Luke returns to join Matt and Dawn to review four new shows available on various platforms this week. Firstly, Russell T Davies is back with an original drama about modern society called Tip Toe. The series features career-best performances from Alan Cumming and David Morrissey as two men on a dangerous collision course. It's a show with a lot to say about the state of the world today and the dangers of living your life as someone viewed as 'other'. It's such a strong series and the sort of drama Channel 4 should be making, but it does some things that the team often dislikes. Next, a favourite from last year, The Four Seasons, returns for a second season on Netflix. The warm friendship comedy drama, starring Tina Fey, Will Forte and Colman Domingo, follows three sets of couples who holiday together four times a year. Everything we loved about the first season still works and it's just lovely to have a show like this which is warm, engaging, funny and low stakes as this in a television landscape which is still obsessed with thrillers. Next, Australian comic Sam Campbell, who rose to fame through panel show performances and an incredible appearence on Last One Laughing on Prime Video, now has his own comedy series, Make That Movie. The series, which follows Campbell's character, a respected film director and his team as they attempt to make the movie of regular people's ideas. If you are aware of Campbell's comedic style, the series is really surreal and silly, but funny and feels very different to the rest of Channel 4's comedy slate. Lastly, Hacks, a show we've loved since it began, comes to an end. We do a deep dive into the final episode and what made the show work so well. For our Quiz, Luke tests Matt and Dawn to name as many actors as they can from the Russell T Davies shows.

Netflix's charming comedy The Four Seasons follows a group of couples whose friendship dynamic is rocked by their mid-life crises. The impressive cast includes Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Colman Domingo, and Will Forte. And while the jokes may not fly quite as fast as they did on 30 Rock, Fey's comedic sensibilities are written all over it. The Four Seasons just returned for a second season, so we're revisiting our conversation about the series.Subscribe to Pop Culture Happy Hour Plus at plus.npr.org/happyhour See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for sponsorship and to manage your podcast sponsorship preferences.NPR Privacy Policy

After the Avengers: Doomsday CinemaCon major announcement, Greg Alba & Coy Jandreau jump into three more big genre reveals: the new Spider-Noir “Villains” teaser, the long-awaited Coyote vs. Acme trailer, and the first look at Evil Dead Burn. Marvel's CinemaCon presentation debuted a new Doomsday trailer, while Spider-Noir is set to premiere on MGM+ on May 25, 2026 and globally on Prime Video on May 27 with all eight episodes available in both black-and-white and color. Nicolas Cage stars as Ben Reilly / The Spider, with the series also featuring Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston We're also reacting to Coyote vs. Acme, the movie Warner Bros. shelved and Ketchup Entertainment rescued for theaters. Directed by Dave Green, the film stars Will Forte, John Cena, Lana Condor, P.J. Byrne, and Martha Kelly, and follows Wile E. Coyote taking legal action against the Acme Corporation over all those famously defective products. The new trailer finally gives a real look at the movie ahead of its August 28, 2026 theatrical release. And on the horror side, we're checking out Evil Dead Burn, the next Evil Dead movie from director Sébastien Vaniček. The first footage and first-look coverage point to another brutal, bloody entry in the franchise, with the movie currently set for a July 24, 2026 release. So in this podcast episode we break down all the trailer reactions, first impressions, sequel potential, franchise connections, and what these projects could mean for Marvel, Looney Tunes, and the future of Evil Dead. #SpiderNoir #NicolasCage #SpiderMan #Marvel #MarvelReaction #CoyoteVsAcme #WileECoyote #JohnCena #WillForte #LooneyTunes #EvilDeadBurn #EvilDead #HorrorMovies #TrailerReaction #ReelRejects #reaction Follow Greg Alba: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thegregalba/ Twitter: https://x.com/thegregalba Follow Aaron On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/therealaaronalexander/?hl=en Follow Coy Jandreau: Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@coyjandreau?l... Of Course You Realize THIS Means Podcast - A Looney Tunes Discussion
WE'RE SO BACK! Looney Tunes hasn't always had the best track record, but for once, things are looking up! Just don't look down. Wile E. Coyote is set to headline his feature length film alongside Will Forte, Lana Condor and John Cene and thanks to Ketchup Ent. it has been rescued from the WB archive! A year ago, WB set the film for a Tax Write-Off and washed their hands of it unless someone were to come along and purchase it from them for a large amount of money! We can thankfully report that Ketchup Ent. did just that and the film has an August 28th, 2026 release date! Listen in as we express our joy of that initial news, celebrate the legacy of Val Kilmer (who is ironically back in the news due to Ai) and talk about The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie which is streaming on Max and available on Amazon! Follow the show: @ThisMeansPodcast Follow Our Guest: Dan Sendker and buy his book, Dance of the Comedians! 75 Years of Coyote and Road Runner!
0:00 - To be the man, you gotta beat the man. Wemby can't beat the man. We've known it all season long, but Saturday's performance solidified it for us. Jokic is the NBA MVP. It's not Luka. It's not Wemby. It's not Floppy Foul-Bait McGee. It's Nikola Jokic. But, realistically, do we care? Is it worth investing any energy in the MVP conversation?15:21 - He teased it! He told you it was coming up after the break! Everybody strap in! It's time for Moser's Masters Update. After that, the Avs have all but won the Central. Their victory over Dallas on Saturday was the final piece of the puzzle (technically, they haven't locked it up but come on...they locked it up). Assuming the Avs are the 1 seed, who would their first round opponent be? What are some possible scenarios?32:04 - Oh, by the way...the Final Four TV broadcast was a carvinal. Why did we have Will Forte doing a goofy bit and the Chainsmokers performing during the friggin Final Four? Oh, by the way...a baby was born this weekend during an Oilers game. At the arena. Yes, a woman actually brought a child into this world inside the Edmonton Oilers arena. Oh, by the way...Bucci argued that Zach Werenski should win the Norris Trophy...because of how he played in the Olympics??

Season 4 is officially underway, and we're kicking things off with COMEDIES—starting with the gloriously unhinged cult classic MacGruber. In this episode, we dive headfirst into the over-the-top action parody that somehow turns explosions, celery, and bad decisions into comedy gold. We talk Will Forte's fearless commitment, the movie's absurd humor, why it bombed before becoming a fan favorite, and how MacGruber sets the tone for a season dedicated to laughs. We also zoom out and talk about comedies today—how the genre has changed, what's missing, what's working… and ask the big question: are comedies dead? Or just evolving? If you love dumb humor done brilliantly—or just really hate Cunth—this one's for you.Got thoughts, favorite quotes, or comedy picks you want us to cover this season? Happy New Year! We're bringing back one of our favorite episodes from the recent past, this conversation with June Squibb, which originally aired in June of 2024. Since then, in 2025, June had the title role in Eleanor the Great, Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut, which premiered at Cannes.June Squibb was born an actor, and had a rich career on stage for years before becoming an on-screen performer in her sixties. It's not your typical trajectory, sure, but then neither is being 94 and carrying your first feature film – which, by the way, is an action comedy. With her new movie THELMA new in theaters this weekend, the singular June Squibb joins us to talk about how the role of Kate in Andrew Payne's NEBRASKA – for which she won an Oscar – reflected her life and shaped her career. Then, Jordan has one quick thing about the 2020s updates to her Vulture ‘Best Queer Horror Movies' List.***With Jordan Crucchiola and June Squibb Feeling Seen is hosted by Jordan Crucchiola and is a production Maximum Fun.Need more Feeling Seen? That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Nick digs into one of the most reliably funny corners of Saturday Night Live with a look at ESPN commentators Pete Twinkle and Greg Stink, the brilliantly odd duo played by Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte. Their mock coverage of women's sporting events from the 80s and 90s gave the show some of its sharpest absurdity, especially once the two started weaving in wildly inappropriate sponsor plugs for every imaginable personal product. The sketches came from the minds of Forte, John Lutz, and John Solomon, and Nick revisits several of them with guest appearances from Sigourney Weaver, Blake Lively, Will Ferrell, and a delightfully unhinged Tom Hanks. Along with the full scenes, he shares some behind the curtain stories that shed light on how these characters took shape and why they remain fan favorites. Pete Twinkle and Greg Stink get the celebration they deserve, and the laughs still land perfectly. [Ep 154]

It's just Kevin and Lauren this week and, despite Andrew being a big fibber and not showing up, they manage a solid episode. They talk about Alice in Borderland, Monster: The Ed Gein Story, The Four Seasons, Peacemaker Season 2, and The Queen of Versailles. Much like you, we thought that a week off would give Andrew time to come back to us, but oh no… So Lauren is left to kick off the show to talk about the latest season of Alice in Borderland. In a way, it's more of the same, but that's not necessarily a good thing, based on how the previous season ended. There are some fun games, but this feels like a cash grab by Netflix, which leaves a bad taste in Lauren's mouth. Speaking of things on Netflix that aren't delicious… Kevin watched Monster: The Ed Gein Story, so you don't have to. If you don't know, Ed Gein is the inspiration for characters like Norman Bates, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Hannibal Lecter. Unfortunately, this telling of his story is so over the top and over-sensationalized, that it's just really hard to watch. And not in the fun, “this horror movie is so scary” kind of way. Funny enough, Charlie Hunnam does do a great job of becoming this character. The overall presentation is just lacking. Because they apparently only have Netflix to watch this week, Lauren discusses the new show The Four Seasons. It has a start studded cast, including Will Forte, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Colman Domingo. It's a show about these 4 characters and their significant others and the way their relationship all ebb and flow over the course of 4 separate seasons. It's touching at times, and funny at times, and all in all, Lauren enjoyed it enough to be interested in the upcoming season 2. Finally, escaping the prison that is Netflix, Kevin hops over to HBO to discuss the second (and final?) season of Peacemaker. It's a monumental growth season for Peacemaker, as he has some immense issues to deal with. Where this show shines this season is when we get to see all of the trials and tribulations and just how broken he is through it all. And then the way the season ends for him is just wild. And there are some incredible things set up for the future of the DCU going forward, so if you aren't aware, listen to this bit, as Kevin breaks some of them down. Lauren closes out the show by outclassing Kevin and heading over to Broadway. She managed to get tickets to the preview of The Queen of Versailles, starring Kristin Chenoweth. The book is by the creator of Wicked and with Chenoweth in tow, that sounds like a masterpiece waiting to happen, right? Well, maybe not… Lauren breaks down some of the issues with the show and her surprise at how underwhelmed she was. It still has time to level out, though, and it could become something special still. As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. Enjoy the episode and have a great week! Will Forte is one of the only comedians to ever turn down an initial offer from Lorne Michaels to join ‘Saturday Night Live.' But after three years in the cast, he found himself at a crossroads on the show. In his return to the podcast, Forte discusses the second lease on life that Michaels gave him after coming closer than anyone knew to cutting him loose. The star of two Netflix series this year—‘Haunted Hotel' and ‘The Four Seasons'—also talks about his love of animation and playing the husband of his former ‘SNL' boss Tina Fey. And Forte shares updates on the unlikely fate of his canceled and then resurrected ‘Coyote vs. Acme' movie, reveals the potential for a ‘MacGruber' sequel, and shares behind-the-scenes stories from his wild night at the ‘SNL50' anniversary special.Follow Will Forte on Instagram @orviv Follow Matt Wilstein on Bluesky @mattwilstein Follow The Last Laugh on Instagram @lastlaughpodWatch full episodes of The Last Laugh podcast on the Daily Beast's YouTube channelHighlights from this episode and others at TheDailyBeast.com Hosted on Acast. MPK (or whoever's writing these darn things) seems to have finally gotten their rhythm and discovered the secret to good storytelling; Sideline Carrie Bradshaw. The complex family Aiden situation takes centerstage, as does Bob, a character who undoubtedly should've been played by Will Forte. Miranda and Joy continue their charged romantic relationship laid atop a confusing work relationship that Tim still cannot get his head around. Lisa Todd Wexley, in a highly relatable turn, has accidentally hired a hot male editor but REFUSES to have a sex dream about him, much to the disappointment of your podcast hosts. The MCU is once again in the spotlight as major Avengers: The Kang Dynasty leaks have surfaced online—and we're diving into everything we've learned. On today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, we break down the original plan for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, its evolution into Avengers: Doomsday, and what it all means for Marvel Phase 5, Secret Wars, and the future of the Multiverse Saga. Marvel Studios seems to have scrapped Kang as the main villain in favor of Doctor Doom—and for good reason. After Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania flopped and Jonathan Majors' legal issues became a major concern, insiders say the studio lost faith in the Council of Kangs storyline. Now, with Stephen McFeely rewriting both Avengers 5 and Secret Wars, and the Russo Brothers returning to direct, the entire direction has shifted. We're breaking down the leaked Kang Dynasty script that includes wild reveals like a Moon Knight team-up, Miles Morales' MCU debut, a Deadpool 3 crossover, and even a Spider-Man: No Way Home reunion. Plus, what role was Doctor Doom supposed to play before becoming the central threat in Avengers: Doomsday? And how does this affect the lead-in to Avengers: Secret Wars?
