today we are going to chat about female friendships, and why it is so darn hard to make them, especially like-minded friendships. in our era of social media and overall digital connections with others, you would think that it should be easier than ever to make friends. I mean…come ON! I constantly see the cutest friendship activities and reels on Instagram, and those amazing photos of smiling girl sleepovers on Pinterest. yeah…not me. I always struggled making good female friendships, and throughout middle school to college, churches, gyms, the corporate world, and everywhere else, I made friends, drifted from friends, and struggled to find someone that has the same interests as me. I also had to handle the overall DRAMA of female friendships. the backstabbing, the gossip, the lies, and the jealousy. if you struggle or struggled making friends throughout your teenage or twenties, you are NOT ALONE. I chat all about my past experiences, and give tips along the way for finally finding those amazing female friendships you tend to only see in movies or social media.
Today, we dive into the reasons why some women may struggle to have female friends. From discussing why some women choose to be friends with guys to exploring the challenges in maintaining relationships among women, we shed light on the complexities of female friendships. We also emphasize the importance of quality over quantity when it comes to friendships, stressing that having a few close female friends who genuinely support and understand you can be more fulfilling than having a large group of acquaintances. Join us as we discuss this fascinating story of perseverance and the Quakers' important role in the history of religious freedom.Naomi Pullin is an Associate Professor of Early Modern British History at the University of Warwick. She is the author of Female Friends and the Making of Transatlantic Quakerism, 1650-1750 (Cambridge University Press, 2018) and editor of Negotiating Exclusion in Early Modern England, 1550-1800 (Routledge, 2021). She has also published a number of other chapters and articles on different aspects of early Quaker culture and facets of women's identities and experiences, including forthcoming articles in the English Historical Review and Journal of Early Modern History. The goal of this episode is to bridge the divide between "girls' girls" and "guys' girls" in an attempt to alleviate some of the hostility and misunderstanding between these two groups. I recently asked 600 women about their friendships. Nearly 30% of those women said that they had a friendships that they were currently considering terminating. If that's the case, we need to spend some time thinking about not only how to do it, but why we're making that choice. To join me in this conversation, Erin Falconer comes to shed some light on the issue. She's a psychotherapist and author of the book "How to Break Up with Your Friends", and I spotlight her in this conversation to just let her drop gems without interruption. As always, the full, unedited conversation is available for members of our GROUP CHAT, which you can join at any time by visiting Betterfemalefriendships.com. This week we talk to Ali, a young woman whose social media video went viral-- and shortly afterwards, there was a falling out. Listen as we interview her to learn what inspired the video, and what happened after it began to circulate online. We'll end the episode with a takeaway for women who are conflict averse people-pleasers, because there's a lot that they can learn from Ali's experience.
In this episode Joel and Antonia respond to a listener's question about navigating female relationships as an ENTP woman. https://personalityhacker.com
In 2013 Michael started studying finance as a second career and in 2015 he started taking on clients as a money manager. He has studied under Tom Sosnoff (the founder of the Think or Swim and TastyWorks platforms) who is the foremost expert on stock options trading on the planet. From these experiences, Michael learned the importance of intellectual curiosity, gratitude, humility as well as the importance of public speaking. He also learned about win-win situations, teaching others, and the importance of giving back through charity and education. In 2019 Michael created the Men of Action program. The program was a culmination of all these lessons and many more. The Men of Action program focuses on five pillars: Social Networking, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Mindset, and Finance. In this episode, Michael and Brad discuss the lifestyle Michael leads, the main focus in relationships, and why honesty is so important. 00:00 Intro 01:10 What's a “podcaster?” 02:30 Check out The Michael Sartain Podcast 07:00 The strategies to get in the room 09:30 Social media 12:00 The guilt within relationships 15:30 Open Relationships 18:19 How Michael makes money 20:26 Men of Action 24:00 Female Friends 31:35 Communication with women 38:02 The problem with only fans 46:10 Shout out to Dan Fleyshman 53:04 Why helping charities is pivotal to Michael 01:00:00 Russia and China 01:05:26 Six major events on earth 01:10:00 The two problems Michael solves 01:14:25 Go to https://www.moamentoring.com
