She is survived by her partner, Teg Nam, and cherished by the millions of souls she touched along her incredibly accomplished path. In today's episode of The Real Life Show: Living with a Chronic Illness, we talk to Dr. Traci Patterson who was diagnosed with Type 2 Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) after a foot/ankle surgery. However, she has been in remission and pain free for 7 years now! Dr. Traci elaborates on how she achieved this and how she brings hope to her chronic pain patients with a comprehensive, non-invasive, drug free protocol she developed called the Holistic Centered Treatment (HCT). She tried so many treatments used by traditional medicine that just didn't work for her for so long. It wasn't until she focused on the mind/body connection did she finally find relief. Dr. Traci uses many different modalities on her patients that she knows works to relieve all types of chronic pain because she was once the patient as well. The ones referenced on her website (linked below) are, hypnosis, light/sound therapy, neuroplasticity training, cell memory, and more.Stepping Outside the Box: A Journey from Invisible Pain to Invincible Living, is available in paperback and as an e-book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0578717328Traci's Website: https://www.advancedpathways.com/home.htmlTraci's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/advancedpathwayshypnosis/?hl=enSocial Media:https://www.instagram.com/therealspooniesunite/https://www.therealspooniesunite.com/https://www.facebook.com/groups/2443751542368935E-book: https://chelseadcoaching.com/the-ebook MyWellnessHub: https://mywellnesshub.coMerch: https://teespring.com/stores/the-real-spoonies-uniteWorkbook: https://amzn.to/2GqFIi2Email: hello@TheRealSpooniesUnite.comSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/therealspooniesunite)

With the release of mbg collective member Guru Jagat's new book, Invincible Living, some wellness newbies thought she was an "overnight success," but the reality is she's been practicing and teaching Kundalini yoga—check out her Kundalini 101 class on mbg—for over 20 years. She studied with Kundalini master Yogi Bhajan, who is thought to have brought Kundalini teachings to the Western world. In this episode, we get a rare look at the behind-the-scenes version of how she became the woman and leader she is today. Guru opens up about her childhood, her affinity for punk rock, and how she found Kundalini. We also discuss life's big questions—what kind of healing do people really need in a distraught world? What keeps her up at night? And her advice to her younger self. Whether you're interested in Kundalini or not, this episode's got something for everyone. From the struggles of entrepreneurship to simple pragmatic exercises that can help a bad day, Guru is authentic, entertaining, and so well-spoken. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
It's a New Year and today, Tammi and Sondra reflect on 2017, specifically on their respective practices of picking a word for the year. They talk about when they each started the practice, why they do it and how it has shaped their years. They also share their chosen words for 2018 and the intentions behind their choices. It's time to retire that old, non-effective practice of resolution-setting. They hope that in sharing this practice, you may be inspired to set your own intentions for your New Year's Evolution, setting you up for success in the coming year. The ladies share their top three tools in their Unruffled Toolbox for the week: Sondra: (1) Free lunar planner from Lunar Abundance; (2) Femmenessence Macalife; (3) Invincible Living by Guru Jagat Tammi: (1) Art + Notes yearly desk folders; (2) Moleskine Weekly Notebook/Diary Planner; and (3) Apartment Therapy's January Cure.

Welcome to the new age of ancient wisdom. We in the west are currently smack dab in the middle of a collective spiritual awakening. Or as our esteemed guest, Guru Jagat affectionately calls it in this episode- the new new age. Whatever you call it, it’s clear that there is a hopeful surge of interest in the area of personal development via spiritual practices. People young and old find themselves looking to the spiritual teachers and traditions of the past to help make sense of the present, and to light a path to a future that carries meaning, and hope. Yoga seems to be everywhere. And it's not just in the crunchy, granola capitals like LA and San Francisco anymore. It’s hit middle America like a waft of curry carried by the winds of change. You might even catch a juiced-up meathead in a yoga class at the gym these days for reasons other than the fact that that’s where you’ll likely find the highest concentration of Lulu Lemon-clad booties doing downward dogs. They are there for the same reason Wall Street brokers use meditation to manage stress: They know there is more to life than the tangible, material plane of reality. And they want to experience it. Young hipsters show off their mindfulness practice poses on Instagram. Native American dream catchers and healing crystals adorn the dashboards of today's’ latest breed of Prius driving spirit seekers. A new language has even emerged on the scene. Terminology like ‘Holding space,' ‘Namaste’ and ‘Balancing your chakras’ have become language you overhear while standing in line at the bank. But what does all this mean, and how can we discern the true from the false? The passing fads from the timeless, universal truths? Can we still live a ‘normal’ life while pursuing a deeper, metaphysical state of being? In this two-part episode with Kundalini Yoga teacher and thought-leader Guru Jagat, we take a very practical, if not irreverent view of the current state of affairs of modern spirituality as seen through the lens of ancient yogic tradition and practice. In it, you will not only learn about the lineage of yoga she practices and teaches, but also how she has managed to create a small empire based on these principles, and how she continues to inspire the current, and incoming generation to find the sometimes hidden, deeper meaning in life. Be the change you want to see in the world by sharing this show with someone who shares your curiosity of the unknown.
