While there are some obvious choices with these multi-generational pairings, a couple of our picks might just surprise you! Dr. Beckett welcomes Graig Miller (Mid-Life Cards) and his dad, Michael, discussing why they collect, the appeal of old “artifacts” cards, and the imagined journey of items like an 1888 N76 Thomas Edison. They contrast collecting “lanes,” with Michael focused and Graig boundary-pushing, and explain why value matters less to them because they built collections with “hobby money” through buying, grading, selling, and trading. Greg shares what his daughters learn from the hobby about preservation and respect for tangible items amid disposable culture. They discuss Pokémon's boom, relevance risks for all collectibles, and handling criticism by staying accessible and focusing on constructive feedback. They close with parenting advice emphasizing fairness, consistency, trust, and being present. 00:36 Collecting as Artifacts 02:19 Finding Your Lane 03:31 Hobby Money Strategies 05:11 Kids and Life Lessons 07:57 Pokemon Boom Debate 10:33 Handling Criticism 15:02 Fatherhood Advice

Dr. Beckett welcomes Graig Miller (Mid-Life Sports Cards) and his father Michael. They discuss Graig's new book, Midlife Card Çollecting Stories, and the growth of his YouTube channel and podcast into a network. Michael describes Graig as naturally shy and reflects on how they both approach teaching and coaching, emphasizing meaningful communication over performance. They compare collecting styles: Michael's narrow focus on rebuilding and grading his childhood 1959–1960 Topps sets and gradually moving earlier, versus Greg's eclectic interests including 100+ year-old cards and vintage golf cards. Michael explains returning to the hobby through taking his kids to 1980s card shows and later reconnecting with Graig after losing his wife. They highlight the special value of a reclaimed childhood card with Michael's name, the actual card from his childhood, and discuss collecting driven by passion, personal goals, and community rather than competition or card value. 00:43 Graig's Hobby Journey 02:51 Teaching and Coaching Style 05:54 Collecting Focus Differences 10:08 Reclaiming a Childhood Card 12:07 Hobby as Side Gig 15:40 Golf and Healthy Competition

Dr. Beckett hosts a Father's Day podcast with Jeremy Lee of Sports Cards Live and his father, Harvey, discussing Jeremy's record-setting purchase of a 1914 Cracker Jack Shoeless Joe Jackson card, why it felt emotional but was later validated by other buyers, and the role of due diligence, intuition, and luck. They explore common beginner mistakes, especially collecting in isolation, and emphasize learning through community, podcasts, and longitudinal, multi-variable thinking. Jeremy explains he has no remorse consolidating over 330 cards to fund the grail, and frames mistakes as “tuition,” noting his book Pops and Comps aims to reduce costly errors. Dr. Beckett advises beginners to “wait” before big buys and to buy with “weight” by acquiring larger lots to spread risk, while also addressing impulsivity, market volatility, risk tolerance, and hobby addiction support via Collectors MD. 00:30 Shoeless Joe Record Buy 01:27 Trusting Your Gut 02:22 Beginner Mistakes 03:47 Long Term Thinking 04:48 Consolidation No Regrets 05:24 Mistakes as Tuition 07:27 Wait and Weight Rule 08:49 Rookies and Risk Balance 10:55 Action Now vs Patience 11:38 Addiction and Self Control 12:58 Hobby Spectrum Types
Paul Okon doesn't like talking about his son with journalists. When you've captained Australia and you're a coach of the Socceroos, you worry about perceptions. He need not stress, Paul Junior is a gun and very much his own man. On the eve of the Turkiye clash, Okon senior indulges us with questions on his son, but discusses the squad more broadly. Tactics, mentality, fear, the ex-Socceroo skipper is expansive and warm in an insightful conversation.Featured: Paul Okon, former Australia captain and Socceroos assistant coach. To catch up on everything that's making sports headlines recently, listen to more episodes of ABC Sport Daily,' hosted by Patrick Stack on ABC listen or wherever you get your podcasts, and get in touch with them on social media via @abc_sport. Dr. Beckett welcomes guests Jeremy Lee (Sport Cards Live) and his father, Harvey. They reflect on sharing the hobby at events like the Toronto Sports Expo, emphasizing community, diplomacy, and how Jeremy's approach mirrors Harvey's service mindset. Harvey describes supporting Jeremy's shift from accountancy into the hobby despite initial trepidation, while Jeremy explains his growth from content creator to publisher and collaborator came from impulsive ideas rather than a master plan. They compare being Canadian versus American in medicine and the hobby, highlighting technology's global reach and currency impacts. It's free!https://www.ryanfranklin.org/clselfassessment Description:Chantry Dean highlights that a healthy transition was built on intentional, honest conversations—especially around timing, visibility, and influence. He and his father clarified expectations early, ensuring unity and avoiding confusion about leadership. Most importantly, they prioritized their relationship over their roles, keeping “father and son” first. This foundation created trust, freedom, and mutual respect. Through ongoing communication, they navigated differences in leadership style, with Chantry learning to build on his father's legacy rather than imitate it, allowing him to lead authentically without dishonor.Purchase Christian Leader Sight Planner (a tool that has drastically changed Ryan's productivity): Black Cover – https://amzn.to/3JpBHvm Blue Cover – https://amzn.to/4ouFRB9 Green Cover – https://amzn.to/4oXVLUr Purchase The Christian Leader Blueprint book today: https://www.ryanfranklin.org/blueprintbookDownload The Christian Leader Blueprint – Short Guide (Free): https://www.ryanfranklin.org/blueprint Take the Christian Leader® Self-Assessment (Free):https://www.ryanfranklin.org/clselfassessment Learn more about Christian Leader® Community Coaching:https://www.ryanfranklin.org/communitycoaching YouTube and Audio Podcast: https://www.ryanfranklin.org/leaderpodcast Connect with Ryan: Email: info@ryanfranklin.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rnfranklin/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rnfranklin/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rnfranklin/ Audio mastering by Apostolic Audio: https://www.apostolic-audio.com#leadership, #thoughtleadership, #ministry, #pastor, #pastors, #churches, #leadershiptraining, #churchleader, #churchleaders, #influence, #leadershipdevelopment, #coaching, #executivecoach, #leadershipcoaching, #productivitycoach, #productivity, #growthmindset, #theproductiveleader, #ChristianLeader, #ChristianLeadership, #LeadershipPodcast, #FaithAndBusiness, #PodcastInterview, #ChristianEntrepreneurship, #KingdomImpact, #PodcastInspiration, #LeadershipJourney, #PurposeDriven, #ChristianPodcast, #LeadershipEssentials, #LeadershipFundamentalsSend us Fan Mail
In this homily given on Trinity Sunday May 31st, 2026, Father Mathias preaches on the fact that God, who is Father Son and Holy Spirit is love itself. Drawing from the Gospel, Father reminds us that God is for us and not against us; he has come to save us from our sins, not to condemn us. Father challenges to avoid a false spirituality of fear that has crept back into the Church masquerading as a traditional Catholic spirituality. He ends his homily offering a few reminders of how God relates to us in our sin for those struggling with a voice of condemnation in their hearts.
Mission isn't a church program—it's the overflow of God's own life. The Father sends the Son, the Son sends the Church, and the Spirit makes us God's sons and daughters who cry “Abba!” and live with courage. We've received peace, been formed, learned love, seen compassion, been empowered by the Spirit—now we're sent in God's name. Matthew 28:16–20 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”Romans 8:14–17For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

In this episode of The Upgraded Man Podcast, host Chris Anderson sits down with Dr. Carla Caturia, a mindset and family relationship expert who has worked with thousands of families to help fathers strengthen their connection with their kids. As the first female guest since the show's rebrand, Dr. Carla brings a fresh, practical perspective to one of the toughest questions dads face: how do I stay close to my kid as they grow up? Whether you have a toddler, a teenager, or a kid somewhere in between, this conversation gives you a real-world framework for showing up as the father your kids actually need. Key topics and takeaways: Why the disconnect between dads and their teenage sons is normal, but absolutely fixable The "fix-it trap" most dads fall into and what to do instead when your kid opens up How to read your child's energy and know when to listen versus when to engage The difference between productive struggle and being too hard on your kids Why discipline rooted in natural consequences is more effective than reactive punishment How to navigate the identity shifts kids go through in elementary, middle, and high school The 20-minute weekly strategy that can transform your relationship with your teen Why regulating your own emotions is the single biggest move a dad can make How to spot whether your kid is dealing with a motivation problem or an identity problem The role of vulnerability in earning your child's trust and respect Why affirmations only work when paired with evidence What dads need to let go of as their kids grow into their own people Dr. Carla also shares the story of a father and two sons whose relationship transformed through small, consistent shifts, and leaves dads with a powerful reminder to have grace with themselves through the journey. Shane and Nathan Cox are a father-son duo that are a force to be reckoned with. Shane was a great running mentor to his son Nathan while Nathan was younger. Nate then went on to run collegiately with Shawnee State. The other thing you will notice with them at races is that they give 100% effort from start to finish. I have known them for a while and it was great to sit down and chat with both of them about what they get out of the sport.

Fresh back from an epic Gould's turkey hunt with oldest son, Forrest--and no idea where he got the turkey hunting fever, not from his Dad, that's for sure--and we recount our time together high in the Sierra Madres, one of the most beautiful parts of Mexico encountered. We talk about the people, food, environment, those huge Gould's turkeys, of course, and Forrest teaches ol' Dad a couple things about a proper turkey hunting mindset. Am still not a turkey hunter--ain't teaching this old duck dog new tricks anytime soon--but it was a heckuva father-son adventure regardless. Greg answers questions about whether God has always been Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, his thoughts on women in ministry, how a layperson who isn't into apologetics can defend the idea that Jesus is the only way, and how to approach loved ones who are following a false prophet. Dr. X graduated two years ago and joined his father's practice with the understanding that one day it would be his. But right now, he's paid a daily rate, produces a fraction of the revenue, and has no formal path to ownership. His dad, a 35-year veteran producing $1.5M a year, loves dentistry and isn't slowing down. Meanwhile, Dr. X is sitting in half-empty chairs, struggling to grow, and watching his vision for the future clash with his father's comfort zone. In this raw MyStory episode, Craig, Peter, and Ian unpack everything Dr. X is up against: a team that doesn't see him as the leader, a business that's built around one producer, and a mindset that's quietly holding him back. Craig shares his own painful experience navigating the same dynamic with his father and the fights that nearly destroyed their relationship. The conversation goes deep on knowing your numbers, building a vision bigger than yourself, and why the hardest conversation you'll ever have might be the one that changes everything. Dusty Imoo was once ranked as the number one ice hockey goalie prospect in the world. His statistics were beyond incredible .., and then "life happened". Dusty began realizing the pressures that were being placed upon him at an age where no-one knew how to help support and guide those having to deal with the pressures of being an elite athlete. Over time, these various forms of pressure became greater than that which a young athlete, living on own, in foreign environment should have to handle at a young age (15-18 years of age).As an athlete, Dusty has put together a professional career in Japan that is beyond impressive. HIs elevation into that of becoming a professional goalie coach has been even more impressive - as he has trained professionals in the most elite leagues in the world (ie., NHL, KHL, AHL, and WHL). But it is not his technical teachings that goalies have been most drawn to him for - it's his ability to help create an inner calm within those he works with that has made him so very sought-after. So much so, that the list of elite professionals whom he has worked with is both long and impressive.Today, Dusty works with not only goalies but those within a wide variety of sports as well as those within the world of business (ie., corp executives, directors ...). But a really cool stat that Dusty Imoo has is equal to that of the Legendary play - Gordie Howe ... Dusty was able to backup for his son Jonah Imoo in a professional game. Making this the first and only Father-Son goaltending combination to appear in a progressional ice hockey game.Dusty Imoo - Contact information:www.thegoalietherapist.com

What does a veteran crime reporter turned "Philly Culture" columnist have in common with a father-son duo obsessed with a galaxy far, far away? More than you'd think. In this special 5th Anniversary episode, we welcome Stephanie Farr of The Philadelphia Inquirer to celebrate the journey of Father. Son. Galaxy. and the heartbeat of the City of Brotherly Love. We're looking back at the serendipitous moment Stephanie's 2021 profile that blasted our podcast into hyperspace and caught the attention of Mark Hamill himself.Stephanie shares her own fascinating journey—from writing obituaries in small-town Pennsylvania to uncovering the "weird, wild, and wonderfully unique" stories that define Philadelphia. Beyond the Star Wars magic, she offers her "insider-outsider" perspective on why Philly's honest, "Eagles-hoodie-wearing" culture is the perfect backdrop for our story. Whether you're a journalism student looking for career advice, a Star Wars fan, or a tourist seeking hidden gems like the City Hall tower tour, this episode is a love letter to five years of storytelling, community, and the force that connects us all.

Send us Fan MailOn today's episode of The Justin Prince Show, I get to do something really special sit down and interview my son, Isaac, just days before he turns 22.I'll be honest… I don't just say this because I'm his dad Isaac is one of the most unique people I've ever met. He's got a depth, a perspective, and a level of intentionality that's rare at any age, let alone at 21.In this conversation, we talk about what it's like for him stepping into this next chapter of life coming home from his mission, figuring out purpose, and learning how to build a life that's aligned with who he really is. We also get into faith, identity, discipline, and what it actually means to live an intentional life in a world that's constantly trying to distract you.As a father, this episode meant a lot to me. Not just because of the conversation, but because of what it represents a moment in time. A chance to capture where he's at, what he believes, and who he's becoming. We also talk about parenting what worked, what didn't, and what I believe matters most when it comes to raising kids in today's world. Isaac shares his perspective on how he was raised, and I think there are some powerful takeaways for any parent listening.More than anything, this episode is about growth. It's about faith. It's about becoming. And I hope as you listen, it challenges you to reflect on your own life who you're becoming, what you're building, and what really matters most.
What happens when the host becomes the guest? Ina very special Episode 203 of On The Delo, Eric Walters of A Taste of AZ flips the mic to interview Delo and his father Ed DeLorenzo—the original "Delo"—in a rare, unfiltered father-son conversation about legacy, fitness, sales, and what it really means to build something that lasts. From Ed's Mr. Colorado bodybuilding titles and his 50+ years in insurance, to Delo's pivot from the music business into carving a restaurant hospitality niche, this conversation is packed with raw wisdom, honest stories, and real lessons on relationships, persistence, and knowing when to let go. The trio covers how the DeLorenzo legacy traces three generations—from Grandfather Guido selling kitchen equipment at iconic New York establishments, to Ed founding Ambassador Group, to Delo spending 26 years building a niche serving the hospitality industry. Along the way, they tackle the Pumpkin Patch Theory on firing bad clients, how honest selling beats slick tactics every time, health as a non-negotiable business pillar, and why people eating at their neighborhood restaurant still matter more than any transaction. If you've ever wondered how decades of experience pass from one generation to the next—or what it looks like to keep showing up at 77, five days a week—this one's for you.Chapter Guide (Timestamps):(0:00 - 2:32) Role Reversal Intro: Eric Takes the Mic & Who Is the Original "Delo"?(2:33 - 4:20) Ed's Roots: Brooklyn, New Jersey, Colorado State Football & Moving West(4:21 - 7:30) The Fitness Foundation: Mr. Colorado, Working Out at 77 & Accountability(7:31 - 9:15) Pressure, Persistence & Knowing When Enough Is Enough(9:16 - 11:20) Three Generations: Grandfather Guido, Restaurant Roots & Ambassador Group(11:21 - 15:10) Sales Then vs. Now: Honest Selling, AI Disruption & The Human Advantage(15:11 - 21:00) Extrovert Introverts, Relationship Business & Firing Bad Clients(21:01 - 24:35) Delo's Story: Music, Diamond in the Rough & the First Restaurant Client(24:36 - 27:05) Learning from Dad: Breakfast Appointments, Phone Calls & Julian Wright(27:06 - 30:50) Health as Priority #1: Sobriety, Fitness & Knowing Your Numbers(30:51 - 34:10) Restaurant Trends: Drinking Less, Mocktails, Healthy Menus & Neighborhood Loyalty(34:11 - 37:25) The Future of Ambassador Group, Human Connection & Close
