What does it look like to live unashamed of the gospel? Stu Quackenbush reminds us that through Christ our old life has been put to death and we have been raised to walk in newness of life. This Baptism Sunday, we celebrate the power of the gospel to save, transform, and give us freedom from sin. We are challenged to live under grace and embrace the new life we have in Christ, unashamed of Jesus and fully committed to following Him.

The sermon explores the theme of God's providence through the biblical account of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8. It highlights how divine timing brings together specific individuals to share the gospel, emphasizing that salvation is a gift of grace received through faith in Jesus Christ rather than human merit. The preacher stresses the necessity of repentance and humility, illustrating these truths with personal anecdotes and the transformative power of baptism as a public declaration of faith. Ultimately, the message encourages listeners to recognize God's active role in their lives and to respond to His call by following Him without turning back.

We were created to know God, worship Him, walk with Him, reflect Him, and belong to Him. But sin is more than making mistakes — it's our declaration that "I trust myself more than I trust God." And we can't behave our way out of spiritual death. That's why God sent us a Savior. Jesus died. He was buried. And He rose again. Christianity isn't built on the advice of a dead teacher, but the victory of a risen King. When we surrender to Jesus, the old life dies and something new begins: I belong to Jesus.

The New Testament is filled with powerful stories of people hearing the Gospel, believing in Jesus, and being baptized. Today we are celebrating both adults who are publicly professing their faith in Christ and children of believers who are receiving the sign of God’s covenant promises. Those may seem like two very different moments but Acts 2 and Acts 16 help us see how they belong together. Fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus, Jews from all over the known world gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate Pentecost. They came from different nations, cultures, and languages. Then the Holy Spirit filled the disciples, and they began proclaiming the mighty works of God in the languages of the people gathered there. The sound drew a massive crowd, and Peter stood up and preached the Gospel. He told them that Jesus had been crucified, raised from the dead, and exalted as both Lord and Messiah.

This week, both churches found themselves in Exodus... just from different angles. Tim was back in the pulpit at Lakeview, preaching in the church's Exodus series for the first time in a while. Meanwhile, Andrew also found himself in Exodus as part of Safety Harbor's Kingdom Come series, proving that sometimes the lectionary and sermon calendars accidentally become best friends. It was Baptism Sunday at Lakeview, one of the best kinds of Sundays, as the church celebrated new life in Christ and watched people publicly declare their faith.Over at Safety Harbor, a new chapter is beginning as the preschool prepares to move out. That leaves a lot of empty space and a lot of questions. How should the church use it? More classrooms? Ministry space? Offices? A pastor-sized coffee shop? We talk through the opportunities and challenges that come with suddenly having room to dream. We also spend some time discussing the practical side of communion. How often should churches celebrate it? What details matter? What traditions are worth preserving, and where is there room for flexibility? And with summer quickly winding down, we're looking ahead to another school year and another busy ministry season. Fall is almost here, and pastors everywhere know what that means. The calendar is about to fill up fast. It's another week of preaching, planning, baptizing, and trying to make the most of the spaces and seasons God has entrusted to us.

What does it mean to be Made New? On Baptism Sunday at New Hope Church, Rev. Vicki Harrison opened Acts 22:6–16 alongside 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 3:27, and 1 Corinthians 12:13 to explore what baptism really means — not just as a ritual, but as a public declaration that you belong to Jesus. Baptism is an outward and visible sign of an inward grace. It tells the world that you have started a new life following Jesus — not just repentance of sin, but a commitment to walk in Christ. And as 1 Corinthians 12:13 makes clear, it is your official welcome party into God's family, the church. Series: Baptism Sunday (standalone) Speaker: Rev. Why Wait? | Acts 2:1–13, 37–41 Texts: Acts 2:1–13, 37–41; Matthew 3:13; Matthew 28:18–19; Romans 6:3–4Baptism Sunday is not a normal Sunday with a little water at the end.In Week 4 of Come, Holy Spirit, Pastor Kevin closes the series by showing how perfectly Baptism Sunday fits with the work of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit who fills us does not leave us hidden. The Spirit who leads us does not leave us passive. The Spirit who seals us does not leave us silent. The Holy Spirit gives ordinary people courage to publicly belong to Jesus. This message walks through Acts 2 and answers five questions people often have about baptism: why should I be baptized, what does baptism mean, how should I be baptized, who should be baptized, and when should I be baptized. Along the way, Pastor Kevin reminds us that baptism is not about religious performance or spiritual perfection. It is an outward sign of an inward decision, a public picture of the gospel, and a first step of obedience for redeemed people. If you have trusted Jesus but kept putting off baptism, this message is a clear, joyful, biblical invitation: there's water. Welcome to Wellspring Church! In this Baptism Sunday message, Pastor Billy Waters reflects on the difference between living in darkness and living in the light of Christ. Using the experience of suddenly losing power and being left in the dark as an illustration, Billy explores how darkness leaves us disoriented, hesitant, anxious, and unsure of where to go. In the same way, spiritual darkness can leave us struggling with fear, discouragement, confusion, and uncertainty about the future. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus does not leave us in darkness. He comes as the Light of the World, revealing who God is and showing us how to live. Billy reminds us that apart from Christ, we stumble through life trying to find our way. But when Jesus shines his light into our hearts, everything changes. What was once hidden becomes clear, and what was once ruled by fear can be marked by confidence and hope.
