The Washington Commanders lost badly to the Detroit Lions 44-22 on Sunday. The purpose of this episode is to go over the All-22 film and review what happened. The All-22 Review begins on offense, which saw Marcus Mariota played a solid game, posting a 133 passer rating and throwing for 2 TDs, but the team went 2 for 10 on 3rd down and could not sustain drives. The All-22 Review on defense is much worse somehow. Detroit absolutely dominated. Dan Quinn now takes over defensive playcalling duties from Joe Whitt Jr. as a result. The Side Piece report sees Amit celebrate the New England Patriots, while KDot has nothing to celebrate between the Raiders and Vikings. The Comment Mailbag features just 2 comments. Detroit Lions vs. Washington Commanders NFL Pick Prediction 11/9/2025 by Tony T. Lions vs. Commanders Injuries Detroit left tackle is questionable. On defense a safety is out. Washington quarterback Daniels and receiver McLaurin are out. On defense a safety is questionable. Detroit has a significant injury advantage based on the Chao ratings. The Commanders defense has the lowest health rating at 67.1 based on the players on IR. Detroit offense has the healthiest rating at 85.4. Recent Box Score Key Stats Lions at Commanders 4:25PM ET—Detroit drops to 5-3 following their 27-24 home defeat to Minnesota. The Lions rushed for 3.2 yards a carry and had movement in the passing game. On defense they limited the Vikings passing attack and allowed 142 yards rushing for 4.9 yards a carry. Jared Goff completed 25 of 37 for 284 yards and two touchdowns. Washington is 3-6 after their 38-14 home defeat to Seattle. The Commanders had poor work at quarterback and rushed for 157 yards for 4.4 yards per run. On defense they allowed 3.6 yards per run with 330 yards passing for 13.8 yards per pass attempt. Marcus Mariota relieved an injured Daniels and did not attempt a pass.
The Washington Commanders (3-6) host the Detroit Lions (5-3) at Northwest Stadium as Marcus Mariota fills in for Jayden Daniels and tries to keep our season alive. We begin this episode with a quick update on Jayden Daniels dislocated elbow. We received good news on it, with the X-Ray showing no fracture and the MRI showing no ligament damage. We begin the game preview, as we always do, with the injury report for the game. The Commanders injury report sees Jayden Daniels out and Terry McLaurin out once again, but the rest of the team looks good to go. On the other side, Detroit look like they will miss S Kerby Joseph, who leads them in interceptions, but are healthy aside from that. The Commanders offense, featuring Marcus Mariota, will play an underrated Lions defense that features Aidan Hutchinson, Al-Quadin Muhammad, Derrick Barnes, Jack Campbell, Brian Branch, Terrion Arnold and more. How do we exploit this defense? Deebo Samuel is seemingly the only receiving threat, and it's been a while since we've seen Bill Croskey-Merritt and this running game get going. The Commanders defense goes against Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown and this electric Detroit Lions offense that is 2nd in the NFL in points per game. Joe Whitt moves down from the booth to the sideline. What is that going to look like? How do we slow this Lions offense down? The Commanders are home underdogs by 8.5 points and the over-under is 48.5 points. Send us a textWeek 8 of the NFL delivered what we wanted: domination, chaos, and storylines popping off all over the place. Here's what we'll break down tonight:Massive blowouts everywhere — 12 of 13 games decided by 10+ points. A surge in backup QB starts and how that's messing up the whole board. The Indianapolis Colts riding high, climbing to the top surprisingly. The New York Jets finally get a win and it's wild — a 39-38 comeback vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. Injuries, resets, and what teams might do now that the season's getting real. We're not experts. We love this game, we call it like we see it, and we laugh along the way.

The Washington Commanders, with Jayden Daniels out and Marcus Mariota starting at QB, fall to the Kansas City Chiefs on the road at Arrowhead Stadium 28-7. The Commanders fall to 3-5 and in 3rd place in the NFC East.

Lynnell evaluates Marcus Mariota's performance in the Commanders' Monday Night Football loss to the Chiefs, giving him a B to B+ grade for his effort. While Mariota managed the game well, Lynnell challenges him to sharpen his accuracy and decision-making to help the Commanders sustain drives and finish possessions more effectively.
Everybody believes it's going to be easy work for the Chiefs Monday night against the team that should still be called the Redskins but let's not forget Washington was in the NFC title game last year. Starting QB Jayden Daniels is out but Stan Weber tells us that for a game or two, there won't be much difference with Marcus Mariota under center. We'll break down the matchup and ask the question if Washington coach Dan Quinn disrespects the game looking silly wearing his hat backwards.
Every week there is a new team on the field, not in a good way Last week was the worst L in the DQ era Bobby Wagner needs to lead this defense

The Washington Commanders (3-4) travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs (4-3) on Monday Night Football with Marcus Mariota starting at QB in place of the injured Jayden Daniels. We begin, as we always do, with the injury report for the game. The Commanders injury report sees Jayden Daniels out with a hamstring injury, but Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel set to return. Dorance Armstrong is out for the season with a knee injury. On the other side, Kansas City are largely healthy, with only Trey Smith and Josh Simmons looking likely to be out for the game. The Commanders offense, featuring Marcus Mariota, take on a continuously underrated Chiefs defense that has not given up more than 20 points at Arrowhead Stadium this season. With Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel back, though, there is some hope. What are the keys on this side of the ball to have success against this Chiefs defense, featuring Nick Bolton and Chris Jones? The Commanders defense goes against Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice and this high-powered Chiefs offense that has scored 30+ points in 3 of their 4 home games this season. Dan Quinn has talked about simplifying the defense so they can play faster without thinking or hesitation. What are the keys on this side of the ball to have success against an electric Chiefs offense? The Commanders are road underdogs by 11.5 points and the over-under is 47.5 points. The battered and bruised up Commanders roll into Arrowhead where the barbecue's smokin' and Mahomes is out here throwing underhand passes like it's backyard wiffle ball. Jayden Daniels is out with a hamstring injury, so Marcus Mariota gets the call. Grab your popcorn, your prayers, and maybe a bottle, because we don't even know if Terry McLaurin or Deebo Samuel are suiting up.The Chiefs defense has that track-speed energy, and the Commanders are gonna need some serious playbook magic or maybe just a straight up miracle in Missouri. Dan Quinn vs. Andy Reid. Chess match or checkers? We're about to find out. Strap in… it's Command This! Live.
