This week on Floyd 1:18 just like the rest of the world we had to get into this R.Kelly Sex Scandal. For 25 years now the world has known of the alleged abuses of power from the R&B singer in the forms of both sexual and psychological assault. This time something is different. No longer silenced by a once male dominated entertainment industry, we all over the globe have come together in recent years to say #TimesUp . And in this particular case, #MuteRKelly. Even still, something smelling funny. While Kelly is admittedly a “Bad Man”, we’ve all know this for a long time already. Why now? What’s the other side to this story. Are Black Men to blame for this one man’s actions. We got into it. We were joined by Dedrick Jenkins , financial expert and Queen, a veteran media correspondent. Rest In Peace to Jazmine Barnes and one time for Cyntonia Brown, granted clemency for the murder of a man who abused and tortured her. We talk about it all. Idk if we’re muting R.Kelly or not but if so we went out with a bang tonight. Be back next week.
Earlier last week I found myself scrolling the shade room and I saw this whole King Of RnB debate. RnB producer. Songwriter, and singer Tank, Said that The accusations against R. Kelly don't disqualify what he has accomplished. This is just one more thing that made me disgusted about the way black women are being treated. From the two sister who lost their life due to Intimate Partner Violence before thanksgiving to the fate of Cyntonia Brown, and the constant rise of trans women being assaulted and I constantly wonder if black women are actually as valued as people say we are? In this episode I present the facts from a recent CDC report and air out my frustrations Like, Share, Comment.
