As Director Matt Wolf shows in his insightful and fun 2-part HBO series “Pee-wee as Himself”, in Pee-wee, Paul Rubens found a persona that allowed him to both reveal and yet hide some core truths about who he was. Fascinated with television and show business since he was a boy, Rubens combined elements of his childhood's pop culture with the art world of Southern California in the 70s and early 80s to craft a character that would both conquer the then punkish milieu of Melrose Avenue as well as create a nationally televised children's TV show. To achieve this, Wolfe delineates how Rubens deliberately foreclosed both his potential love life as well as cast aside long-held friendships. Wolfe's series demonstrates both the costs as well as the benefits of outsized talent and ambition. You can watch “Pee-wee as Himself” on HBO and HBO Max starting Friday, May 23rd. In this episode, we are thrilled to welcome Susie Coelho, a best-selling author, television personality, lifestyle expert, and entrepreneur, who is currently the founder and CEO of Susie Coelho Enterprises. Susie's journey, marked by her incredible drive and resilience, showcases her ability to reinvent herself and succeed in diverse fields. Susie emphasizes that hard work and necessity are critical drivers of success. She never borrowed money from anyone, relying solely on her ability to generate income and create opportunities. This mindset, instilled by her immigrant background, underscores the importance of working diligently to make one's mark and achieve financial independence. Susie's journey is a testament to her adaptability. She transitioned from being a model to an actress, and then to opening a store on Melrose Avenue after a divorce created the need for money to pay the mortgage. Susie shared the details of reinventing herself after taking time to raise her son. She conducted a “listening tour” with friends to identify her strengths and passions, which led her to establish a personal brand, combining elements of Oprah's inspiration and Martha Stewart's style. Susie successfully built a lifestyle brand and company that gained widespread recognition. Susie demonstrates the power of courage and persistence, and her ability to sense the right timing has often led to her success. As she moves forward with her next venture, she firmly believes that "the best is yet to come," – both for herself, and as a central message she will be sharing with others - inspiring others to strive towards their future goals. Her new phase is deeply aligned to what we found in research we did for our Catalyst Leadership Trust, that Catalysts never really retire, they move into their ‘third 3rd' of their career focusing on projects that fill their souls. Hollywood consolideert! Dennis is joined via Zoom by Kevin Daniels and Logan Arditty, who co-star in the play Monsters of the American Cinema, which is produced by the Rogue Machine theater company and showing at the Matrix Theatre in Hollywood through May 19th. Dennis caught the play and was struck at the connection between the intergenerational pair who are the only actors in the cast. Here's the play's synopsis: "When his husband dies, Remy Washington (Daniels), a Black man, finds himself both the owner of a drive-in movie theater and a caregiver to his late husband's straight, white teenage son, Pup (Arditty). Their relationship fractures when Remy discovers Pup and his friends have been bullying a gay teen at his school." In the interview, Kevin and Logan talk about what drew them to the piece, the special bond they've developed on stage and off, how they memorized all those lines and the thrill they get when they can hear audience members cry and occasionally scream. Other topics include: the moments they they wanted to act, managing the ups and downs of a creative career, their favorite scary movies (Friday the 13th, Sleepaway Camp), Kevin's stint playing Magic Johnson in the Broadway play Magic/Bird and his new film Not Another Church Movie, Logan's upcoming films Trust In Love and Stay Out, the magic of live theater and how cool it is to be on a billboard on Melrose Avenue with your very first play. www.roguemachinetheatre.org
InVision was once a prominent player in the design software space. But the company that was once valued at $2 billion announced it will be discontinuing its design-collaboration services by the end of this year. The cofounders, Clark Valberg and Ben Nadel, originally designed the software as a prototyping tool for designers but it quickly gained popularity and ultimately achieved unicorn status after raising $100 million in 2017. This was followed by another milestone when it raised $115 million, which effectively doubled its valuation. So, what happened? How did this unicorn unravel? ‘Fast Company' contributing writer Nicole Gull McElroy joined us to explain and discuss. Then we chatted with legendary English fashion designer Paul Smith who has been working in the industry for more than 50 years. Aside from the clothes, he's also heavily involved in designing the look of his stores around the world. His iconic store on L.A'.s Melrose Avenue has a bright pink wall that's been around since the early 2000s. But since the 2010s, that wall has become an Instagram hot spot with people lining up to take photos against the hot pink backdrop. Smith explained to us how the wall—which costs about $66,000 a year to maintain—has changed brand awareness, and spoke about his long career as designer-of-choice for such stars as Daniel Day-Lewis, David Bowie, and Jony Ive.

It has been 17 years since James Fuentes first hung a shingle out under his own name. In the years since, he has carved out a unique position in the contemporary art world, representing an eclectic mix of older, sometimes overlooked artists, alongside younger, buzzier names. Prior to striking out on his own, Fuentes worked for a handful of high-profile gallerists, including Jeffrey Deitch, whose eye he first caught with an ambitious pitch for a reality television show about artists, an idea that was way ahead of its time, considering it was the early aughts. Fuentes has long been a mainstay of the Lower East Side, which happens to be the same area where he grew up. Between his first smaller gallery on the appropriately named St James Place, and later at a larger location on Delancey Street, he has watched neighborhood undergo seismic shifts. Amid all of the changes, he still regards the Lower East Side as a thriving and incredibly diverse place to live and work. Last year, Fuentes joined the ranks of East Coast dealers heading out West to open a gallery in the burgeoning art scene of Los Angeles. Just as he is set to mark the one year anniversary on Melrose Avenue, another major change is underway: a big move across town in Manhattan to the new gallery hub of Tribeca, into a 3,000-square-foot, ground-floor space on White Street. This week on the podcast, senior reporter Eileen Kinsella caught up with Fuentes to talk about growing up in New York City during the heyday of hip hop and graffiti art, and his unique approach to the art business, alongside the broader growth and changes in the art world at large.

Hello and welcome to a special bonus episode of YXE Underground. I'm your host, Eric Anderson. Happy New Year to all of you and I hope you had a wonderful holiday season.I am really excited to begin 2024 with a bonus episode featuring a really kind and passionate person in our community. Her name is Lecina Hicke and she is the CEO of the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation. The reason I reached out to Lecina is I wanted to do an episode focusing on the Hospice at Glengarda. As you will hear in our conversation, Lecina has a very strong connection to the Hospice and worked extremely hard for years to ensure its construction and its mission of providing compassionate and meaningful End-of-Life care would be successful. The Hospice at Glengarda is a 15-bed Hospice located on Hilliard Street East and Melrose Avenue in Saskatoon's Exhibition neighbourhood. My wife and I used to live on Ash Street and would walk by the construction three times day because our dog Fred loved his walks, and it was really something to see this beautiful building going up in a quiet, old neighbourhood in the city. The Hospice is governed by Emmanual Health, owned by St. Paul's Hospital and was Saskatchewan's first stand-alone hospice.I feel very lucky to have spent an afternoon with Lecina in her office at St. Paul's Hospital learning about the work that went into fundraising for the Hospice, why educating the general public was so important, and the impact a gentleman named Gord Engel had on her and the Close to Home fundraising campaign. Now, the plan is to do an episode where we take you inside the Hospice at Glengarda and speak with staff about the work they are doing. We are just working on finding a time that works for everyone. Hopefully that episode will come out in the next few weeks, but I really think knowing the background behind the creation will of the Hospice will make you appreciate the work it is doing for patients and families in Saskatoon even more.Thank you so much for listening to this bonus episode and don't forget to share it and leave a 5-star review if you like what you hear!Cheers...Eric Host, Producer, Editor: Eric AndersonTheme Music: Andrew DicksonWebsite: https://www.yxeunderground.com
This is Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for September 13, 2023.According to the National Weather Service there may be some patchy fog before 8 a.m. on Wednesday in the Cedar Rapids area, but besides that it will be sunny with a high near 72 degrees.A dead man who was found last week on the University of Iowa campus has been identified as Gabriel Moliter, 44, of Iowa City, according to university police.Emergency responders were called to the north patio of the Stanley Hydraulic Laboratory, on Riverside Drive, at 7:15 a.m. Sept. six on a report of an unconscious and possibly deceased male, according to UI police. When they arrived, responders confirmed the death.Based on a preliminary investigation and help from the Johnson County Medical Examiner, officials don't believe foul play was involved in the death, a news release states. The release does not say what Moliter's cause of death was.Moliter was not a student or employee at the university, authorities said last week.A magistrate concluded Tuesday, following last month's non jury trial, that a North Liberty teen driving a sport utility vehicle on May 22 failed to yield to a jogger who he struck in a marked crosswalk on Melrose Avenue and Kennedy Parkway in Iowa City.Sixth Judicial District Magistrate Mark Neary ruled Jonathan J.F. McCaffery, 16, at the time, “did not comply with the common law requirements under the circumstances.” McCaffery approached the pedestrian crosswalk at a little over the speed limit, according to what McCaffery told a police officer. At the scene, McCaffery said he was driving at “full speed.”McCaffery is the son of University of Iowa head basketball coach Fran McCaffery.Neary, in the ruling, said there is no evidence, according to police, that the teen was speeding, driving in a reckless manner, that he was distracted while driving or using his cellphone, or that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.Three witnesses said McCaffery didn't slow down until the vehicle hit Corey Hite, 45, of Cedar Rapids. Witnesses also testified that another motorist had waved Hite into the intersection before McCaffery's vehicle arrived.Hite, an Iowa National Guard soldier, later died from his injuries.Under Iowa law, there is an enhancement for this misdemeanor when it results in a death, which includes a $1,000 fine, a driver's license suspension of up to 180 days or both, according to police. The NCAA has denied Iowa defensive lineman Noah Shannon's appeal of his yearlong suspension for sports wagering, Coach Kirk Ferentz said Tuesday. The failed appeal essentially marks the end of college football for Shannon, a sixth-year senior and two-year starter on the defensive line.Ferentz previously said Shannon placed a bet on a different University of Iowa sports team. The NCAA's updated sports gambling guidelines suggest an athlete who does so “will potentially face permanent loss of collegiate eligibility in all sports.”“I don't agree with or understand, quite frankly, the decision, especially when it comes to the severity of the punishment,” Ferentz said Tuesday. “The panel that heard the appeal had an opportunity to really do something, make a decision that to me would...

It will be clear Wednesday evening with a low of around 49 degrees.Witnesses testified Tuesday they saw a North Liberty teen driving a sport utility vehicle hit a jogger — “flipping him up in the air,” one said — as the jogger ran across a marked crosswalk on Melrose Avenue and Kennedy Parkway in Iowa City.Three witnesses said the SUV, driven by Jonathan J.F. McCaffery, 16 at the time, didn't slow down May 22 until the vehicle hit the jogger, Cory Hite, 45, of Cedar Rapids, in the crosswalk. There is no stop sign or signal at the crosswalk, but there is a sign warning drivers in advance of the walkway.Police officers who testified Tuesday said they determined that McCaffery could not have stopped in time to avoid the collision with Hite.Sixth Judicial District Magistrate Mark Neary heard testimony during a bench — or non jury — trial Tuesday and will file his written ruling later. McCaffery didn't attend the hearing. He waived his personal appearance, which was granted by the judge, as long as he stipulated he was the driver in the fatal crash.Of the 131 dogs removed Thursday, nine have died, officials said Tuesday.Eight dogs died from health issues, including heat stroke and canine parvovirus. The other was “euthanized because of temperament issues related to ongoing pain and the neglect endured prior to being in our care,” according to Lee Hermiston, the public safety information officer for Iowa City. The dogs were surrendered to Iowa City Animal Services after an inspection of the puppy farm, 3027 540th St. SW, near Riverside, by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Inspectors found the dogs on the property were being kept in hot, dirty conditions, and many of the dogs were in a “state of distress.”Some of the dogs taken from the farm are being kept at the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, and others are being housed at other locations in Iowa City. Animal services was able to borrow several dog pens from Cedar County, and other supplies were donated by community members after news about the dogs was reported. The Bissell Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports animal welfare, is taking 60 of the dogs to an adoption agency in Michigan on Wednesday, and 30 of the dogs will go to other adoption agenciesThe Iowa City Public Library was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after receiving a bomb threat, according to a Facebook post from the library. The threat was received around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Iowa City Police Department responded and the library was evacuated out of an abundance of caution, according to the police department. The library stayed closed for the rest of the day Tuesday.“We understand that this situation may cause concern and inconvenience to our patrons. Please know that we are doing everything we can to address the situation as quickly and safely as possible,” the Facebook post stated. The library is scheduled to be open Wednesday with regular hours, according to the post.

This is Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for Wednesday, July 19.It will be mostly sunny Wednesday with a high near 89 degrees. According to the National Weather Service it will become partly cloudy as the day goes on, with a low of around 66 degrees.Former President Donald Trump made light of his mounting legal troubles and continued his relentless, unproven claims that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and stolen during a visit to Cedar Rapids Tuesday.“I didn't know practically what a subpoena was and grand juries and all of this,” Trump said Tuesday evening during a stop at the monthly meeting of the Linn County Republican Party after taping a town hall with Fox News' Sean Hannity at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in downtown Cedar Rapids.“Now, I'm like becoming an expert. I have no choice. It's a disgrace,” Trump told about 170 people squeezed into the Elks Lodge on the city's southwest side. “If you say something about an election, they want to put you in jail for the rest of your life. It's a disgrace.”Trump said Tuesday in a post on his Truth Social platform that he has received a letter informing him that he is a target of the Justice Department's investigation into efforts to undo the results of the 2020 presidential election, an indication that he could soon be indicted by federal prosecutors.Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds unveiled a new logo and marketing plan Tuesday as part of an attempt to draw people to live in Iowa. The governor also said the executive branch of state government is now operating under its newly restructured and streamlined form, which she signed into law in April.Reynolds offered the updates during a news conference Tuesday at the Iowa Capitol. The marketing plan includes a new state logo, which Reynolds said will be used to market Iowa to attract new businesses and residents, will be used by state agencies and will be displayed on welcome signs across Iowa on the two interstates that run through the state and on other roadways. The logo features a landscape scene and the tagline, “Freedom to flourish.”The new slogan will replace “Fields of opportunities.”“Iowa's national profile is on the rise, our reputation is strong, and Americans have taken notice,” Reynolds said, while saying that Iowa's net migration recently increased for the first time in “a generation.”Reynolds also told reporters that she will direct the state to appeal that ruling that currently is blocking the recently passed fetal heartbeat bill. She said she believes the bill is constitutional and, despite the Iowa Supreme Court recently ruling against a very similar bill, that the out outcome will be different this time.Jack McCaffery entered a not guilty plea Monday for a traffic violation in a May 22 crash that resulted in the death of an Iowa National Guard soldier. McCaffery will have a trial in August. He is the son of the University of Iowa men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery.McCaffery was cited last week for a traffic violation stemming from a crash at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Kennedy Parkway in Iowa City on May 22. Investigators say he was driving the vehicle that struck Corey Hite, 45, of Cedar Rapids, who was out for a jog.A statement released by McCaffery's parents through a lawyer said that the accident happened when another motorist waved Hite into the path of McCaffery's vehicle as he was...
This is Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for Thursday, July 13.According to the National Weather Service patchy fog before 8 a.m. will give way to a sunny day in the Cedar Rapids area. The high will settle in at 86 degrees. On Thursday night it will be partly cloudy, with a low of around 67 degrees.A North Liberty teenager was cited Monday for a traffic violation in a crash at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Kennedy Parkway in Iowa City, which resulted in the death of an Iowa National Guard soldier who was out for a jog on May 22.Iowa City Police identified Jonathan J.F. McCaffery, 16, of North Liberty, as the driver of a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe that struck Corey Hite, 45, of Cedar Rapids at 4:16 p.m. on May 22. McCaffery, who goes by the name Jack, is the son of the University of Iowa men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery.Following a “thorough investigation, and after consultation with the Johnson County Attorney's Office,” the teen was cited Monday with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, a simple misdemeanor.Under Iowa law, there is an enhancement for this misdemeanor when it results in a death, which includes a $1,000 fine, a driver's license suspension of up to 180 days, or both, police said.Johnson County Attorney Rachel Zimmermann Smith said this is a pending case and she couldn't talk about the facts of the case.In a statement distributed Wednesday by an Iowa City law firm, Fran and Margaret McCaffery — Jonathan McCaffery's parents — called the crash, which happened just after their son left school, a “tragedy” that has “devastated” their family.“Investigators have told us that it was an unavoidable accident with no evidence to suggest distracted driving,” the McCafferys' statement says. “The pedestrian, who was jogging at the time of the accident, was waved in front of our son's passing vehicle by the driver of another vehicle.”The McCafferys' statement says they refrained from releasing a statement before this week out of respect for the Hite family and “to allow the Iowa City Police Department to conclude its investigation.”New restrictions on abortion in Iowa will not be signed into law until Friday, but challengers are not waiting. The Republican-led Iowa Legislature during a special session passed a new version of a bill late Tuesday that bans abortions once cardiac activity can be detected, usually around six weeks of pregnancy.Republican Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said she will sign the bill into law at a political event hosted Friday by the Christian conservative group The Family Leader. She is scheduled to deliver remarks and sign the bill at 2:15 p.m. Friday.Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, the Emma Goldman Clinic and the ACLU of Iowa announced Wednesday they already challenged the pending new law in district court. A hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday in Polk County District Court on their petition to temporarily block the law from taking effect. The legislation would go into effect upon Reynolds' signature unless the court grants a temporary injunction that would prevent enforcement of the law.

This Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for Tuesday, June 6.There will be a chance for rain Tuesday, but it will again be a low chance. According to the National Weather Service there will be a 20 percent of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. in the Cedar Rapids area, growing slightly more likely Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Besides that it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees. On Tuesday night there will be mostly cloudy skies and a low of around 61 degrees. A Cedar Rapids teen who killed his parents with two knives and an ax on Oct. 14, 2021, will have to serve a mandatory minimum of 50 years of a life sentence before being eligible for parole.Ethan Orton, who attacked his mother, Misty Scott-Slade, 41, after she fell asleep in a chair and his father, Casey Arthur Orton, 42, who was asleep on a sofa, told a psychologist they emotionally and verbally abused him all his life. And when his mother sent him an email the day before, saying he had to move out when he turned 18 — in five months — it pushed him to attack.Sixth Judicial District Judge Ian Thornhill considered the factors for a youthful offender facing a life sentence to determine the appropriate sentence. The Iowa Supreme Court banned life sentences without a chance for parole for juveniles in 2016, following the U.S. Supreme Court's same decision in 2012.Thornhill sentenced Orton to two life sentences but ran them concurrently, and found a mandatory 50-year minimum isn't equal to a life sentence because he would be eligible for parole at 67, which is retirement age for many people. An Iowa National Guard soldier who was three weeks away from retirement from the Guard has died after being struck by a vehicle May 22 in Iowa City. The Iowa City Police Department confirmed Monday that Corey J. Hite, 45, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday morning nearly two weeks after the crash. The department had not previously identified the pedestrian hit in the crash, which happened just after 4 p.m. that day at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Kennedy Parkway. The police department also hasn't released information about the driver of the vehicle that struck the soldier, or whether any charges related to the crash are being contemplated. The Gazette requested a recording of the 911 call related to the crash, but the request was denied because police said the crash remained under investigation.Hite was out for a jog when he was hit. He had spent the last couple of weeks in the hospital with serious injuries, including a pelvis fracture, multiple skull fractures, holes in his lung and kidney and brain swelling, according to a GoFundMe page started on behalf of the family. The fundraising page had raised over $4,600 by Monday afternoon.According to reporting from the Associated Press, the remains of all three men caught inside the Davenport apartment building that partially collapsed last week have been recovered, the city's police chief said Monday, as survivors began filing lawsuits asserting that negligence led to the structural failure. The police chief said Branden Colvin Sr., 42, was recovered Saturday. Ryan Hitchcock, 51, was recovered Sunday and Daniel Prien, 60, was recovered early Monday. He did not say if they died immediately after the May 28 collapse, but autopsies will be performed on all three.

With “Fast X,” the newest entry in the “Fast & Furious” saga, hitting theaters Friday, officials are warning the public of the dangers of street racing. On Thursday, representatives from the California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were among those who stressed the hazards of unsafe driving at a press conference on Melrose Avenue in Beverly Grove. Tracy Newman came to comedy writing by being a founder of a Los Angeles improvisational organization called The Groundlings. It was located on the famous Melrose Avenue, and it was during the heyday in the 1960's for these kind of entertainment venues. The Groundlings, which still operates today, became a training ground where aspiring actors could learn how to create jokes and how to respond to a live audience when creating comedy. Many members of the group went on to have stellar careers like Tracy and her younger Sister, Lorraine, who became part of Saturday Night Live. Incredibly, Tracy's television career as a sitcom Writer began on the CHEERS program at the time when it was, and still is, one of the most popular programs for T. V. ever created. From there she continued joining with her partner John Stark, what is called the Writers' Rooms, with many of the most famous television sitcoms such as the Drew Carey Show and The Nanny. She won an Emmy with other Writers, the highest award in Television in the U. S., for the script for the ELLEN Show where Ellen announced to the world that she was a Lesbian. At the time, that was a risky and radical career decision for a popular entertainer. In this episode, Tracy takes us into the world of the typical Writers' Room of a sitcom comedy, a place she left years ago to return to songwriting and singing. She gives us an insight into the history of how television comedy was made and evolved. To hear her music, see her videos and purchase CDs, go to the website, www.tracynewman.com
Today I'm in conversation with an old friend, King of Vintage Couture Cameron Silver, the founder and owner of https://decadesinc.com (Decades), a top vintage couture boutique in West Hollywood, California. Born and raised in Beverly Hills, Cameron has great flair, and seems to know everyone who's anyone. As he writes in https://www.amazon.com/Decades-Century-Fashion-Cameron-Silver/dp/159691663X (Decades: A Century in Fashion), his gorgeous coffee table book published in 2012 by Bloomsbury, he embarked “on a career as a purveyor of only the finest pre-worn clothing.” In 1997, he opened Decades in a 1926 Art Deco building on Melrose Avenue. “I had no experience managing a business, and no real education in fashion, other than as a consumer,” Cameron wrote in his book. “But I knew that I wanted to introduce a new world of customers to vintage. Before purchasing any single piece, I would always ask myself, ‘Is it modern?'” If you go in his store, or take a look on his e-tailing site DecadesInc.com, you'll see the answer is always yes. I'm thrilled to have him on the program today. So as we've learned more about Zed Run breeding 2.0, it seems like not only is base ability and distance preference passed down, but variance most definitely is too. I've seen this firsthand with a new breed I just did Melrose Avenue. Definitely was able to get her mother's high variance to go with her father's distance preference. That goes a long way towards helping improve the line a little. Now going forward it doesn't appear breeding lotto tickets will really hit like they used to. I could definitely see them tweaking the variance in new horses going forward for a breeding 3.0 update, though. I get they don't want variance luck to be the only way to build a stable but there needs to be a balance with skill and some luck sprinkled in. Perhaps the biggest nugget to drop was it seems progression is on the way. Horses will essentially have their power score and a potential score and it will take the best horse management to get the most out of it. This is a great development and gives me hope that a Zed Run version of Seabiscuit is out there. A perceived donkey that can thrive in the right hands. Can't wait to see how this works out going forward. This could lead to an entirely new strategy for both breeding and racing. Six horse races are now being experimented with a week after the screenshot was shared showing head-to-head racing. This is, hopefully, all leading to customizable private races where smaller communities can compete among each other without fear of getting killed by the bigger stables. If small stables only exist to kick up cash to the bigger ones the game is in trouble. In a perfect world, though, this is all laying the groundwork for that type of expansion. Becca from Zed Run is doing some class system user feedback sessions so I'm guessing the changes there are coming soon. The game still has Its kinks to work out but, at end of the day, it's still in beta testing and will take some work in the short term to achieve its full potential. I'm working on a breeding spreadsheet that appears to be really helping me. Once I get it fully dialed in the template will be available right here for you to download and use yourselves. LAPD said in a tweet that there is an ongoing crime trend of follow-home robberies, with suspects finding their victims in popular areas such as Melrose Avenue and the Jewelry District, as well as nightclubs and high-end restaurants in Los Angeles, then following them and committing the robberies as the victim arrives home or at their business. ⭕️Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

Up this week… another slice of LA with none other than a national treasure, superstar chef, author & queen of the American artisanal loaf - Nancy Silverton. Famed for her sourdough starter, Nancy talks to us about her rise to the top, growing up in the valley, her obsession with pistachios & loving TV dinners at her grandmas. We recorded this episode from Nancy's famous ‘Osteria Mozza' restaurant on Melrose Avenue and were lucky enough to taste her famous chopped salad and also had a first in eating shrimp on a pizza. Full of food and elegance.. enjoy! XNancy's London restaurant is Pizzeria Mozza at Treehouse London See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Do you have a sweet tooth and love desserts? Then this episode is for you! Better Than Sex is an all desserts restaurant located on the Melrose Corridor many consider to be West Hollywood (although the official zip code is designated Los Angeles). Little did we know this West Coast only location of Better Than Sex is situated in what is known as "Cavity Corner" with close neighbors Winchell's Donuts & Milk Bar. Patricia Catallo and her husband Alan fell in love with everything about this exclusively dessert restaurant concept on a trip to Key West from Miami. They brought the concept out West after saying 'YES" to a franchising opportunity and were approved for a prime spot on Melrose Avenue. The menu will make most blush with tongue and cheek named desserts like the "Peanut Butter Perversion", the "Kinky Key Lime Pie", and the "Pop My Cherry" one year anniversary special on the menu through May 9th. We are excited to announce the We Know WeHo podcast, is now entering our third season and changes are afoot as Tracy bids farewell to co-host Mikey Consbruck as he has moved back home to Nebraska to fulfill his life's journey. Strangers visiting were a different breed, an assault on our sensibilities. The people were real. It was candy, floss, toffee apples, and diesel. No internet, so no real connections/Lol had the library books and records, to develop a sense of discovery. Make a band and travel the world. Minor eccentrics would visit the workshop of humanity. A selection of institutional people that we interacted with. Mass murders at the fair? Extraordinary experiences then to the local pub. Lol had his ear pierced at sixteen, a rite of passage, bottles of cider in the park or on the couch. Budgie liked the waltzer. And the green caterpillar. Childhood images. Lol loved the ghost train too, banging doors.Tales of the unknown. Peepshow Budgie recording the secret carousel, thrills of the unknownMonsters under the bed and the hot water heater - Yikes! This weeks incredibly blessed and gifted guest is an artist, film and content producer, influential Internet personality, husband, and, of course, father. Taking a moment of silence to sit in awe of the fact that he's a father of, not 1, 2, 4, or even 5, but 6 beautiful children, this amazing dad is a role model of what it looks like to love his kids and honor his partner. Los Angeles based, this man has driven fans to Melrose Avenue, NBCUniversal, and other high-traffic locations throughout America with his large-scale street art. Using his social media presence and natural knack for quality content, he has produced viral content for today's top influencers to market brands and drive sales. His works and talent have also led to several television appearances, including (no big deal), Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, The Steve Harvey Show and Will Smith's Dads Just Don't Understand. Doing all this while raising 6 kids under 7 (and the youngest born just this month) we're honored to have this king on the show, her best dad ever, Hashim Lafond.
Known in the press as the Muswell Hill Murderer, Scottish-born serial killer Dennis Nilsen tormented young men and boys who lived in the North London area from 1978 to 1983. Nilsen is believed to have murdered at least 12 people, although he confessed to having closer to 15 or 16 victims, many of whom may have been homeless or otherwise vulnerable, according to The Sun. His killing spree began in late 1978, while he was living at 195 Melrose Avenue in North London. Nilsen would often pick up his victims in pubs. He would convince them to come back with him to his home, where he would strangle them, and eventually burn or bury their bodies in the back garden... Dennis Nilsen was sentenced to life imprisonment on six counts of murder and two charges of attempted murder. He remained imprisoned at Full Sutton maximum security prison until his death in 2018.
