Eating comfort food with Emily Kelley!
Emily Kelley, artist and creator of Land&She, joins us as our first guest! In our weekly catch-up, we share our love for Rumble Boxing, and how Jaclyn has recently been influenced by food-related Netflix docs, and will be adjusting her diet in the new year. Emily Kelley is the owner of Land&She, a Philadelphia-based illustration studio and e-commerce shop. Emily explains the inspiration for her business, the epiphany that pushed her to go out on her own, and why it's important to be the catalyst for your own career. Emily describes the art of block printing, the products and experience she sells, and the unexpected demand of a tattoo ticket. We decide that a cultural yearning in this digital age for a handmade piece of art has pushed her forward, and how a zen / CBD-infused mindset is imperative to her process. Emily has become a self-made, female entrepreneur, and has realized being successful also includes creating and living a life that's good for the soul. We ask Emily classic Oh My God, Yes! or Oh My God, No! questions, and learn she has a distinct reaction to AirPods and lipstick, wants a first date to have a beard and bring a corsage, and that Jaclyn (maybe) doesn't know the difference between a crystal and a rock. In week two of our content special during Pride Month, Emily and I discuss her dealings with depression and anxiety, coming out with regards to bisexuality, and, in the wake of last week's celebrity suicides, why it can be so difficult to ask for help when you need it. If we're willing to be honest with each other, it's quite likely that Emily is one of the coolest people I know. She’s an award-winning writer who currently develops mobile games for both the iOS and Android platforms. She’s been working in gaming for three years, and has been writing for ten. Thanks to her variety of interests and backgrounds, she’s comfortable crafting branded content across a multitude of platforms for both internal and customer facing platforms, including places like the the Geekie Award-winning Wrong Button Blog which she co founded, and as the host of the Fan Theories and Wednesday in Westeros podcasts. In the episode, we also discuss the importance of self care, however it works for you. For Emily, care was found in words from another time and place, known by millions around the world to be that of Hogwarts. We spend time discussing how her passions for all things Harry Potter, her personal love of writing, and a fascination with Helena Bertinelli helped her get through some of her darkest times. EDITOR NOTE: This is a recut version of the episode due to a prior upload error.
Rob Kelley was a safety for the Saints. Emily Kelley, his wife, the unexpected turn her family's life has taken. Studio 78: Branding, Productivity, & Business Tips for Female Creative Entrepreneurs
Emily Kelley turned a last-minute trip into the fuel she needed to launch her business, Land & She. Wanting to align her passion with her vocation, Emily used the inspiration and feeling she got from her trip to begin experimenting with sketching and illustration. After some research and trial and error, she cultivated an aesthetic that represented her love for nature and appreciation for other art forms and works. Emily has amassed quite the following across social media platforms from posting her handmade artwork, and within a few months, her business growth has surpassed her expectations. Emily's evolution as a maker has only just begun, but based on the amazing work she's already produced, I'm sure she'll be a dynamic contributor to the creative space for years to come. Todd and Taylor are joined by special guest Emily Kelley (https://twitter.com/thatemilykelley) to talk about the greatest superhero movie of all time: Wonder Woman. We liked it quite a bit. We talk about our favorite parts, our hopes and fears for Justice League, and we discover our mutual appreciation for Zach Snyder. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
It is a very special episode of the Todd & Taylor Show without Todd! Taylor is joined by our always awesome co-host Emily Kelley (co-host of Fan Theories, 1/2 of Wrong Button Media and co-host of the Assembly of Geeks podcast) to talk Rogue One! That's right. The reason Todd doesn't appear is because he hadn't seen it yet! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Holy crap! You will not believe all the awesome people who are in the virtual studio with Taylor and me tonight to discuss the entire Season 6 of Game of Thrones.Emily Kelley from Assembly of Geeks (www.assemblyofgeeks.com/), mistress of all the Game of Thrones lore, joins us as do our old pals, the brother-husband / sister-wife team of Bryan and Phia Novak. It's an awesome cross-section of viewpoints on this episode. Emily has read (and retained) FAR more than Todd. Phia is the viewer purist. Bryan is a fan theory hound. And Taylor and I try to provide some sort of balance. This is an EPIC episode. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
