist despite us, some because of us, and some of them only exist in our mind. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A series of anti-trans measures and unscientific definitions of gender are amongst the flurry of executive orders issued by the U.S. president. In addition, Trump signed an executive order intended to bar transgender athletes from girls' and women's sports. Here in Canada, trans people and especially trans youth are facing mounting efforts by conservatives to dismantle the rights and progress they have achieved, and putting them at risk of harm. Travers is a professor of sociology at SFU, and the author of The Trans Generation: How Trans Kids (and Their Parents) Are Creating a Gender Revolution. They speak with Lorraine Chisholm.

Sky News' deputy political editor Sam Coates and Politico's Dan Bloom look at the day ahead in British politics. Today Sir Keir Starmer is on the NIMBY offensive to boost economic growth, with plans to reduce the number of times people can go to the courts to block infrastructure schemes. The government hopes it will mean projects like nuclear power stations, wind farms and railway lines can call get built quicker. But can they do it and will it work? Meanwhile with latest borrowing figures surprisingly high, Rachel Reeves is still under a lot of pressure to meet her fiscal rules. But Sam explains why welfare cuts won't help her at the spring statement. The biggest news of the day though will of course be the sentencing of Axel Rudakubana for the Southport murders. With more details of his horrific crimes to be revealed then, Sam and Dan discuss the continuing political fallout. You can send us a WhatsApp on 07511 867 633 or email us: jackandsam@sky.uk

Unanswered prayers hamper many Christians from having a strong, vibrant faith. Instead of becoming disillusioned, shrugging our shoulders and muttering, “Sometimes God answers prayer and sometimes he doesn't; you never know what God is going to do,” —we should trouble-shoot our prayers to see what is amiss. If we don't see results, it is not because God has failed us. It could be that we have failed him.
