Episode 016 - Locked In - Interview with Brian Brent, Loan Officer LOCKED IN – Anyone want to talk about mortgage forbearance? NOOOO! We're pretty much done with conversations about what you’re supposed to do during the Coronavirus. We invited Brian Brent, a loan officer at Bailey & Wood, to talk about what he is seeing on the front lines and how the Coronavirus has affected lending. SHOW NOTES 01:05 – Last few episodes have been very technical with information coming at you like water from a fire hydrant. People are getting tired of updates and being told what to do. 01:50 – Changing the conversation to talk about the “boots on the ground perspective” from real estate professionals working right now in the field. 03:00 – Introducing THE one and only Brian Brent, loan officer with Bailey and Wood. 03:52 – Brian gives his background. Been in the business for 18 years. “The only thing I know how to do.” Jody Bleier is his partner. Linda Leverage, mom, title rep and assists Brian now. Grew up in this business. Married to Billie. 4 “fur babies”. 05:45 – What is the one thing Brian misses the most during quarantine? Professionally: going to closing and being in front of people, celebrating victories in person. Personally: going to the gym, miss hugs, draft beer, taking wife out. 09:10 – Brian’s perspective and what is he seeing. Getting “sea legs” now after a few weeks into this. Over communicating with customers. Remaining agile with circumstances. Advising customers not to take a voluntary layoff or to do it. Doing what is right for the customer. Teamwork and unrelenting effort. With those elements, you can come out of this situation smelling like a rose. 12:25 – What have done to adapt to Coronavirus and quarantine? Quicker on response times. More communicating with listing agents. Over communicate with all parties. Positivity. Don’t spread negative. Not marketing to a database. Turning volume up on what we already do. 14:05 – Did you have digital systems in place? Yes. App is available on your cell phone and access it from any device. Uploading documents and going paperless. Being there for the customer without physically being there. 15:05 – Cate testimonial: Their app is great. Quick updates, clear to close faster. 15:28 – Chase changed their requirements for credit scoring and down payment on some loans. What was your take on that? Brian: didn’t change anything substantially. Unless the virus takes a dramatic turn for the worse, maybe everyone does that. Profitability for large banks on loans is very small. They make the most money on their deposits. Loans are too much downside risk for a small profit center. 17:23 – Christian – Jamie Dimon. 17:45 – Thank you Brian for joining us today and hope to have you on again. 18:00 – How to reach Brian Brent: (317) 695-5353, hoosiermortgageteam@bawfg.com 18:49 – Brian: Quick story about appraiser and a drive-by appraisal. Came up short on value. Go the extra mile to take care of your client. Get into the homes unless you absolutely can’t. 20:18 – Stay strong, we are a great community, we will get through this together. 20:35 – WASH YOUR HANDS! Full squad, full pod today as JP Finlay, Rich Tandler, Mitch Tischler, Pete "Weirdly Sad" Hailey and Ajay "Trunk Boy" Atayee were all out in Ashburn on Wednesday and are all a part of this Redskins Talk chapter. The guys give you the latest injury updates, starting with Cam Sims and Trey Quinn, before talking about the return of Brian Quick. They also discuss the elevation of pod favorite Kenny Ladler to the active roster. Will he play in Week 2? Next up is some important housekeeping on things such as the Survivor Pool and the Tailgate Party (Week 3 Packers game, BE THERE). Anddddddddd that's where things take a turn. The rest of the action starts out as a segment where everyone grades the photos our ambassadors have submitted to the @RedskinsTalkPod Instagram page, but that segment quickly devolves into Tandler saying the same rating over and over again and Mitch getting weirdly introspective about this weekend's weather. Also, Pete is in a weird mood the entire time. If you like podcasts where Tandler demonstrates he barely knows what Instagram is and the guys try to dance around an awkward situation involving a dog, then this is the episode for you.
JP Finlay, Rich Tandler, Pete Hailey and Ajay Atayee are bringing you this pod from JP's car out in Ashburn. Football is the focus at first, as the hosts recap who's healthy and who's not at running back and receiver and then debate the job security of players like Rob Kelley, Kapri Bibbs, Brian Quick and Trey Quinn. They then shift into an important segment (22:50), as they recognize all of the new podcast ambassadors. There are 80-plus names to read, so get comfy. If you like podcasts where Ajay contributes despite sitting in the trunk and Tandler is especially strict about made up rules, then this is the episode for you.
For the FIRST time in 2018, JP Finlay, Rich Tandler and Mitch Tischler recorded a post-victory podcast (yeah, it's preseason, but don't be so technical) and it's ready for you to enjoy. And, even though a 15-13 exhibition game sounds very boring, this episode is anything but. The receivers dominate the early portion of this recap, as the hosts wonder if Trey Quinn is at fault for his failed end zone connection with Alex Smith and also evaluate whether Cam Sims is primed to overtake Brian Quick. Eventually, though, as he usually does, Mitch steers things toward the BIG men and gushes over Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen and the rest of the 'Skins' defensive line. In fact, he even makes a bold proclamation about that specific unit. In the Game Balls and Goats segment, JP, Rich and Mitch hype up Kapri Bibbs (another riser) but don't give as much love to the NYJ LB who blasted Colt McCoy. Plus, stick around for the end as JP exclusively interviews both Sims & Bibbs postgame. If you like podcasts where JP and Tandler find a way to argue about whether there's an MRI machine at FedEx Field and Tandler also gets super grumpy about Dustin Hopkins receiving a game ball, then this is the episode for you.
It's a special day on Redskins Talk, because our bud Jackson brought the second-ever Redskins Talk-themed sign to training camp. So, Jackson got to join JP Finlay, Rich Tandler, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey for this episode of the podcast. Practice was a bit lighter than usual today, with the backups getting more reps than the starters. Therefore, the hosts bounce around (more than they normally do, at least) and cover all sorts of things. Included: A chat about Trey Quinn's not-so-strong performance, more Maurice Harris hype, a nugget from JP on a sneaky cornerback, a note about Brian Quick on special teams and the usual "one thing" segment, which features a look at Josh Norman and Ryan Anderson. You'll also hear a cameo by NBC Sports Washington's Julie Donaldson and a story about JP almost getting destroyed by Mitch. And finally, today's interview is held with Jordan Reed, and JP asks the tight end just how much work he puts into his conditioning and about his growing bond with Alex Smith. If you like podcasts where Tandler's Millennial Meter starts going off and a hypothetical on what Mitch's first phone call from jail would be like is floated around, then this is the episode for you.

When cornerback Janoris Jenkins signed a 5-year, $62.5 million contract with the New York Giants this past March, he joined a long list of stars to leave the Rams in the middle of their primes and join other teams, including Dick “Night Train” Lane, Jack “Hacksaw” Reynolds, and Jerome Bettis. Joshua Neuman previews Sunday’s game against the Giants at Twickenham Stadium in London and reflects on Jenkins’ four years with the Rams in St. Louis and imagines what might’ve been for the Jackrabbit in Los Angeles. Plus, the Rams get mauled by the Lions, Jeff Fisher continues to invoke the ire of fans, and the season’s biggest surprise—Kenny Britt and Brian Quick somehow emerge as a formidable WR duo.
While the 49ers may be the Los Angeles Rams most storied rival and the Seahawks the most formidable, during the Jeff Fisher Era the Cardinals have been the most hated—which made it all the more delightful when L.A. beat Arizona 17-13 at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday. “We see them after Christmas,” said Fisher inside the Rams locker room after the game. “This was their Christmas present. We just gave it to them early.” Joshua Neuman and Tunisha Singleton revel in the Bruce Arians beat down and wonder whether Jeff Fisher’s trash talking was also a secret message to his critics. Plus, Case and Kimberly Keenum have breakfast with Ryan Seacrest, Brian and Michelle Quick take shit from nobody, and the Buffalo Bills come to town in a game that pits Buddy Ryan’s protégé against his progeny.
Another Sunday down and another round of disappointments from high draft picks. We discuss if the nightmare will ever end. Plus, only our Michael Fabiano could have predicted Rams' Brian Quick having a 20-point performance. We'll catch up with Fabs to find out what he saw in Quick. Healthcare Tech Talk- Exploring how technology can help meet the challenges in Healthcare.
A data breach in the world of healthcare information technology (HIT) comes with a three-fold tear - patient data is compromised and vulnerable, patient trust is diminished or lost, and there exists a potential for up to millions of dollars in fines and potential insurmountable hardship for an organization. It seems that the amount of issues on our security plate are endless. Malicious hackers, unsuspecting coworkers, bumbling business partners, and conflicting data needs all pose potential pitfalls. In this episode, Brian Quick, who has spent much of the last decade working to meet these challenges, helps us navigate.
