Today we are joined with the father of e-sports Walter Day! You may have been introduced to Walter many years ago through the popular Netflix documentary The King Of Kong and he is back as the main focus in a heartwarming new film titled Arcades & Love Songs. There is a brief moment in The King Of Kong showing Walter playing his guitar and saying he was going to quit the gaming industry and become a musician. That stuck with the documentary team and many years later they decided to take a deeper look into what he meant by that and ended up unexpectedly capturing the most beautiful journey. Walter began hearing original songs in his head after getting his heart broken in 1985, and since then he has wrote hundreds of songs about this woman that never saw the light of day. In this film not only does he reunite with her to tell her that, but at the age of 70 embarks on a career in music, records an album, and through the inspiration of his new appreciation for Taylor Swift ends up playing his very first gig. I can't say enough about how wonderful this documentary is. It will leave you inspired, and may even bring a lil tear to your eye. Was amazing to have this chat as well with Walter and get some extra layers and context on his beautiful journey. Her new movie The Black Mass takes a very different approach by telling a horrific true crime story of the 70's with one of the most famous serial killers in history. The film hyper focuses on a specific real incident that often gets over looked by the media, takes a real take of that period of time, and Devanny explains that the intentions of this movie were to honor both the victims and survivors of these acts. Was cool to hear her break down the layers of thoughts of bringing this film to like as she believes that "Horror can both entertain and educate".
