Ashley Loring Heavyrunner was last seen on a June 2017 night near Browning, Montana. Ashley was 20 years old and an aspiring environmental scientist who was noted for her intelligence, her love of animals, her infectious humor and her communication skills. After Ashley broke up with her first love and her grandfather died, her sister, Kimberly Loring, says she fell on hard times and into a bad crowd. The stories of the people she had been spending time with that day on the Blackfeet Reservation left more questions than answers in her mysterious disappearance. Kimberly joins me for a heartfelt conversation about her little sister, the case, her newfound faith and what she hopes for in resolving what happened to Ashley.Contact me at silverliningshandbookpod@gmail.comCheck out the Silver Linings Handbook website at:https://silverliningshandbook.com/Check out our Patreon to support the show at:https://www.patreon.com/thesilverliningshandbookJoin our Facebook Group at:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1361159947820623Visit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/Visit The True Crime Times Substack at:https://truecrimemessenger.substack.comThe Silver Linings Handbook podcast is a part of the ART19 network. This week we dive into the bizarre disappearance of Ashley Loring Heavyrunner from the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. Just 20 years old, investigators looked into some questionable relationships she may have had, substance abuse issues, and one particularly odd interaction with her father just before she disappeared. An overworked and under-funded police force leads to some devastating missteps within this case, and several untrustworthy characters make it difficult to know who is really telling the truth.Sources:1) https://uncovered.com/cases/ashley-loring-heavy-runner 2) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browning,_Montana 3) https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/kidnap/ashley-loring-heavyrunner4) https://www.aetv.com/real-crime/ashley-loring5) https://www.krtv.com/news/crime-and-courts/suspect-arrested-by-fbi-in-great-falls-has-been-identifiedSupport the show

After our rant on last week's episode, we only felt that it was appropriate to bring attention to two cases of missing BIPOC. After a real time Brink of Tears, Marissa shares the case of the missing Indigenous woman, Ashley Loring Heavyrunner, who vanished on a Montana reservation in 2017. Then Anna tells us of the missing persons case of LaQuanta Riley, who seemingly vanished into thin air from Alabama in 2003._Ashley was 20 years old at the time of her disappearance. She is described as being 5'2” tall and weighing about 90 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She would be 24 years old today. Anyone with information on Ashley's whereabouts is asked to call the Salt Lake City FBI at (801) 579-1400 or (800) CALL-FBI or tips.fbi.gov._LaQuanta Riley was 19 years old when she went missing in 2003. She would be 37 now. She has brown eyes and black hair, and at the time of her disappearance she was 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 200 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a green and yellow shirt, and green and yellow Reebok sneakers. Back in June 2017, Ashley Loring Heavyrunner attended a house party on Blackfeet Reservation. Despite video footage of Ashley at the party and a cryptic text exchange with her sister in the days that followed, she has not been seen or heard from in over three and a half years. Did Ashley simply walk away from her life like the local authorities have suggested? Or, did something more sinister befall the twenty-year-old Montana native? Tune in to this week's episode to hear what we know about Ashley's disappearance. If you have any information regarding this case, contact the Browning Police Department at 406-338-4000.
