What started as a small gathering in Dee-dee's household snowballed into a huge community of homeschool families. “The most successful groups are the ones that grow organically,” Deedee notes. Her homeschool group now offers copious enrichment activities such as drama, theatre, and a brown bag lunch program for the needy in the community.  Krysten runs the largest homeschool group on a military base in the nation. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the UK, Steven was nominated for a Hollywood Film Award at the Hollywood Film Awards for his short film, Vodka, Winter and The Cry of Violin, for which he starred, wrote, directed and produced. The film, based on a true story about his Polish grandparents' perilous twilight plight to save their only son from a Nazi German POW camp during the last winter of WWII, was nominated at Raindance UK and was awarded 'Best International Short' at the New York International Film Festival.Steven received critical acclaim for his performance as Young Eddie in the film adaptation of Mitch Albom's best-selling novel, “The Five People You Meet In Heaven”, starring Academy Award Winner Jon Voight, Academy Award Nominee's Jeff Daniels and Ellen Burstyn and Emmy Winner Michael Imperioli. Gerardo Davila was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and grew up in Garland, TX. He's 1st generation, the oldest of five children and the first of his family to become an actor in the United States. In his late teens he applied his music background and formed a rap group called Latin Royalty that performed in and around the Dallas scene. After the group broke up, he later went solo as Master G. He later attended the University of North Texas studying Radio-TV-Film, subsequently giving up his musical aspirations as a young adult and began his acting career at the age of 29 jumping right into theatre at Teatro Dallas working with his first mentor and friend Cora Cardona. In 2004 he joined acting group Class Act Dallas, he trained there weekly for 16 years under the tutelage of his late mentor Daniel Foster. He attributes his success to being bilingual, consistent training, persistence, patience and dedication. In 2015 he met another great mentor, the late Marta Dubois in Los Angeles. In the Fall of 2019, he was accepted and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where he trained with Brigit Panet, Andrew Tidmarsh and Salvatore Sorce. He continues to return and train at RADA. Over the last 18 years he consistently books film and television roles, national and regional commercials, spokeperson, print and voiceover for video games and anime. Gerardo has also been a mentor and private acting coach for over 10 years. He has appeared in many television shows such as Chicago Fire, Better Call Saul, Cobra Kai and The Vampire Diaries. In 2021 he landed his first recurring role in Paramount's TV drama Long Slow Exhale. Among recent feature films he's starred in include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 & The Suicide Squad by director James Gunn, Root Letter, Adam The First and Ghoster. Gerardo is in pre-production for his directorial debut.

He created and starred in Moone Boy in 2012, a semi-autobiographical, Emmy-winning series set in his hometown. Chris wrote, directed and acted in his new show Small Town, Big Story, a Sky original featuring Christina Hendricks Paddy Considine. Following High School in Bethel, Vermont Wells spent three seasons in Antarctica as a member of the Navy's VXE-6 Antarctic Para-Rescue Team. VXE-6 was contracted by the National Science Foundation as the air wing in support of international Antarctic research "Operation Deepfreeze." During this time he became an Antarctic Survival Instructor and the 7th person to skydive the South Pole - January 19, 1977. After his Antarctic tour he studied acting at Santa Barbara City College and performed in college and Santa Barbara community productions. In 1980 he left Santa Barbara for New York to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Wells' SAG and AFTRA cards soon followed with principal roles in network television commercials and daytime television. In the early 90's Wells co-founded a production company, Aunahil, LLC and produced, wrote and directed over 100 live theatrical and educational events for non-profit organization presented in venues across the country including Constitution Hall for The White House, The Kennedy Center Opera House, Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, Orchestra Hall Chicago, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art. In 2006 Wells completed an 1,100 mile backpack trek with Miles Spencer from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Damascus, Syria retracing T.E. Lawrence (of Arabia) path along the Hejaz as outlined in "Seven Pillars of Wisdom." He has been a board member of "Kayak for a Cause" and kayaked across Long Island Sound annually for five years with several hundred kayakers to raise funds for local charities. Wells has climbed a half dozen Colorado 14er's, skied Colorado back-country bowls and has completed over 40 solo 3 am 7 mile hikes up 12,622' Santa Fe Baldy, NM in all seasons to watch spectacular sunrises. My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Robert Blake Whitehill, author of the book Deadrise. Robert was born into a Quaker family in Mardela Springs, just outside Salisbury on Maryland's Eastern Shore peninsula. He grew up sailing the Chesapeake Bay, and one of her most beautiful tributaries, the Chester River. After graduating from Westtown School, Whitehill stayed in Pennsylvania to earn his B.A. in creative writing at Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges. Later he trained as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. He is the author of the award-winning, critically acclaimed, multi-category, international Kindle bestselling Ben Blackshaw thrillers, which currently has six titles, and audiobooks in the works in German and English. Whitehill lives in New Jersey with his wife and son. When he wasn't sailing, or knocking around the sky in a Cessna 152, Whitehill published several articles about his home waters in Chesapeake Bay Magazine. His clamming partner, Knocker Ellis, isn't as surprised as he should be, nor are the other inhabitants of the island. When Maynard Chalk learns his deal has gone sour, and that Ben's father is to blame, he comes to the island to get his money and the bomb - but Ben has other plans. I loved Robert's characters, and especially loved that Smith Island with all her quirky inhabitants was as much of a characters as Ben. After the 2024 election, NY Post reports that Georgetown University deployed ‘self-care suites' for students who were ‘stressed' by the results, while other schools encouraged students who were 'emotionally distressed' to skip class entirely. I'm happy I met Camirin before I read their official bio because it's extensive. And intimidating, I'm not even going to try to summarize it:  Camirin Farmer is a nonbinary, queer, black performer & astrologer based in Los Angeles, CA. After beginning their comedic career in Baltimore, MD which included performing stand up at ARTSCAPE, America's largest free art festival, they returned to their hometown of Los Angeles where they have now been for the last 7 years. Over that time they have explored various avenues of comedy: improv and sketch at Second City Hollywood that began with joining the cast of the main stage production Some F*cking Advice, and concluding with being a member of the house sketch team Hot Flan; various stand up shows, including Hot Tub with Kurt & Kristen, Helltrap Nightmare, the Funny or Die showcase, and many self produced shows at The Elysian Theater; and multiple clown performances, specifically their hour long solo shows titled Fart Piss Puke and God Vessel. In 2020 Camirin began to fuse their appreciation for astrology, and comedic practice with their astrology based advice show Your Virgo Friend, Camirin on the streaming website Eternal Family. While producing, and hosting the show, Camirin's study of astrology, although self explored, became deeper. In 2023 Camirin began a more serious study of astrology under the tutelage of Sisterbride, née Blair Bogin. They are currently an adjunct professor at the USC School of Dramatic Arts. Core to all of their comedy is the desire to explore, and articulate their experience as a marginalized person specifically through the lens of living with faith in a Higher Picture. If you're a regular listener to my show, then you know by now that I'm always excited to introduce you to intriguing creatives who are making a positive impact in their fields of expertise.   Today, I'm especially excited for this conversation as in some ways I feel like this particular guest and I have been doppelganger's in both experiences and creative choices. She also happens to share one of my core beliefs that it's never too late to pursue one's dreams.  Now a full time voice and on-camera actor as well as a voice over coach, Jennifer “Jenn” Sims, was deep into her career as the Director of Broadcast at one of L.A.'s top ad agencies, she worked on 100s of commercials with talent agents and casting directors and listened to thousands of voice actor's auditions. She also directed voice actors, including Emmy and Oscar winners; such as Donald Sutherland as the voice for a national healthcare campaign and produced network promos starring the incomparable voice legend, Don LaFontaine, to name a just few. As glamorous as the world of advertising appears to be in the content it creates, it can also be, as Jenn says, very toxic, and her work environment was becoming increasingly so, prompting Jenn to reflect on what she really wanted to do when she began her career in the first place; that of being an actress;  as she spent years honing her quirky sense of humor while studying comedy and improv at The Upright Citizen's Brigade, The Groundlings, (which landed her on-camera commercials for Uber, Snapchat and WebMD) and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. It was during a recording session, that Jenn realized her passion for acting was undiminished and made the decision to quit her job to pursue a full time career in voice over! However, in Jenns own words, she was “older” than most people who pursue full time acting. And for anyone who is familiar with how youth oriented show business is; especially in Los Angeles, it wasn't exactly a text-book recipe for success. Leaving that coveted Director of Broadcast position was a huge risk but one she was willing to take, and so Jenn took that leap. Tracey Bregman is an American actress. She is best known for the role of Lauren Fenmore on the CBS soap operas The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Bregman was born in Munich, Germany, to American musical arranger, record producer and composer Buddy Bregman and Canadian-born actress Suzanne Lloyd. She lived in Great Britain until the age of 10 when her family relocated to California. She has been acting since she was 11 years old, and currently resides in Malibu, California. She studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Bregman made her acting debut playing a small part in the 1978 made-for-television movie, Three on a Date. Later that year, she was cast in the NBC daytime soap opera, Days of Our Lives portraying troubled teen, Donna Temple Craig. In 1979, she received Young Artist Award for Best Juvenile Actress in A Daytime Series for her performance in soap. She left the soap in 1980. In 1981, she made her big screen debut starring in the slasher film Happy Birthday to Me. She later starred alongside Jill St. John in the prison drama film The Concrete Jungle (1982) and in the Canadian comedy-drama film, The Funny Farm (1983). On television, she guest-starred on The Littlest Hobo, The Love Boat, Fame, and The Fall Guy. In 1983, Bregman returned to daytime television with the role of Lauren Fenmore in the CBS's The Young and the Restless. Bregman initially believed her role as Lauren would be brief, but after six months the soap offered her a contract and she accepted. When it was introduced in 1985, she was the first actress to be awarded the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series (then known as the "Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series"), being nominated for the same award again in 1987 and for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in both 2006 and 2008. In 1992, Bregman brought the character to The Bold and the Beautiful, resulting in her migrating there fully in 1995. In 2000, Bregman returned to The Young and the Restless, remaining on a recurring status. From April to June 2010, while still portraying Lauren, Bregman took on double-duty with The Young and the Restless, as she also portrayed Sheila Carter's sister, Sarah. In, 2010, she also appeared alongside her Y&R co-star, Christian LeBlanc, in the music video for Reba McEntire's single, "I Keep On Loving You". Niceole grew up under the bright stars of the Mojave Desert before swapping them for bright lights of Los Angeles. Studying acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts yielded the epiphany that she preferred writing. She worked as a police dispatcher to pay her way through undergraduate USC, and then completed the Master of Professional Writing program, also at USC. An alum of the CBS Writers Mentoring Program, NBC's Writers on the Verge, and the WGAw Showrunner Training Program, Niceole has written on Ironside, Allegiance, The Mysteries of Laura, Shades of Blue, Cloak & Dagger, Fate: the Winx Saga, and S.W.A.T.She also co-wrote a feature, The Banker, with former Allegiance showrunner and director George Nolfi, available on AppleTV+. Niceole is currently a co-executive producer on Graymail, which will air on Netflix, and has several TV and feature projects in development.
