It feels like there is so much opposition to homeschooling. Though today there is a far greater degree of acceptance, plenty of voices remain which not only question but blatantly oppose our efforts to raise our children at home. That said, the greatest opposition probably comes in our own self doubts and even resistance to what homeschooling requires of us. And what does it require? Just about everything. But if we learn to yield to the requirements, to the sacrifice, we learn the secret - giving is receiving, losing is reclaiming. Death is life. Great Sacrifice, Greater Joy I Kings 17:8-16 God does what he always does. His means will change. His provision will not. Elijah did what Jesus did. Came to people in great need. Called them to great sacrifice. Promised great reward. I need to do what Elijah did. Challenge to serve. Challenge to give. Challenge to pray.
This week, millions of Muslims celebrate Eid Al Adha (Feast Of Sacrifice). On this day, they commemorate the devotion of Abraham to sacrifice his son. As Christians, let's use this momentum to learn and apply the sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ as the lamb of God that takes away our sin.
Great sacrifice leads to great joy.

Jesus is about to demonstrate how far He will go express His love for mankind. He will sacrifice everything and show how to focus on eternal rewards. Those who were there that day, heard Jesus explain what the commitment would have to be, and heard His Father confirm the importance of the sacrifice. This would be one more example of what it means to follow Jesus. To die to self, to fulfill God's purpose in this life, to then receive eternal reward in heaven.

Episode 61 [Mark 12:41-44] w/ Granger Smith In today's episode, Granger and I discuss Jesus' observations in the synagogue. As Jesus and His disciples sit, they see people giving their tithes and offerings. Eventually, a woman approaches and gives two copper coins (worth only a few cents). Jesus makes and astounding statement by saying that she gave more than anyone had because she gave EVERYTHING she had. Some people gave from their abundance, but she gave from her lack. What does this mean for us? How does the example of this faithful woman impact us? Sponsors / Resources: Click to support: 22 Beans Coffee Co. On September 10th, 2001, all of us who were alive at that time went to bed not realizing that the next day the whole world would change, but for some the world would change more than for others. The next day as planes began crashing into buildings our first responders began to run into burning collapsing buildings while others were running out them.In other places military men and women began to ready themselves to find and eliminate those who would seek to do us harm. As we approach the anniversary of that life altering day we are doing an episode to pay tribute to those who put their life on the line for us each day.Sitting in a high school class in Northern California on 9/11 was a star athlete named Jordan Stevenson. Jordan was one of those who in future days would choose to serve his country during a time when he knew he would go to war. While serving in Afghanistan he was shot in the head, was in a coma for months and then woke up to the right side of his body being paralyzed. His story of resilience, recovery, and the way he is using his platform to bring hope to his fellow service people and others going through a difficult time is incredible.Thank you, Jordan, and thank you so all of those who put their life on the line for us each day.
