TVC 738.4: Ed welcomes back actor, comedian, voice artist, and impressionist Jim Meskimen (Landman, Gaslit, Welcome to Chippendales, The Big Door Prize). Topics this segment include how Jim's early background acting in commercials provided a training ground for delivering a full performance, even when doing a one-line, one-scene, five-second bit (such as his recent appearance as the "cranky diver" in the new commercial for AppleWatch); why a good actor is also a good listener; and how the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Modern Health helped Jim refocus his career path. Jim's latest movie, the action thriller Hungry, becomes available for viewing on demand on all streaming platforms beginning Tuesday, June 23.
Tatted muscle-bound Japanese/Irish male performer, creator, and DJ/producer, London Ford, has been in the adult industry for a little under a year, but has definitely left his mark. Raised in Japan, he never had a traditional education. As a teenager, he left home, delved into Tokyo's dizzying nightlife as a nightclub promoter, did modeling, and was part of an all-male dance revue (like Chippendales) called All Out that appeared on TV and toured. London has lived in three different countries and now resides in Las Vegas, living the American Dream. Before entering the industry, he built his own business as a bachelorette-party dancer and cheeky butler, which led him to open the business he has now. He also worked the nightclub scene before doubling as a wedding pastor and a male stripper. London's first scene was as a fill-in, and they gave him a chance to audition, and the rest is history. In 2026, London received his first industry nomination from the ASN Lifestyle Awards for Best Published Male Model. To learn more about London, visit https://www.instagram.com/londonford108/______________________________________________________________________https://www.websterstyle.com______________________________________________________________________Ways To SupportBasil and Sage, visit them at https://basilandsage.com/. Despite the implications of its subtitle, this is not a travel guide to Singapore, although readers run the risk of becoming tempted to venture there. Author Lim Tse Wei begins this collection of essays with the candid admission, “I am a somewhat unusual cook. My main qualification for the profession is that I was born and raised in Singapore, where food is both secular obsession and national religion. I didn't learn to cook at my mother's side, or my grandmother's, and although my grandfather had been a cook for some years, we didn't speak of it in the family. In Singapore, good sons do not learn to cook.” Lim's dry commentary and insight introduces us to a world of striking juxtapositions, from expatriate French chefs preparing food for diners in Chippendale chairs to street hawkers who struggle to make a living wage, let alone one that would allow them to feel like full-fledged members of Singaporean society. He makes his grandmother's recipe for lou arh, braised duck, in suburban Massachussets and questions why anyone would export Tabasco sauce to Southeast Asia, “home of the most nuanced and varied chilli-eating culture on the planet.” There are a few recipes, some traditional, some not at all, included to illustrate ideas rather than to command us to act. And although Lim makes no attempt to be systematic in his coverage, he still paints a vivid picture of the city-state's culinary culture. Little Perfections: Eating in Singapore (Kitchen Arts and Letters, 2026) is available to purchase exclusively at Kitchen Arts & Letters. This interview was conducted by Ernest Lee, PhD student at the University of Chicago. He researches the history of postcolonial energy through the lens of development, infrastructure and environment, with a focus on West Africa and Southeast Asia. Learn more about your ad choices. He also dropped a bombshell: pepper on a steak before cooking is wrong. It burns and goes acrid. Pepper is a finishing spice only. That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Nick goes back to October 27, 1990 to revisit the only time Patrick Swayze hosted Saturday Night Live, and it turned out to be a great showcase for him. Fresh off the success of Ghost and in the middle of filming Point Break, Swayze came in ready to do a little bit of everything. He opens with a memorable monologue dancing with his wife, Lisa Niemi, then jumps into a wide range of sketches, poking fun at his own image, playing a smooth Latin crooner, and even showing up alongside Hans and Franz. Of course, the night is best remembered for the now-legendary Chippendales sketch with Chris Farley, which still holds up as one of the funniest bits the show ever did. Nick plays the key moments and shares stories from behind the scenes of a show that was a little weird, very funny, and a perfect example of how committed Swayze was to whatever he was asked to do. Dr. Kevin Christie interviews UK chiropractor Dr. Chris Chippendale about why patient communication and overall patient experience will become even more important as AI adoption grows in healthcare. They also announce a one-day Patient Experience Masterclass in London on June 20, 2026.The masterclass will be co-taught by Dr. Chippendale (doctor communication and training) and Dr. Christie (designing a remarkable patient experience, including service vs. hospitality). Attendees will leave with a workbook and a clear patient experience plan for their clinic. They discuss the risks of AI—including generic “AI slop,” reduced engagement, and difficulty identifying true expertise—while also highlighting opportunities. Both argue that while AI will raise baseline communication expectations, it will also increase the value of genuine human connection.Dr. Chippendale shares how he uses AI scribing during new-patient visits to stay more present with patients, while Dr. Christie explains how he uses AI to research tissue-healing timelines and improve report-of-findings communication.Throughout the conversation, they emphasize that strong communication builds patient trust, drives referrals, and improves practitioner confidence and enjoyment.Learn more about Dr. Chippendale at patientcentered.co.uk.

That's this episode. In Episode 101 of your favorite daily comedy podcast, the crew welcomes KC95's Tim Virgin into the early-morning chaos while Riz breaks down his 48-hour Vegas sprint — which included flying Southwest (girth battle included), getting rescued from a questionable hotel by a hero friend with standards, and discovering that Fremont Street is basically a live-action fever dream with zip lines and Chippendales. But that's just the warm-up.Riz attends a record label convention where Linda Perry performs, AI panels nearly induce a coma, and radio is once again declared “dead” for the 47th straight year. (Spoiler: it's not.) Tim Virgin delivers an intro so epic it basically resurrects the room, and Riz uses his moment on stage to yell at record companies for sending drummers to interviews. Lead singer or we riot. Then comes the emotional rollercoaster:Riz meets Jacob from Sublime… and immediately shuts down like a Windows 98 desktop. He reflects on sitting next to Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on a plane without saying a word.He realizes he may be wildly successful… and still socially broken. And then… redemption.Riz stumbles into a showcase for Barbarians of California (AWOLNATION's side project) and actually loves it. Send us a textEpisode #01 // Season:2026In this episode, Luba, Founder and CEO of Bryght, sits down with Ashley, a woman who has held many roles in her life. Former employee, chosen family, and now one of her closest friends. They met over 15 years ago, when neither woman could have predicted where life would take them. Fast forward to now and they are standing in two very different chapters. Both single. Both thriving. One raising a child. The other intentionally child free. Each living a life that looks nothing like the one they imagined back then. And yet the parallels are impossible to ignore. This conversation is raw, funny, reflective, and unapologetically honest. They talk about how friendship evolves when roles shift, from coworkers to confidantes to women who had to redefine boundaries. What it means to outgrow old versions of yourself and sometimes each other. Dating in today's world, the confusion, the chemistry, and the contradictions. They dig into what actually defines a one night stand. Is it about time, intention, or emotional access. Due dates, deadlines, and the invisible timelines women are told to live by. Older men versus younger men and why neither category guarantees emotional maturity.Luba brings her CEO energy, lived experience, and zero tolerance for bullshit. Ashley brings motherhood, clarity, and the grounded perspective of a woman who knows exactly what she will and will not accept.Different lives. Different choices. Same self trust. Same growth. Same refusal to settle. This is not girl talk.It is a womanhood conversation about desire, independence, friendship, and choosing yourself at every stage.Pull up a chair. This one hits.

Megan opens up about losing her leg in a lawnmower accident just one week after her wedding, the trauma of the injury, the reality of relearning how to walk with a prosthetic, and the anger, grief, and resilience that followed. Together, they discuss the role of dark humour in surviving hard seasons, how identity shifts after medical trauma, what it means to rebuild a sense of purpose, and why life is never about what happens to you—but how you respond when everything falls apart.
Send us a textEpisode #24 // Season:2025This episode isn't about dance. It's about belief. The kind you have to build when no one around you sees your vision when the people closest to you tell you it's unrealistic, impossible, or “not going to work.”In this raw and deeply empowering conversation, I sit down with Anastasia Supernova, a professional dancer whose journey is a powerful reminder that confidence is not something you're born with it's something you choose, over and over again.Anastasia opens up about a moment many wouldn't expect from someone now considered a professional: attending her first dance festival and sitting on the sidelines, watching instead of participating. Not because she wasn't talented but because her self-confidence was shattered. She questioned whether she belonged there at all. She second-guessed herself as a professional. She felt invisible in a room she had worked so hard to enter. And that's the point. We all start somewhere.Even the women we admire.Even the ones we think “got lucky.”This episode is about what happens before the applause, before the titles, before the confidence looks effortless. It's about choosing to believe in yourself when your inner voice is quiet and the external voices are loud with doubt.Anastasia's story is a reminder that:You don't need permission to dream biggerYou don't need validation to beginAnd you don't need to feel ready to take the first stepYou just need to stay in the room long enough to remember who you are.If you've ever doubted yourself, felt behind, questioned your worth, or chased a dream that others didn't understand this episode is for you.Because believing in yourself isn't delusion. It's the first act of courage. Send us a textEpisode #21 // Season:2025Luba sits down with a fellow dancer she's crossed paths with in Thailand, Barcelona, and Poland a familiar face in the international Bachata scene who, like her, had felt the shift at an international festival. The conversation was sparked by two moments that hit the internet this month: • Luba's recent post about feeling unwelcome in her local dance community, a post that unexpectedly went viral, with thousands of dancers resonating with her experience. • Manuels reflective post about feeling disconnected at a major European festival, despite being surrounded by music, dancers, and undeniable talent.Together, they ask the question everyone has been whispering but few have been willing to say out loud:Is the dance community losing its purpose, its heart, and the connection that made so many of us fall in love with it in the first place? This episode dives into: • The difference between dancing for community vs. dancing for content • Why so many dancers feel unseen, unwelcome, or “out of place” even in rooms full of people • The emotional toll of feeling disconnected from something that once felt like homeRaw, honest, and long overdue, this episode is for dancers everywhere who've ever questioned their place in the room and for anyone who still believes the dance floor should be the one place you never have to fight for belonging.Support the show-----Our intro and outro music is made by Ashley from Lullaby The Fear Podcast. Send us a textEpisode #20 // Season:2025This week's episode takes listeners behind the scenes to one of the most stressful moments of the Florida show the day UPS lost a critical package hours before everything was supposed to begin. While the pressure was sky-high and the clock was ticking, two women stepped in without hesitation: Stacy and Angela. They showed up with the kind of calm, action-oriented support that defines what Bryght truly stands for women supporting women in real time, not just in theory. No drama. No panic. No “that's not my problem.”Just two girls' girls who rolled up their sleeves and did what needed to be done to keep everything moving.Stacy and Angela embody the heart of Bryght:community, collaboration, and the unspoken power of women who have each other's backs. This episode is Luba's tribute to them a reminder that behind every successful moment is a circle of women who refuse to let another woman fall.Follow Angela, Stacy, and Luba on instagram:monarchskinllcstacythewaxologistlubasasowskiSupport the show-----Our intro and outro music is made by Ashley from Lullaby The Fear Podcast. Will less attractive guys treat you better? Are broke boys better in bed? These are the questions…and we have answers. We're discussing the dating trend of “Shrekking” (dating down when it comes to looks) and why some people think it's the move, and others say it will ruin your love life. We're also discussing dating expectations in general and what's realistic (and not realistic) to look for in one person. And we break down another “Should I break up with him?” email about when your passions in life don't align. Before we dive into the topic, we're recapping Ashley's (third and final) bachelorette in Vegas including Rayna's Chippendales performance, dress-gate in the Vegas mall, and being hot messes in the airport. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! For some reason, female nudity feels *way* more common than male nudity. In pop culture at least, we're way more used to seeing women being naked and sexualized. Think how many times you see titties on tv. And then think about how everyone loses their minds when there's a penis on HBO or White Lotus. It's rare! Back in the 1950s, it was only men who had bachelor parties. Bachelorette parties? Not a thing. In those days, women would have bridal showers. And men got to have their wild night out. But by the 70s, feminism was going strong. Women were feeling a little more liberated. They wanted equality, and that meant that we wanted bachelorette parties, baby. Like, we want exactly what the guys are having. And this story is really about a few guys being in the right place at the right time. Because they started something over in Los Angeles that overlapped with the rise of porn, *and* female empowerment. Because what do you need for the perfect bachelorette party? Booze, penis straws and… strippers. Hot, naked, dancing men. I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show.
