New year, clean slate, and a mixtape that refuses to play it safe. We kick things off with ASAP Rocky's Helicopter, a three‑minute charge from Don't Be Dumb that sets a confident tone for a tightly curated run through surprise genres, sharp writing, and risky ideas. From there, we veer into Band of Heathens shifting into country textures, then drop into Iron and Wine's porch‑warm melancholy and Anna of the North's neon‑lit take on love bombing—two songs that hold the tension between wanting connection and protecting your heart. We swing the mood with Gorillaz and Sparks on The Happy Dictator, a sing‑along satire that skewers savior posturing across politics and boardrooms. Then Baz Luhrmann's team reassembles Elvis “DNA” into Wearing That Nightlife Look, all horns, gospel lift, and prime‑era presence. For a different kind of high, Illenium teams with Ryan Tedder on With Your Love, an EDM‑pop crossover built on sturdy songwriting and cathartic drops. We keep it playful with Chinese American Bear's No No Yeah Yeah, a bilingual indie pop hook that's all sunshine and earworm, before turning the amps back up with Silversun Pickups and their familiar, satisfying alt‑rock grit on The Wreckage.Juliana Hatfield offers a gentle anthem for choosing yourself with Harmonizing With Myself—finding rhythm in solitude and reframing pain—then we take a bold detour into French rap with Ninho and Freeze Corleone, where flow and cadence carry the emotion beyond language. Finally, Logic bends format with The Ballad of Rooster Jenkins, a long‑form narrative that spends seven minutes building a world before the beat lands, proving story can still command attention in a skip‑happy era.Tap play, follow our Song of the Day for daily gems, and share this mix with a friend who needs a fresh soundtrack. https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/sam-2026-january-new-music/pl.u-e2kEmIWl941Y1. ASAP Rocky.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Swedish pop star Robyn emerged as a phenomenon in the mid 1990s, an ingenue whose work with Max Martin presaged the R&B crossover hits of acts like Britney and the Backstreet Boys. Since her debut, she's released a string of albums that have shaped the sound of dance music as we know it. Now, Robyn is releasing her first new album in eight years, Sexistential, and she's given us three singles made up of her signature combination of thumping bass and ethereal vocals, while innovating into new personal –and vulnerable — territory. With raps about IVF, references to Blondie, a return to her collaboration with Max Martin, and our introduction of “drum n grace” to the lexicon, this episode is manna for Robyn fans and tyros alike. Stick around as we unveil a new feature, “Quick Hits,” a down-and-dirty carousel ride through the most interesting new releases, from ASAP Rocky to Zach Bryan. In this episode of Off the Screen, the full crew reunites and opens with music talk, reacting to ASAP Rocky's first album release in years and his upcoming tour. While opinions are split on the project's direction and energy, the discussion highlights how Rocky's sound has evolved and what fans expected after such a long hiatus. The conversation shifts into sports, touching on recent football playoff drama and college championship heartbreak before transitioning into the NBA. A major focus is Jimmy Butler's ACL injury, with the group debating how realistic a late-career comeback would be and what it means for Golden State's future roster strategy and cap situation. From there, the episode dives into a spirited Warriors segment. The hosts question front office decisions, roster construction, and whether the organization has maximized Steph Curry's remaining championship window. This naturally leads into a broader legacy debate: if Steph wins another title, does he enter serious all-time conversations with LeBron? The group breaks down championships, longevity, scoring impact, and how Steph's influence on the three-point era reshaped modern basketball. The episode blends humor, heated takes, and deep basketball analysis, making it a classic Off the Screen mix of culture, sports, and debate.00:00 — Podcast Intro + Full Crew Reunion 01:00 — ASAP Rocky New Album Reaction 01:30 — ASAP Rocky Tour + Ticket Talk 02:00 — Hip-Hop Debate (Rocky, J Cole, Big Sean) 03:00 — Music Industry Talk + Artist Popularity 05:40 — Rocky Album Review + First Impressions 07:00 — Testing Album Comparison + Sound Evolution 08:00 — Expectations vs Reality (Rocky Project) 09:00 — College Football Championship Reactions 09:40 — Bar Watch Party + Fan Energy 10:20 — School Rivalries + Program Pride 10:50 — Florida Schools + NBA Alumni 12:00 — NBA Transition 12:20 — Celtics Tickets + Fan Spending 13:15 — Jimmy Butler ACL Injury News 13:45 — Injury Recovery Timeline + Age Factor 14:30 — Jimmy Butler Career Impact Debate 15:00 — Star Injury Comeback Comparisons 21:00 — Golden State Warriors Roster Problems 21:30 — Contract Issues + Trade Rumors 22:00 — Warriors Front Office Criticism 22:40 — Steph Curry Championship Window 23:20 — Steph Curry vs LeBron Debate 24:00 — NBA Era Dominance vs Longevity 25:00 — Championship Difficulty Comparison 26:30 — Supporting Cast vs Carry Jobs 27:30 — All-Time Scoring Rankings 28:10 — Steph Curry Shooting Impact 29:00 — Legacy Debate Wrap-Up
Join POUR for a chaotic and hilarious "Live From The Hive" pre-game show! The crew kicks things off by addressing the elephant in the room—being "relegated" to the opening act in their own studio before the massive Texans vs. Patriots playoff clash. Tensions run high as Silk defends his Patriots against a room full of Texans fans, sparking a heated debate about CJ Stroud's recent shaky performance and whether the team should even consider the backup quarterback. The energy shifts when Jeff Shelly arrives late with a questionable story about waking up in the hospital and drops a bold prediction for a 17-point Texans victory. Between the sports takes, the squad dives into Houston's rapid rise as a cultural hotspot ("Implant City") and pivots to a passionate music discussion. They break down J. Cole's new album and get into a divided debate over ASAP Rocky's experimental new sound. Hosted by Analytic Dreamz, this breakdown explores the project's experimental edge, playful production, and bold themes of fatherhood, fame, industry clones, and unresolved rivalries. At the center is the standout track "Stole Ya Flow" (track 4), featuring Danny Elfman production, where Rocky delivers sharp bars widely interpreted as targeting Drake—accusing style theft with the chorus "First you stole my flow, so I stole yo' bitch," while referencing Rihanna, fatherhood, and alleged cosmetic procedures ("N****s gettin' BBLs, lucky we don't body-shame" / "My baby mama Rihanna, so we unbothered"). Rocky addressed the implied diss on The New York Times' Popcast, saying "I think we all know" and showing no interest in reconciliation: "It don't even need to be."The 15-track album (runtime ~1 hour) boasts a Tim Burton-designed cover and eclectic features/production from Brent Faiyaz, Doechii, Tyler the Creator, Gorillaz, Westside Gunn, will.i.am, Thundercat, and more. Highlights include innovative sampling on "Stay Here" (Brent Faiyaz), melodic vibes on "Punk Rocky," and high-concept cuts like "Robbery" and "Whiskey (Release Me)." Critics call it stronger and less self-serious than Testing, channeling "what 2011 Rocky would be making in 2026," though some experiments feel overdone.Amid family life with Rihanna (sharing three children: RZA, Riot, and Rocki Irish born September 2025) and no tour announced, Don't Be Dumb cements Rocky's status as a style icon and hip-hop force—personally unbothered and musically victorious in ongoing narratives.Join Analytic Dreamz for this no-holds-barred analysis of the beef timeline, track-by-track insights, and why this comeback matters in 2026 rap culture.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/analytic-dreamz-notorious-mass-effect/donationsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

On this episode of the Mallory Bros Podcast, the guys kick things off with a recap of Christmas morning, talking gifts, family time, being with the kids, and everything that comes with the holidays. That conversation naturally turns into a bigger question: is the Christmas magic gone? From there, the bros debate whether it's acceptable to bring a gaming console to the birth of your child after a tweet from Terrell went viral and sparked heavy discussion online. They then shift to serious news, reacting to Anthony Joshua's tragic accident in Nigeria, paying respect to those who lost their lives, and unpacking the circumstances surrounding the event. Next up, the guys talk about A$AP Rocky announcing a January release date for his upcoming album Don't Be Dumb—hopefully. They discuss whether the album will actually drop, what to expect creatively, and how Rocky's sound may evolve years after his prime run. The conversation then turns to Beyoncé officially becoming a billionaire, which opens a deeper discussion about wealth, ethics, and whether billionaires should be celebrated. That leads into a debate about dating etiquette: is it ever okay to ask for a box on the first date? Terrell pushes back on the idea that it signals financial instability and offers a different perspective. The two clash ideas here. Terrance then asks whether it's an underrated blessing to be with a woman who doesn't post on Instagram, following another trending conversation online. The episode wraps with a Cheers to 2026, as the bros share reflections on the year, personal resolutions, and goals for the Realest 9 moving forward. They close with thoughts on Draymond Green's take on playing NBA games on Christmas, some NFL talk as we prep for the last game of the season, and a small but common JD5 debate to take us out,. "Highest 2 Lowest" is an American crime thriller film directed by Spike Lee from a screenplay by Alan Fox. It is an English-language remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1963 Japanese film "High and Low," itself based on Ed McBain's 1959 novel "King's Ransom." The film stars Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, ASAP Rocky, John Douglas Thompson, Dean Winters, LaChanze, Princess Nokia, and Ice Spice (in her film debut). The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival out of competition, where it received positive reviews for its performances, music, and direction from Lee. Composer Howard Drossin and songwriter/performer Aiyana-Lee, who collaborated on the film's title track, were both kind enough to spend some time talking with us about their work and experiences working on the film, which you can listen to below.
