35 years ago my wife and I came to Walt Disney World for the first time. It was 1988 and I had big bucket dreams of visiting since opening in 1971. We were finally established with our first child and a new one on the way. We set a course for Florida. Disney's Hollywood Studios was still a year away, but Epcot was something totally unlike anything I had seen in my years at Disneyland, and the Magic Kingdom was supposed to be something far bigger than the original “Happiest Place on Earth” The experience was profound as it made us set sights on the idea of moving to Florida. The DMSW Podcast: Talking all things Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars
Right off the bat, I apologize for the audio quality for my portion of the interview with my daughter Sydney. I did not realize my podcast mic had not connected properly so our entire hour plus interview my audio was only recorded from the mic built into the laptop and you can here the drop in quality from what I normally try to bring to the table here on this podcast, and I did not want to make my daughter have to re-record everything that we had just talked about a second time. The good news is that my guest this week is my daughter Sydney and I am so happy to get her back on the show again. You have heard her voice many times mixed into some of the comedy skits I have done, so it was so fun to get her back on for a full interview episode. We just had a father/daughter 1 on 1 trip down to WDW, and this episode today is just part 1. For this episode we cover our reasons for doing this trip, the travel down, our first day in the Disney bubble, and the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. On this week's show, I finally get around to recapping a couple of recent trips my family and I took to Walt Disney World. Both trips contained some brand new experiences for us that I've been wanting to talk about and share with you here on the show. Some of the highlights were: staying at a Disney resort that we'd never stayed at before, getting to ride Tron: Light Cycle Run, experiencing an enjoyable new dining experience or two, and much more!
