Ever been told “it's all in your head” when you know your body is asking for help? That disconnect is more than frustrating—it's often the very thing that deepens our stress, amplifies burnout, and keeps us stuck. In Episode 242: Holistic Psychology for Stress Relief: Bridging Eastern and Western Healing, I sit down with holistic psychologist Tatiana Miller to explore what happens when we stop chasing symptoms and start listening to our whole selves. Tatiana's story is powerful—from years of being dismissed by Western doctors to discovering healing through yoga, breathwork, and the philosophies of Eastern medicine. Her journey shows what's possible when we combine modern psychology with mindful movement and emotional intelligence. In this conversation, we talk about why traditional therapy often misses the mark, especially for women navigating midlife burnout. Tatiana explains how holistic psychology utilizes the four pillars of emotional intelligence—self-awareness, reflection, regulation, and social connection—to foster genuine, lasting change. We also dive into how practices like Yoga, Pilates, and breathwork do more than move your body—they help downregulate the nervous system, signal safety, and rebuild your energy from the inside out. This episode is especially for you if you're feeling overwhelmed, unseen, or just plain tired of managing stress the old way. It's not about pushing through. It's about aligning with your truth, your rhythm, and your spark. ✨ This is one of many ways to pursue your spark. Start here—and explore the full collection to reconnect with your strength, joy, and resilience. Effective Strategies and Tips Stress is an inevitable part of life, but how we manage it can make all the difference in our overall health and well-being. Chronic stress can lead to a range of health issues, from anxiety and depression to heart disease and weakened immunity. By mastering stress, we can enhance our quality of life, improve our physical and mental health, and foster a more positive outlook. Here are some effective strategies and tips to help you manage stress and lead a healthier life. 1. Identify Your Stressors The first step in managing stress is to identify what triggers it. Keep a stress journal to track situations, events, or people that cause you stress. Note your reactions and any patterns that emerge. Understanding your stressors helps you develop strategies to avoid or mitigate them. 2. Practice Mindfulness and Meditation Mindfulness and meditation are powerful tools for reducing stress. These practices help you stay present, focus on your breath, and cultivate a sense of calm. Even just a few minutes of daily meditation can significantly lower stress levels and improve emotional regulation. 3. Exercise Regularly Physical activity is one of the most effective ways to combat stress. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. Whether it's a brisk walk, a yoga session, or a workout at the gym, regular exercise can help reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost overall health. 4. Maintain a Healthy Diet What you eat can affect your stress levels. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains provides the nutrients your body needs to function optimally. Avoid excessive caffeine and sugar, which can exacerbate stress and anxiety. 5. Get Enough Sleep Adequate sleep is crucial for stress management. Lack of sleep can increase stress levels and make it harder to cope with everyday challenges. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. Establish a bedtime routine, create a comfortable sleep environment, and avoid screens before bed to improve sleep quality. 6. Learn to Say No Overcommitting yourself can lead to increased stress. Recognize your limits and learn to say no when necessary. Prioritize your tasks and delegate when possible. Setting boundaries helps you manage your time and energy more effectively. 7. Connect with Others Social support is vital for stress management. Spend time with family and friends, join a support group, or engage in community activities. Talking about your stressors with someone you trust can provide relief and new perspectives. 8. Practice Relaxation Techniques Incorporate relaxation techniques into your daily routine to manage stress. Deep breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, and visualization can help you relax and reduce stress. Find what works best for you and make it a regular practice. 9. Manage Your Time Effectively Time management is key to reducing stress. Plan your day, set realistic goals, and prioritize tasks. Break larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps and avoid procrastination. Effective time management helps you feel more in control and reduces stress. 10. Seek Professional Help If stress becomes overwhelming, don't hesitate to seek professional help. A therapist or counselor can provide support and teach coping strategies. Sometimes, just talking to a professional can provide relief and help you develop a plan to manage stress. Mastering stress is essential for leading a healthier, happier life. By identifying your stressors, practicing mindfulness, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, learning to say no, connecting with others, practicing relaxation techniques, managing your time effectively, and seeking professional help when needed, you can reduce stress and improve your overall well-being. Remember, managing stress is a continuous process, and finding what works best for you is key to achieving lasting peace and balance.

Grandpa Bill shares:No matter where you are or what your day holds, let's take just a few moments to connect with ourselves, to find that peaceful core within. This is a gift you give to you.First, find a quiet space. Take a moment to settle in. It doesn't have to be perfect, just a spot where you feel comfortable and can minimize any distractions for the next few minutes. If you're able, perhaps close your eyes gently, or just soften your gaze downwards. Now, let's set an intention. Before we even begin, what do you want from this brief pause? Is it a feeling of deeper relaxation? A clearer sense of focus for what's next? Maybe it's preparing your mind for peaceful sleep, or simply finding a moment of calm in a busy day. Whatever it is, just gently hold that intention in your mind. And now, just listen. Allow the sounds to wash over you. You might notice the gentle hum of the binaural beats in the background. Just let those frequencies guide you. There's nothing you need to do, nothing you need to fix, nowhere else you need to be. Just be present with the sound. As you listen, bring your awareness to your breath. Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest or abdomen with each inhale and exhale. Don't try to change your breath, just notice it. It's always there, a steady rhythm within you.Imagine each inhale bringing in a sense of calm, of peace, filling every part of your being. And with each exhale, release any tension, any worries, any thoughts that aren't serving you right now. Just let them float away like clouds in the sky.Feel your body relaxing, from the top of your head, down through your shoulders, your arms, your hands. Feel your back and torso softening, your hips sinking comfortably. Relax your legs and your feet. Every part of you is settling deeper into this moment of peace. The binaural beats are gently guiding your mind, helping you find a sense of harmony. You might feel a subtle shift, a quietening of the chatter, a deepening of your inner calm. This is your mind and body working together, finding their natural balance. You are cultivating your inner 'Silver Streaker' – that vibrant, resilient, peaceful part of you that's always ready to move forward with grace and ease.Just a few more breaths here, allowing yourself to simply be. Resting in this stillness, this harmony.(Pause for 10-15 seconds of quiet listening to the binaural beats.)Now, gently bring your awareness back to the room, to your surroundings. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Take a slightly deeper breath. And when you're ready, slowly open your eyes.Carry this sense of calm, this mind-body harmony, with you as you continue your day. Remember, this peaceful space is always available to you, just a breath and a listen away.#MindBodyHarmony,#BinauralBeats,#SilverStreakers,#GrandpaBill,#HolisticHealth,#WorkoutsForGeriatrics,#BrainWaves,#SoundHealing,#Consciousness#HealthyAging,#WellnessJourney,#MentalClarity,#StressRelief,#MeditationForBeginners,#Neuroscience,#BHSalesKennelKelpHolisticHealingHour,#KidsFrom1To92,#BillHolt8792,Creative Solutions for Holistic Healthcare

Can you really heal your body from within—without medication or expensive treatments? In this powerful episode of The Science of Self-Healing, Dr. Odell explores one of the most overlooked keys to physical and emotional wellness: the vagus nerve. Known as the "wandering nerve," the vagus connects your brain to your heart, gut, lungs, and more—regulating digestion, immune response, inflammation, and even your ability to feel calm and connected. He'll also explain the anatomy and function of this remarkable nerve, how it influences the autonomic nervous system, and why it's essential to your body's natural healing process. You'll also discover the latest on polyvagal theory, how to improve vagal tone, and practical, accessible ways to stimulate the vagus nerve naturally—like breathwork, cold exposure, chanting, laughter, and even meaningful eye contact. This episode isn't just science—it's an invitation to slow down, tune in, and awaken your body's deep wisdom to heal, restore, and thrive.

This sound features Alpha waves at 10 Hz with a low, 150 Hz carrier tone.Like Delta waves, Alpha waves are also associated with reduction of stress and anxiety. They differ, however, in that they are a wakeful brainwave. They are tied to mindfulness, neurofeedback, and relaxed wakefulness as well as calm focus. Some believe that Alpha waves are the bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind. Some use these beats for creativity, euphoria, visualization, or even manifestation.

// ABOUT THIS JOURNEY //We access the realm of your eternal soul's wisdom (Higher Self!) by using hypnosis. Some of the questions we're exploring on this hypnotic adventure:What is collective consciousness? How does the collective energy affect you personally? What can you do to protect your energy from a lower concsiousness around you? What can you do to create more experiences in a collective consciouness that is beneficial for the life you came here to create. What role can you play in elevating the collective consciousness.Expanding awareness, elevating the frequency at which the energy you are is vibrating, and we merge with this divine part of you to gain insights and understandings that can help you to shift your consciousness. Understanding the nature of your consciousness is a necessary step in shifting it. We're just getting started on this journey I know it. Their situation is not unique; many people experience similar feelings as they navigate their anxiety journey. I delve into the importance of trusting oneself, particularly in moments where decision-making feels paralyzing and anxiety seems insurmountable.Starting with the listener's expression of frustration—waking up feeling exhausted and anxious, despite attempts to find calm through meditation—I break down the message into manageable pieces. I underscore that a tough day, especially one fueled by a lack of restful sleep, is a reality many face. Instead of battling the day's challenges, I encourage embracing them, acknowledging fatigue while allowing anxiety to accompany us without letting it define our day.As the listener grapples with racing thoughts about the future, I draw attention to the futility of trying to force these thoughts away. It's more productive to foster curiosity about them and redirect focus to the present moment. By practicing mindfulness—whether through a simple breath or by engaging with our surroundings—we can ground ourselves in the now, freeing ourselves from the cyclic worry that anxiety often brings.#AnxietySupport, #SelfTrust, #Mindfulness, #StressRelief, #MentalWellness, #CopingSkills, #AnxietyHelp, #MindfulLiving, #PresentMoment, #EmotionalHealth, #PersonalGrowth, #InnerPeace, #HealingJourney, #SelfCare, #AnxietyRecovery, #Meditation, #Breathwork, #CognitiveBehavioralTherapy, #AcceptanceCommitmentTherapy, #WellbeingJourney, #AnxietyFree, #EmotionalRegulation, #OvercomingAnxiety, #AnxietyAwareness, #MentalHealthMatters #GinaRyan #ACP #AnxietyCoachesPodcastSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
