In this episode of Words With Wista, we're unpacking Trump calling the affordability crisis a “hoax” while the data tells a very different story, tourists being asked to submit five years of social media history to visit the U.S., and multiple devastating tragedies from Brown University to Australia's Bondi Beach that raise serious questions about safety and accountability. We also get into the rising cases of HIV in NYC, Busta Rhymes checking a TikToker, a University of Michigan football scandal that reportedly led to an arrest, and an OnlyFans creator facing major legal trouble overseas. Plus, Jason Derulo rewriting his personal rules post-lawsuit, Beyoncé and friends stepping into Met Gala 2026 leadership, Russell Simmons responding to Kimora Lee Simmons, a jaw-dropping $2.5M NYC restaurant scheme, and the shocking passing of Rob Reiner and his wife. Heavy news, loud celebrities, and the mess in between. IG: itswista IG/SubStack: wordswithwista

This week on Unglossy, we get rare, front-row access to hip-hop happening in real time. Tom and Jeffrey go full fly-on-the-wall as Bun B and Statik Selektah build TrillStatik 5 from scratch—live, unannounced, and completely unscripted—during Art Basel weekend in Miami. From surprise guests walking straight off the street into the booth, to verses written, recorded, and sequenced on the spot, this episode pulls back the curtain on what creative chaos looks like when mastery meets momentum. Bun breaks down the pressure of rapping on every track, the communal energy of artists who simply love to rap, and why TrillStatik is about execution, not exploitation. You'll hear stories involving Tony Sunshine, Termanology, Robb Banks, Bone Crusher, and a legendary Busta Rhymes phone call that turned into a masterclass in respect, legacy, and bars. No rollouts. No safety nets. Just craft, competition, and culture—captured as it happens. If you've ever wondered how real hip-hop gets made when the clock is ticking and the mic is hot, this one's for you. This is Unglossy."Unglossy" is produced and distributed by Merrick Studio and hosted by Bun B, Tom Frank and Jeffrey Sledge. Lyall Behrens unpacks why Black folks always ask, “Do you think Kevin Hart is funny?” when they find out you're a Comedian, why Black comics still need that signature project, and the showdown between Marlon Wayans vs. 50 Cent. He tackles Busta Rhymes vs. a prank-pulling TikToker, why social media isn't to blame for society's corniness, 90s MTV nostalgia, Bill Clinton as the first “relatable” president, and the evolution of Eminem's voices—all while unpacking why America's drinking less might say more than you think.
ABC has extended Jimmy Kimmel's contract through 2027 in a move seen as both a business win and a political statement, keeping its most outspoken Trump critic on air despite recent controversies, government scrutiny, and pressure from conservative affiliates. Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner shut down breakup rumors by arriving together in matching orange looks at the “Marty Supreme” premiere, appearing affectionate and unified more than two years into their high-profile relationship. Busta Rhymes snapped on a content creator who deliberately called him Tracy Morgan during an Art Basel prank, cursing him out and warning him not to disrespect a grown man after realizing the encounter was staged. Adria Sheri English, a former go-go dancer, has made serious allegations against Sean "Diddy" Combs, claiming that she was forced to participate in sexual activities at his infamous "freak-off" parties. English, who has filed a lawsuit against Diddy, also revealed a list of high-profile celebrities she saw at these gatherings. Among the notable figures she claims were present are Donald Trump, Diana Ross (with her underage son Evan), Paris Hilton, Ja Rule, Busta Rhymes, and Reverend Al Sharpton. English expressed surprise at seeing some of these individuals, particularly Reverend Al Sharpton, at such controversial events.English alleges that while these celebrities attended the main parties, the "freak-offs" took place in secluded rooms away from the main events, suggesting that many of the partygoers may not have been aware of the more sinister activities happening behind closed doors. English also claimed that Diddy secretly recorded these encounters for potential blackmail purposes, further complicating the accusations against him.Courtney Burgess, a witness in the federal investigation against Sean "Diddy" Combs, testified before a grand jury that he possesses 11 flash drives containing sex tapes allegedly involving Combs and eight celebrities, including two to three minors. Burgess claimed these tapes were provided to him by Combs' ex-girlfriend, Kim Porter, before her death in 2018. He described the individuals in the tapes as appearing inebriated and suggested they were victims of Combs' actions..Additionally, Burgess stated that he has seen an unedited version of a memoir written by Porter, which contains detailed accounts of Combs' alleged physical and sexual violence. He mentioned that he was contacted by agents from the Department of Homeland Security and later subpoenaed by a federal grand jury to provide all relevant electronic devices. Burgess's testimony adds to the mounting allegations against Combs, who is currently facing charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.Also...During a recent interagency operation at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, authorities seized drugs, homemade weapons, and electronic devices. The operation, involving the Bureau of Prisons, the Justice Department's inspector general, and other law enforcement agencies, aimed to address safety and security concerns within the facility. Officials stated that the sweep was part of a broader initiative and not in response to any specific threat or individual, including current detainee Sean "Diddy" Combs. The raid calls into question the point of the OIG report into Jeffrey Epstein's death, considering how many of the same issues are still present, even after the BOP was made aware of the issues. to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

On today’s “Closer Look with Rose Scott,” the Public Religion Research Institute is going beyond the protests and rhetoric to understand just how deep America’s political divides are. We discussed their 16th annual American Values Survey with PRRI CEO Melissa Deckman. Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Private Practice, Bridgerton, and the list doesn’t stop there. The creator behind each of those beloved programs is Shonda Rhimes. The executive producer and screenwriter is celebrated within her industry and by fans as someone who creates moving, thrilling, and heartfelt stories where everyone feels represented. While on her “Year of Yes” 10th Anniversary book tour in Atlanta, Rhimes spoke to Scott about what keeps her inspired, her outlook on AI, and the future of entertainment. Some of music’s most legendary artists, including some local icons, will hit the stage at Piedmont Park this weekend for the ONE Musicfest. The lineup for the music festival includes Future, Dungeon Family, The Roots, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Doechii & more. Ahead of a weekend of exciting performances, “Closer Look” took a tour of the outdoor event as it was being set up and learned more about what the 30,000 attendees can expect. Ern and Iso also expose how artists are being robbed in modern 360 deals, and Iso raises the question — are rappers the new scammers? "When you stand on what matters, everything is going to fall into place for you." Anthony Ramos One's journey is never a straight line and often the path we think we are destined for is paved with lots of ups and downs that lead us to where we belong. In this pivotal conversation, Ryan, Channing, and Fred sit down with multi‑talented actor, singer, and storyteller Anthony Ramos, to explore the twists, turns, and lessons that have shaped his journey. From humble beginnings of the New York streets to Broadway stages, from major film sets to music studios, Anthony shares how he's navigated shifting expectations, risk, and growth — all while staying rooted in identity and purpose. He shares the impact that starring in Hamilton had on his life, the wisdom from Busta Rhymes, the excitement of Spike Lee, being on set with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, his most transformative role as well as his most challenging and gives a sneak peek at some big projects in the works. It's a reflective and honest conversation on the little moments and decisions that led him to chase his dream down an unlikely path overcoming poverty, sharing how the streets taught him to act and maneuver the challenges of a rough upbringing and why pursuing a passion is often out of reach for people like him. He talks to Ryan about dealing with race and cultural barriers, staying authentically himself while balancing Hollywood pressures, choosing to be on the right side of his beliefs, betting on himself and taking risks to chase the big roles. He talks to Channing how he mended the relationship with his father before he passed and explains to Fred saying no is hard but being loyal to his roots matters the most, which he explains turning down the chance to work with J.Lo. The guys get into what “pivoting” really means when your life is already in motion as this episode goes beyond the highlight reel to dig into the grind, the doubts, and the quiet breakthroughs. Whether you're in creative fields or facing your own pivot point, Anthony's transparency and mindset offer resonance and inspiration.
