Il percorso che prima era affollato di passeggeri e curiosi, col naso all'insù o gli occhi puntati ai binari, è ora interrotto da una miriade di stand, negozi, file di persone apparentemente interessate soltanto ai prodotti da acquistare. È disorientato, come quando ti aspetti una cosa e ne trovi un'altra. Scende nella galleria sottostante. In origine qui si trovava la biglietteria, dalla quale si affrontavano le imponenti scalinate per giungere alla galleria di testa. Lo ricorda ancora. Ora gli sportelli per la vendita dei biglietti sono stati sostituiti in gran parte da vetrine per negozi, attività commerciali e di ristoro. Com'è possibile? pensa Gionni.
